Chocolate Chunk + Purple Hindu Kush in Flood & Drain coco/perlite by Bandit420

They have it too. Tried to print but one of the spools had the filament break off. Son doesn’t want me to disassemble the print head so I’ll wait until he’s up tonight before we fix things.

You answered a question about e-rigs before I had a chance to ask. I had bought a Lobo for one of my daughters. Now I'm looking at e-rigs for my dabbing daughter. I should probably revisit, but a couple experiences I with wax weren't to my liking. I haven't given it a fair shot, tho. Point is, I don't know what to look for and have just been watching and reading reviews. The Bomb Skycloud and the Peak are standing out, just based on what the web has offered me. Sounds like between those two, you prefer the Peak. @GrumpAzz and @Stoneyluv both seem to like their Peaks, too. Damn shame... that spinner is cool 😜. A Proxy is in the mix, too. FIgure that's a little easier to transport, but not really sure what she'd prefer.

Slick move incorporating the Mammoth UV bar into your CLW rig.

That Purple Hindu Kush 👀

I would probably keep the shopping limited to Puffco or Bomb for the Erig. I have a Pulsar Rok and a Lookah which are okay and they work but nothing like what Puffco and Bomb deliver. It's the 3D chamber and while some look the same and are advertised like they're the same, they're not.
I'd avoid anything with a coiled atomizer too. They were good when we didn't have 3D chambers but now that we do, coils are primitive, messy, and wear out.
I really like the Puffco Proxy and it's versatility but it's for a single person and not a party piece. The Bomb Magic Bean is kinda interesting too but small and probably more comparable to the Puffco Pivot.

How's your daughter like the Lobo?
It's my daily vape for morning dog walks and I even make mouthpieces for them!
Ordered borsilicate glass tubes from amazon that fit and made a 3D printable design that kinda shows off the window and wraps the glass with a tentacle.
I'm working another design that wraps the glass in a flame. I can make them for yours if ya want too!

With two people working in hospital we’ve had Covid a few times. First was the worst, so much pain like every place you had a break or wound in the past all hurt again at the same time. That lasted 5 days with crazy fever.

The last time was early this year. Almost a normal flu that wasn’t long lasting for most symptoms but my sense of smell hasn’t fully returned yet! Nose is runny more often as well, mostly in the mornings, still.

It was a beast of a bug for us. More so for my wife and yeah it attacked every past pain and ailment on me so my bad shoulder, back, and anything arthritic were inflamed. 4-5 days for me and about 9 for my wife.

I wanted a wallet that looked like I could pay Imperial Credits if I needed to bribe any Imperial patrols on a smuggling run and I think I have one

IMG_2730[1].jpegIMG_2733[1].jpeg

I'm gonna change the lever and back sliding cover color away from the blue transparent.
Transparent filament is fun to play with on these but I also wanna do some parts to glow in the dark or maybe even have a small light built in.
I can also change the window to something else like a pot leaf, honeycomb, naked woman silhouette...anything!

Where's a guy gotta go to get a new one of those glass carb caps for my OG peak? I've been using this marble I found in the road but it's all sticky..
View attachment 119017

As a carb cap snob, I'm frightened of that yet strangely aroused?
Whoever was selling the titanium job I have was kicked off amazon and never to be heard from again. I guess selling vape parts is frowned upon.
I've bought parts from Puffco, Pulsar, Drip Glass, Smoke Cartel, Tako Glass and maybe a few more. All sorts of sales going and I'd say Pulsar might have the most to offer right now

;bbuild

Setting the stage today.
Dug out all my C-vaults and gave them an iso bath. Same for a collection of Steeltainers and the new Rubbermaid Brilliance containers. I think I have close to 9 gallons of storage capacity for the cure.
Ready to hang and machine dry

IMG_2719[1].jpeg

These Chocolate Chunks are pretty much Afghani sisters to the Purple Kush and another throwback to the late 90s and those sacks of fat, dense rock like, chunky nugs alongside strains like the old Widows and NYCD being sold back then.
Big bulbous colas that will fill the coffers!
No chance they're ever gonna "eat" their pistils like hybrids. They wanna just keep chunking out until death so I'm making the call on trichs, color, and will to keep living.
Buds have swollen and swallowed up 3 point leaves on many. The stink is very loud rancid skunk and used up portapotty. No way they can hold themselves up and have been both netted from below and yoyo'd from up top. Density is solid firm and very weighty.

No hermies or mutants to report despite my room never being 100% dark and the control wall being lit up like Darth Vader's chest each night.
Nothing but good things to say about sourcing genetics from Grower's Choice in Elk Grove, Ca. Yep, same EG as Kyle Larson's hometown! Small world.

Bugs? Fuck if I know. These ladies all got bombed early and never saw anything fly or crawl.
Avoided bud rot like a champ with all the air flow and never had anything like PM.
Some nute burn and a couple burned themselves on hot lights.
Trellising has been a fight with the monsters.
Bumper crop.

how did i not know that growers choice was in elk grove? crazy cool!!!!

i gotta say this current round was my first in a long time that i didn't have a single weirdo.

.

killer ass crop man!! they look like a dream to trim, if ya even wanna call it a trim.. maybe a pluck!!! haha gave em a good pluckin'!! haha

.

hey i've been wanting to ask you bro, how did the parchment in the jars work out? i have some older jars that i really like but they're tric stealers big time..

i even have some of that slick sheet left, i was thinking of trying to line one and was wondering how it worked out for you?

I even looked to see if maybe there were precut parchment bowls I might be able to use for the c-vaults.
That's the one thing Grove really had going too was the slick inside.
That's something I'm always gonna do as a long as I grow. Plus it keeps the container from getting gunked up and ya never know man that could also hold bacteria and stuff but yeah not losing trichs to the container is the main reason.
Haven't had a bad cure yet doing it IDK, but kinda like the paper bag drying method, does a nice job keeping the terps in the flowers and not gassing off.
Just popped this one open from last Winter's grow. Kind of a mixed multi strain hybrid stash of 2nd tier quality nuggetry that's cured wrapped up in parchment and smelling like sour milk and a gas leak

My wife works in a hospital, but I'm pretty sure I'm the one that brought Covid home the only time we've knowingly had it, 🤪. Probably low infection rate for us due to a mix of dumb, but good, luck and the wife and her co-workers following solid preventive practices.

Now, my dad may hold some kind of a record for how many times he's had Covid or bugs with similar symptoms. I blame it on the huge church he attends. Not all, but too many, people that attend services there believe faith cancels science. Petri dish venues like that make my personal top 10 list of "Best Places to Get Sick". Right up there with elementary schools and cruise ships/airplanes.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It really means something to know your first time purchase out of a field of options comes with good recommendations. She's a wonderful daughter. Life has thrown her a few curveballs over the last couple of weeks, too. Her Blue tongued skink passed a couple weeks back. She got him when she was in middle school. Then we had a cat pass Friday that had attached itself to her. Sorta like my daughter's little muse. So, it'll be nice to surprise her with something.

That I won't know for a couple more days. I haven't seen her since The Lobo was delivered, but she'll be home for Thanksgiving. Not gonna lie, I want to check it out and see if it's something I'd like to get for myself. I bought her the blue version with the starter pack. If she likes it, that'll leave room for some gift accessories for Christmas.

That tentacle print wrapping the glass is too cool.

Those look pretty neat. It still surprises me that you can print something that durable at home. So much I don't know about 3D printing...

On a whim, I switched to what I thought was a minimalist wallet from a company called Fidelo about 5 years ago. Nothing fancy, but super durable and with RFID scan blocking. I love the way it spreads out all of the cards when I slide the lever. Like @Zen_seeker, I was tired of sitting on a traditional wallet. I've been considering sizing down again and getting a new one that's still front pocketable, but also capable of magnetically attaching to my phone case. I went through my wallet the the other day and realized I can cut the cards I carry in half again. Insurance and RX cards, stuff that we used to need a physical version of are now on our ever present smartphones just like our Apple Pay and similar. Been that way for a while, but i'm never on the cutting edge.

Son had to go to work so I got permission to fix his printer. 🤣

The filament seemed to be brittle or something. Broke in over a dozen spots in the feed tube. Checked the next few feet and it’s fine? IDK why but it’s okay now I think.

I printed the inside parts in the suspect grey filament and the outsides in black. For some reason one part of the outside had the grey still and it didn’t bond properly. I’ll have to reprint that part later.

This is what I got after cleaning it up this morning. IMG_7807.jpeg

No idea what the rectangular parts are for yet. 😂

Our hospital follows the rules well and my wife has always kept on top of keeping things clean. She cleans the phone and PC keyboard every day and her hands get so dry NF cracked from using the alcohol gel cleaner.

My son was doing garbage and custodial work at the time. So I’m sure he brought it home a few times. They toss crap everywhere in the rooms.

I know we’ve had it at least 3 times as we tested. I’m pretty sure it’s been more like 5-6. I had it earlier this year and my sense of smell still isn’t back 100%.

Yep, I agree 100%. Once our kids were out of school our health improved greatly. Lol

My wife still uses a mask on public transit. I don’t blame her with the way people are these days. Larger cities have become very dirty and people have back slid when it comes to hygiene and being polite.

Yep. That's where the luck part of things i was talking about comes in. You can do everything you're supposed to do, but, once someone enters your controlled environment or you leave it, there are too many unmanageable things that are beyond our control.

It works well. The tensioner screw makes it work. Only down side is some cards are smaller than others so they can fall out. I’d set it to the right tension for the smallest card I plan to carry in it and then shave the other cards if needed.

Unfortunately it’s not for me. It’s cool, seems to work well, but I carry cash and other things like insurance card and other non credit card type items. So it would end up being yet another thing in my pockets.

My son, wife, or buddy will get it. If you make one Bandit use the one that holds more cards. I know a guy modded one to hold more cards but I’m not sure if it’s posted. But you can mod yours yourself.

Outstanding grow Bandit~!

Looks like the 1st will come down today, 3 more tomorrow, and the rest as they finish it out over the next week or two.

From the very beginning I tuned out everything aside from what our team doctor was telling us in zoom meetings.
It seemed like the world was burning and there was only one sober voice of reason and he got us all thru it.
A few got it but was isolated and stamped out early. Never spread which was shocking because being around 120 college age young men....they're fucking nasty Y'all. But still, never got it.
I t5hink today, all guard is down. I got the first two vax shots but none since. That never freaked me out considering all the vax I got in the Army but once the big wave was over I wasn't getting another just like I don't get flu shots anymore.
I didn't even know it was still going around.

Sure man, anytime!
We're all here to talk shop and relay our experiences, good, bad, and mediocre!
It's funny but I've never been a wallet in my back pocket guy. Things in my back pockets weird me out and some of my pants and shorts don't even have them lol.
Unless I'm shopping at HEB, Costco, or the head shop where I keep it in a front pocket, my wallet is always in my backpack. Same for my phone.
IDK if backpacks are a culture thing since I work at a university but Y'all had me thinking about this and taking notice...everybody I know uses a backpack. I can't even remember a time I wasn't using a backpack. I even travel with a RF blocker backpack. Like everywhere I go, I have a backpack with me and my wallet goes inside it.

Early returns.
That wookie fuzz died back and natural light...or light that's not super fucking intense LED grow light, reveals the greezy treasure underneath

IMG_2748[1].jpeg

Early test is she's potent AF! Half a doob down and had to back away. Uncured too lol.
Aroma is classic skunk weed with a sweet and earthy sandlewood incense bitterness mixed in. No metallic flavor which is nice and a reflection of the food IMO.
I think it could compete well in a taste test with organics.
Wasn't grown 100% synthetic or organic by mixing the two. Synthetics thru the grow and organics to ripen and finish worked great.
Changing nutes midflower is probably frowned upon by many but as in ancient times, fortune favors the bold and I'll always grow with boldness lol.

Feeling really good about what went down with this grow, taking these dated genetics from the 90s, and bringing them back.
They never went to shit. They just got diluted by all the hybrids and phased out by the latest name craze on instagram.
I can't even get over the difference between this and that Ice Cream Cake stuff my neighbor gave me that has people raving about it. I don't get it. Hardly any flavor and muted effects of another average and over hyped hybrid. If I let him hit this, it's gonna knock him into the dirt!!

90s are back here at The Hideout! Next stop is a visit to 1967, another trip to 1995, and something for the millennials in a 2008 cut. Hell yeah!
Even my tunes are being thrown back to match this weed. This one had some of my guys rolling last night.
Something about a 52 year old white dude jammin to BTH gets these genZ'ers going bonkers. I din't think they even knew about this!

I'm working with a totally different design and now I'm thinking about opening up an Etsy store.
Mine are lever action and hold up to six cards or inserts can be printed to hold only 1-5 cards.
I remixed the top on Tinkercad and can now make the window into anything.

I've made this one for medical marijuana card holders. It also has a key ring loop and for this one, the bill compartment can hold some papers. May make it deeper to hold a joint in there or also make matching doob toobs and Bic lighter sleeves.
I wanna clean up the top layer and maybe see if these things can generate a little xtra income. Being 3 color, it's begging for a rasta version too.

Rivalry week and it's almost show time!!!

I really need to come up with a rewards game plan and follow thru with it. Too many brain farts this year and I missed the garage experience by only 250 points. I forgot all about black friday then when I looked, all the experiences had either been gobbled up or removed for BF.
It's only strengthened my resolve. I will get into that garage and the year after, I'm gonna wave that green flag at qualifying.
In the meantime...free tix and some swag aint a bad consolation prize on the season!

More race news for 2026...Briscoe got a new livery for a few races including COTA next season....

And I'm adding to my own stable of racers with a dirt oval and short course RC car & truck for some Winter fun!

I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving!!
It's a working holiday for me but wouldn't have it any other way really. Yesterday was super fun with an empty city and even emptier campus.
We did a little something different than turkey and fixins for dinner. Chicken cacciatore!

I have a roll of parchment and old squishing sheets I plan to use on all my containers. I really don't know why that's not a thing but it should be!
Kind of a mixed multi strain hybrid stash of 2nd tier quality nuggetry that's cured wrapped up in parchment and smelling like sour milk and a gas leak

thanks for the tip man ^^ i really wanna use those older jars so i'm gonna find a way to fold the parchment just right to catch everything!! i'm gonna try it out on my recent hydro harvest.

Hehehe...I saw this on the interweb and thought somebody musta read this grow journal ;smoke

Haha! Little stink eye from that gal! Don't tell her I had some chicken noodle soup for dinner last night too!

That's funny because I'm planning on coating my KOTH guys and putting them on my backyard fence. All except for Dale. He stays in the g/room. Like every piece of art before him, a little stays behind so like the Golden Girls and some space stuff, Dale will stay. As will Rome but I got some new pieces on the way to rep the next grow.
Looks like I need to send you some shark swag! I think I have some Great White posters I got from their sales rep. Also have some Sharknado 3 swag and shark teeth but best of all...a shark with a freakin laser attached to it's head Dr. Evil style!!!!

I'd probably still use jars if they were easier to get the paper down in there but it can be done. The wider the mouth the better so you can fit your fist down in there and shape it to fit. Or yeah...get into some origami. My fat hand is too wide as a fist to fit into jars.

The containers I use aside form the C-Vaults are about the size of jars but work as if a jar opened from the side wall. The air tight and liquid tight thing is the same. So it was never about jars vs everything else or this container being better than the next but more so about what's easiest to line with parchment to preserve those buds as best as possible and not lose oil to the jar. Keeping the buds in the dark was a plus as well, eliminating the need for more expensive UV blocking glass jars. Also fit for storage...round pegs in square holes deal. Square pegs just fit better in the square hole lol.

Another thing I've adopted and really like is doing that final trim and manicure after drying with a silicone brush and catching every loose bit in a BBQ foil pan to be made into hash. I got a multipack of those brushes and they've been a gamechanger not needing micro snips and not getting my hand all sticky or needing gloves.

Loving this Ecowitt stuff man

Watched the heating spike in real time to see what two 20x20 heat mats and the warmth of the SS275 would give me.

This was done while it was dark and cold, air temps down in the 40s outside the tent.
Got almost a 30 degree bump!!! One more heat mat may give me what I need here but maybe sealing the tent will do well too.
I have a thermostat on the way to get on/off control of the heat output and will seal the tent today to see what more I can get out of it.
If it comes down to needing to seal the tent to retain heat then I'll probably add a small co2 gen using baking soda and vinegar to help improve the air quality for plants.
DGAF about the low RH right now. Main focus is get those temps up in a range that will give new starts some vigor and not limp out of birth.
Now that the Sun is up and warming the carport, the tent is up to 75! Close! If it gets to 80, game on!!!!

I also love how it picks up the probes and devices on it's own! No pushing buttons and watching flashing lights to connect! It just happens!
One of the new remote probes is here and already linked up.
I think a good tight fitting cap made of TPU will seal up this battery cap or even liquid electrical tape will do it. Make it marine grade lol.

Why do you have a shark with a laser on its head? 🤣

What about that flex seal or other spray can of liquid rubber? Might go on easier than the liquid electrical tape. (My electrical comes in a can with a brush, like pvc glue.)
You should be able to tape off a section and spray it.

The real question is why don't YOU have a shark with a freakin laser on it's freakin head?!

Almost anything could make the cap water tight if it's not already.
I think the big question for me is if the "max depth" stamp on the side is suggestion. If not then I have other probes that can go deeper. I know what it's meant to do but I wanna know if it has limits beyond that.
Here's all three together. I've already had the ACI buried up to the wire and used as a continuous monitor.
Like an alien, I'm fixin' to do some probin'!👽

is that middle one pulse pro? i didn't even know you had three brands of meters! haha thought you were just comparing two.

Two brands but three probes. The center one with the wire and display box is also Ecowitt. That's the one that grabbed me because it's meant to be out in weather with the box mounted to a pole outside and the probe down in the Earth.

Either it or one of the wireless probes will be buried in the Earth out back, in my garden bed for peppers.
That's why I need to know what their limits are. I'd like to bury the wireless and carry the wired around the yard with me to probe every container I have. Or maybe I need another wired, one for the bed and one for my belt lol.

Another thing I need to find are the ranges of the wifi. The garden bed is kinda far so IDK how strong the signals are yet and if I can do what I want.
I also have the Ecowitt rain gauge coming so I can track what that gives me in the garden too.
Much of this is really to get a better veggie garden next year and help me know more about the drought, being more efficient with water and all that.

Sealed up the tent and got a little more heat out of it today. Warm enough to get a garden going!!!;rockb

Couple things though....Since they're only $11 right now, I ordered another 20x20 heat mat for the back wall of the tent so I'll wait on it.

The other thing being the heat mats are brand spanking new and when warm, have that plastic off gas odor going.
IDK if that shit is toxic to plants or not so I'm gonna go ahead and let them run for maybe a week or so before I think about growing in the tent.
I opened it today and got a big ol wiff of warm plastic so better to let that shit air out.
In the meantime, the grow room will likely open and be ready so I may not even start my next grow in the tent but I still wanna get it ready for starting veggies in January/February.

You can always stick the sensor in the side of the pot at any depth you like. Just cause most only use the top of pot that don't mean a thing.

Electric is a bit different than tension tech. The electric blade style use a series of sensors sandwiched between two blades. They're stacked similar to how the buttons are on the inside of an elevator.
Each row of sensors represent a % range.
You can find out how many sensors and the % of each row by sticking the probe in a glass and slowly filling it with water.
As each sensor gets covered with water it will move the % up on the meter.
ACI has 5 rows of sensors in the blade so when water just covers the tip or first row of sensors, it reads 20% because even though the tip is wet, the total is calculated with the dry sensors giving it a 20% wet reading. With the probe half covered, it will read 50% and so on.
It's designed to combine the moisture within a soil column, giving you a total % so if the bottom is soaked but the top dry, it will give you that average at 50% or whatever combo of sensors are triggered wet and dry.

The moisture samples taken by the sensors when turned horizontal, turns that elevator into a hallway now only serving one floor. It's also going to give you a reading based mostly off how deep you stick it into the side so if the pot is wet there and you stick the blade all the way in, it may give you a 100% wet reading when the upper area is really dry and not being accounted for in the reading.
In relative to something like the old metal probe style I'd say it's sample size is about the size of a pencil eraser while the blade style set vertical is a sample the length and diameter of a marker pen and horizontal would be the same length of the pen but paper thin only where you stick it in the side if that makes sense.
TLDR, accuracy goes way down using these probes horizontal.;)

Thanks OC. Hopefully 75', 4 walls, and about 4-6 inches of dirt is about the same as 300' of open field ;smoke

Later days moisture probe! See ya in the Spring or whenever you're battery runs dead, whichever comes first!

Did a quick test and the ecowitt's are pretty much the same as ACI with the stacked rows of sensors. I didn't count them or divide percentage but most single blade probes are 5-7 rows.
In the cup above, the top row of sensors seems to be dry so it's giving a 90% reading even though most of the probe is under water.
If you opened one up, you'll see rows similar to this with each row repping a % of the total.

Soil-Moisture-Sensor-Module-Probe.jpg

I have this one buried about as deep as where I think the meat of some pepper plant rootballs will be living and covered it with about 6-8" of loose potting mix from past ganja grows.

I used a cup of water for moisture but also filled the cup with dirt so it wicks it out and I can see if the probe is transmitting.
Soil is super dry so it should soak up the water like a sponge in short order.
Seems to be working as normal even though it's buried way past it's max depth line.
Time will tell when we get some weather.
