I've also been thinking more about these Solarsystems UV-B's i have hanging above the led's........

And have been reading the company's recommendations on how to utilize them. They are made for a 4 x 4 room which is perfect, and are meant to be hung 3 ft. above the canopy for maximum coverage. Here's what they have to say-

1. Use last 2-3 weeks of flowering
2. 2-6 hours a day
3. Best to use in the middle of the flowering period
4. Place 3 feet above the canopy

I have used these fixtures on and off over the last 1-2 years, but normally only the last week and for 1/2 hour a day when I remember. This time I plan on making a more serious effort.

The Runtz x Layer Cake was my last strain i did............it turned out well. Starts with a sativa rush, end with a mellow indica buzz. Smell and taste were incredible.

I grow in Promix.......I have 3 years of Gavita grows on RIU and the Farm if you search for them.

i banned from there farm just for coming in here . Il look up or riu. .

just wanted to know your tips.
do you use and microbes?
You veg 4-5 weeks i see.
Ph 6.3
ive jus gone to soil for first time after five years in coco

No microbes but myco's (fungus) in the Promix.

Yes, 4-5 weeks veg depending on the strain and height (or expected height).

pH always 6.3, but anywhere between 6.2-6.4 SHOULD be fine. I've done tons of work on this, 6.3 works best for me.

Most of my grows at RIU are under HPS. This was my last documented LED grow there:

An interesting study how UV-B can control/kill off spider mites and eggs......

Today is 6 weeks finished with flowering......less than 3 weeks to go. Left side of room below. I start cutting back the Nitrogen now.image.jpg

I've been giving the room about 10 minutes of UV-B a day, just starting to get them used to it a bit. Consider outdoor plants, that get a small blast of UV-B daily from the sun daily from veg- it's makes them "hardier" with tougher leaves. Here's my tentative daily schedule for UV-

Week 6 10 minutes rising to 20 minutes by the end of the first week
Week 7 20 minutes rising to 30 minutes daily
Week 8 1 hour daily
Week 9 2 hours daily until harvest (days 60-65 depending)

Sativa's have an easier time with UV-B, as they get bigger doses near the equator and grow used to it. Indica's, although often grown in mountains around the world, have to be watched for any negative effects. If so, I'll have to cut back or slow down a bit.

Ah.is that the tacoeing I’m seeing from the uv..I don’t think I’ve seen you grow bigger buds than these since you was under hps..are these leaning more to sativa or those plants looking like they are fox tailing right at the top..they are sure stacking like crazy .these might take longer to dry.soo much bud around the main stem…I’m a little jelly 😆

Not much tacoing at this point, but i've eased off the cal/mag a bit most of the way so you maybe seeing that.

These are 65/35 indica over sativa but numerous reports have the high leaning to the sativa side. Don't know what to expect at this point. i just know a lot of people keep it in their garden after growing it which means a lot to me.

i don't really see any affects from the uv-b yet, but that will come near the end when it's on more........

The uvb just stresses them to produce more trichomes sshz?

Yes, resin production is a defense mechanism. The resin helps block the UV rays from damaging the leaves. Most agree there will be more resin if uv-b or a is used, although some feel the quality of the resin is reduced. Plants also use resin to fight off insects too.

Day 45 today, here's both sides before lights out. Between 15 and 18 days left i'm guessing.

i'm seeing some people take this strain to 10 weeks on Growdiaries, so i may have underestimated the flowering period.............it's somewhat doubtful it will be done in 13-16 days (60-63 total). Or maybe some will be finished
and other not.

Fuck 😍😍😍

i'm still not sure exactly how far i have to go......but there's some serious weight in here. These are dense and hard, which should also make an impact on the final weight of the room. 100 oz room easily..........

I’m running it at 60-65%, but last 2 weeks I’ll put it at 40-45% and try to suck out every oz of moisture I can. Dryness helps produce resin, another item resin does- it helps plants maintain moisture in dry conditions. So the dryer it is, the more resin is produced.

Only problem is, I’ll have to water more as it dries the pots quicker.

Oh yeah, 7 weeks done flowering today. Between 2-3 left, I don’t see it going any longer than that. I’m starting to see some browning up of buds, just the very beginning though.

Such a sick strain man. You really did what I hoped to do with mine with it. I found it to have straigh notes of Champagne when rub the trichs. Was my favorite strain to grow. Cheers to hopin you finish off flawlessly

Thanks Coco, can i ask how long you let yours flower for?
The 1st time from bean I believe was 9-10 weeks but the clone of it I accidentally sent into reveg and it took damn near 13 weeks and was crap because was super low THC all cause of me. Was my worst grow but but my fave strain

Clones normally takes less flowering time anyway, as they take on the mothers age along with their own ........the older the plant, the quicker it flowers. When I used to grow from clones, it would take 7-10 days off the normal flowering time. I'm seeing people take these between 60-70 days, and everywhere in between. My plan is to take them to 63 days, then quick dry a small bud in the food dehydrator and 4-5 hours later, I'll get a decent smoking assessment along with a view of the resin coloring. A week here or there doesn't matter, I want these to be top notch. Going from 63 to 70 days would probably also give me 10% more weight.
