CannaGranny’s Corner a Thread For General BS and Good Will On BudBuilders

Store bought chicken has seriously gotten bad in the last decade.
I am a seriously picky eater like a 7 year old child. 😁
I won't eat most of it.

I eat more things than I did as a kid but still picky. I won’t eat fat either. Don’t care how great the steak is I cut off the fat and gristle.

I was skinny as hell until I got married. She loved getting takeout for the first few years. Swiss Chalet was our go to.

you don't strike me as picky eater for some reason. it's a good thing you don't know how meat sticks are made!! haha

in high school i had a summer job in a local meatball/meatstick company. i still eat them once every few years but i've never eaten a processed meatball in my life that i know of.
In the 80’s I learned how chocolate milk was made at Silverwoods Dairy. Only started drinking it again since Covid.

Don’t do processed cheese either.

Another fan of Jack Sprat.
I just won't eat it.
Chocolate milk everyday for lunch last year straight.
Longer for sure but not missing many days at all lately.
Whole milk to boot~!
We have a great supplier from local dairies here called Stewarts.
Best milk and ice cream in NY year after year.
I eat like a child, peanut butter and jelly, yes please.

2% if drinking straight or adding chocolate powder. It’s pre made store bought chocolate milk I wouldn’t drink.

Raised by a single mom so she tried to get us to drink many different milk products. Powdered milk. I couldn’t do it. Freezing milk bags on sale and thawing later. I couldn’t do it. Coffee mate creamer powder, nope. Skim, homo, 1%…nope, nope, nope. Cooking with some was fine, just not drinking it. And has to be cold unless chocolate.

Lived off peanut butter. Don’t do jelly, not even donuts.

the first time i worked in china the guy at the company there asked me if i wanted some milk? i said ok.. thought it was a weird question to ask but thought hey different culture and all... well the dude spins his chair around and pulls a box of milk out of his desk!! like a juicebox type with a straw on it!!!!! hahahahaha ahhhh i'll save this for later... hahaha

you would be surprised just how many countries don't have cold fresh milk. we're the lucky few!!!!

Who enjoys a good, solid conspiracy theory?

This morning, we had a wide spread power outage in the SF Bay Area.
Way too widespread to be a simple auto versus pole outage.
While looking at the PG&E outage map, I noticed it looked like it had to originate at a major substation to our north.
Now during the power outage, I still had the ability to send and receive text messages and hit the PG&E website on a browser (I guess Verizon wasn’t affected by the outage, but that’s not the conspiracy).

I texted my GF to tell her what was going on, we exchanged about 20 messages during this time, only two messages failed to send.

Both messages contained the words terrorists and/or terrorism in them.
Messages right after those failed were successful, but didn’t contain those words.

I kid you not, the ONLY messages that wouldn’t send were the ones with those words.
Those were not longer messages than some others that did send.

Hmmm!

It's always some corporate or government sack that is behind it....maybe someone rich beyond control...

Been thinking about you being near those fires, my brother lives in Hollywood/LA guess the West edge of Hollywood he said it got close to him, he hadn't slept in a week and was going to be off work until it calmed down. Hope you and all yours are well and not effected

Fortunately, we’re about 350 miles north of the current fires.
When the south land was having 100 mph winds, we were getting 40 - 50 mph winds, which in times past would cause fires somewhere in the area.

Of course, we didn’t have an illegal alien hiking the hills with a large propane torch here (apparently), there was one arrested in the vicinity of all the fires in LA.

This is on our federal and state government. Allowing illegals in without vetting, redirection of budget from public services to DEI programs, shutting down and draining reservoirs. Our government did all this.

Always bitter sweet burning the last of a harvest, this is my last bowl of Deathstar cherry moonshine, until I grow more atleast

Kid got a hold of a permanent marker, finding all sorts of little decorations around in the master bedroom 🙄

I'm having trouble eating fucking anything without 6 shots of 100 proof and some blunts.

Shit is going to hit the fan eventually one way or another, within the next 2 years, maybe.
I mean, for the best, hope nothing does, not trying to fear monger or sound like a doomsday preppper or anything but just watching what China, Russia, and US is doing, another global war seems almost inevitable.

But, Time will Tell.

Tom, I was wondering about you! Here’s something that is circulating on the “back side”, don’t know if it’s true but found it interesting enough to screenshot. I will do some research on it. IMG_2877.jpeg

Yo yo, or that's how I say hi to the man that brings me snow

brief plant update:

so happy the one very small drip in the new system, assembled and running since last night has sealed itself. ph stable, ppm stable, water level slightly lowered, leaf reading.. good. all signs point to yes ;dance

filling up top off res now (have an RO system but no tank, i connect to sink and wait 2~ hours to get 4 gallons lol, took 2 days after work to get enough water for new system, now one more day for fill up)

We haven’t seen a new R & M in a few years. Have a few seasons on a HDD we watch when my buddy comes down. He loves it and has limited tv options up north.

Thanks for the offer. I’m not sure the iPhone can manage it but I can try an episode to test.

Sons big into anime. His best friend is Japanese and they follow different shows. He got me watching One Piece last year when I had nothing new to watch. I’ve seen them all now, up to 1122. New ones aren’t dubbed in English yet. He prefers the originals, I prefer to understand what they say. 🤷‍♂️

Live version wasn’t bad but my son won’t even watch one. Purists. 😂
Yes! I have been keeping torrented movies since the early 2000s, i think matrix 2 was my first download, divx format i believe.
Now I have a 2tb hard drive half full connected to the router so anyone connected to it can stream it. I hate when I want to watch a particular movie only to find it's not available to stream or behind a paywall of sorts.
i don't watch a lot of anime, but I really like Delicious in Dungeon that is on Netflix. it's available dubbed or original. As a RPG lover and someone who has played a decent amount of D&D, that show hits all the spots. The show is about the day to day and really what you eat while in a dungeon lol. So instead of using up rations, they learn what parts of a monster they can eat and how to cook in to a delicious meal. I bet your son watches the OG non-dubbed version, while I'm here waiting for a new dubbed episode release for months.

Where's the mac?

anybody else like peanut butter and cheese sandwiches?
never had that, but i have a lot of peanut butter & butter(margarine) sandwiches. those used to be my thing when i was young. moms got me on them. it's just a super creamy peanut butter sandwich
speaking of PB, i made my first peanut butter dream pie this past weekend. i'm like WTF?!?! how is this so good, so easy, and i never made it before??
i think it just like a tub of cool whip, half a block of cream cheese, 1/2-1cup PB (depending on pb fan status), and some amount of powdered sugar (i think 1/2-2/3 cup?). whipped up and thrown into a pie crust. freeze, and eat. fucking delicious AF!!!! i made my own graham cracker pie crust(easy as pie to do).
No shit, good as shit. I'm thinking next time i make i might pour some melted chocolate on top to get a hard layer of chocolate on top, or put some chocolate shavings on top.

(forgive the subpar crust, i half-assed crushing the graham crackers into powder, still good af!)

I wonder if it's like that all the time or because of the upcoming inauguration.

For better or for worse, I’ve had more problems with this influenza than from the fires and/or smoke.

This doggone thing has come back 5 times.
I ended up with pneumonia as of late last week, Z-pack kicked that and within 3 days it turned into a sinus infection.

I don’t know what this bug is, but it’s got my number. 21 days since I was “healthy”!

Back to feeling better today, but I’m so doggone gunshy at this point, I’ll wait a week or two before I consider myself out of the woods.

Avoid anyone hacking up a lung, it doesn’t turn out well.

I never thought about that, being mad they might be leaving so setting fire to the area... yikes...

Soooo, I ate cake..
It was good, damn good.
That’s all…

You touched on milk.........probably one of the worst things an adult can put in their body. I worked for Horizon Organic Dairy, at the time the only milk sold nationally and in every major supermarket. They were since bought out by Dean Foods, and then sold again at least 1 more time. If you only knew what I do..........

Milk can have health risks for adults, including:

  • Heart disease: Milk is high in saturated fat, which can increase the risk of heart disease.

  • Cancer: Dairy contains hormones and fat, which may increase the risk of breast, ovarian, and prostate cancers.

  • Digestive problems: Lactose intolerance affects many people, and dairy can cause gas, bloating, and indigestion.

  • Allergies: Milk allergies can cause vomiting, diarrhea, hives, and blood in the stool.

  • Acne: Dairy may increase the chances of breakouts.

    • Hip fractures: Some research suggests that drinking a lot of milk may increase the risk of hip fractures later in life.
    • Type 1 diabetes: Dairy may increase the risk of type 1 diabetes.
    • Circadian rhythm: Milk can disturb your circadian rhythm.
