We have the little rug in the middle for our feet, then a tarp under the tent to protect the tent and a little buffer from the dew. What do you use to protect the tent floor from the feet going through?
Over the years we tried different sleeping arrangements. Just sleeping bags, yoga mats under, foam pads, cots, they all have plus or minuses. Another factor was if we off-roaded into the site or hiked in. We even followed old train track beds to dead/abandoned stops/towns to setup camp. Cool in the day. Creepy and spooky at night. No one let the camp fire die those trips. Lol
We were right under an oak tree, must have been thousands of acorns around! So funny whenever the wind blew they would drop and hit our tent like hail

With the cots you are so comfortable, no mat needed, a sleeping bag if it's cold or just a sheet in the summer
