Is there any truth to the saying 'bigger the roots, bigger the fruits' when growing cannabis?

This is because people try to treat it like soil and peat. You need to think hydro. Plus you meed to use small containers like 1-2 gal or high amounts of perlite to compensate.
It seems to be what new growers use with no experience growing and it ends up a disaster. New growers flock to Coco cause its what the cool kids grow in but its not as easy as peat based mixes and doesn't require constant ph adjustments, water or feed every 3-4 days grow weed.....its just too easy to grow in to want to change.

I fricken love coco coir. You got me hooked @Aquaman . I think this will be my last run with DynaGro. It grows great plants and is dirt cheap. But I am a terp chaser and DynaGro can lack in the terpene department. Maybe I should add some black strap molasses or something.

If anyone has any good nutrient brands I am all ears. Looking for something easy that has better terpene production.
Add mag sulphate 2-3 grams per gallon the last week of flower or so. Helps with the burn and sulphur is essential to maximizing terps

I do 4 plants in a 4x4 tent. I would really appreciate the list. Every time I start trying to figure out what I would and wouldn't need, I get a lil overwhelmed and don't make a decision lol.

Ao thats like $80 with a pump and you can make about 10 autofeed systems from this. You just need a $25 pump for each system.

You also could probably run 20 plants off this if you wanted

Yep the method that works for you ia the best method.

Coco is just much faster. I have done promix HP and liked it but for me it was way to slow. To each their own. I don’t think its so much the cool kids thing as it is the results they see from it when done right..

For comparison it would be like doing high fertigation in promix. It would be a disaster as it need a wet/dry cycle. No matter the grow style there are right and wrongs ways to do it and you can’t treat coco like soil or even promix for that matter

Hey, in the autopots now & there is no wet/ dry cycle and the soil stays moist through out the grow almost to the top of the pot. Its the lack of needing to PH my input liquids or maintain a specific PH that too me makes it an easier grow medium. I know nothing else so there's that too but I see very few online folks using PM or other peat based soils and tons struggling in coco.

By the cool kids comment I meant the good growers the kids look up to and want to emulate.

I agree with you on promix i have stopped checking PH about a year ago and have not had any problems.

Yeah it contains a very good buffering mix. It stays almost rock solid no matter what tou run through it
I can't remember the old guys handle over at the shit farm but he made a lot of hash and was the guy who got me off the PH up & down in Promix when I was trying to keep the ph in check. He claimed PH up & or Down killed the buffers and once used in your nutes you'll need to keep using it because you've killed the buffers in the it. I haven't monitored my PH in years now. I'll check my input liquid every now and then for kicks but no adjustments needed. That alone is enough reason for me to stay with it. Like I said I see so many struggling with ph fluctuations, buying expensive PH pens and cooking their plants. 50//50 PM & perlite seems too simple to want to change

Shouldn't u have some of those? Lol

Idk, ive not used ProMix though.
With all your experimenting you haven't used Promix the wonder soil??? I'm shocked!...lol...I'm actually in Greenworlds ASB. VPW30, its about $10/bale cheaper & works the same. They have VPW420 specifically formulated for Cannabis but it costs the same as PM so fkem the VPW30 works great.1729430721663.png

When I went to my local grow supply store to buy some coco. The dude tried to get me to try PM. But I already had my mind made up. I may have to give it a go at some point. Not having to ph the nutrient mix sounds very tempting but seems to good to be true. Lol

Never heard of this product before went online and can get at home hardware. 50 litre bags of the VPW420 was on sale so i ordered 5 bags on sale for 15.99 each free shipping to store. I see they have a starter charge of nutes with me starting from seed in final pot i hope the mix is not to hot.

I have always said there ia no need to ph promix it has the buffers in it. I think you are talking about MiMedGrower?

I used canna at first. Had good luck with it. But they didn't have any at my local grow store and I didn't want to pay the 20$ shipping fees. So I got Char Coir. It's not bad. Canna is better but for half the price it was worth it.

If it works then it works…. Personally for me its the pest free guarantee

I don't feed for 15-18 days then 2/2/2 ml/gal M/G/B+ 1tsp epsom salts,

Yes, I used to give him a hard time about his clean set up. didn't look like a pot smokers grow, well to me anyways. He was almost sterile in his room, good grower, he didn't like my topping either, said bending was the way to go. We learn from all sorts of growers, even those a bit odd...lol

Ahhh thats because he just became a mod there at that time. Yeah i liked the guy. He was a good shit.
When I found the Farm I had a beauty growing but it started to stunt, I was taught about PH and thought I'd found the cure to all my grow problems. I religiously checked and monitored my input liquids and I made sure they were at 6.50ph in Promix....perfect 3 months later my big beautiful girl was still in veg and dying...wtf...I ph'd everything

I was asked what my run off ph was.....run off ph???? okay so I checked...4.8 again wtf I've been perfect. So apparently ph products can accumulate in the soil putting my root zone in stress at 4.80ph....

You guys got me back with dolomite lime and I turned out a nice plant...No more PH up or Down goes into my nute mix and that was confirmed by Nick. I've been ph up or down free since. I think I'm lucky though I'm on a well with 7.2 - 7.4 ph so adding my nutes bring me into the mid 6's, someone with 8.5 ph water

Yeah MIMed helped me out when I was first starting out .

i lmiss Gnome JWM2,jumpin cactus.ol mate from just down the road 0ne Drop. That chick Sea Maiden was a wealth of knowledge..I liked how Midwest toker grew and since then have grown similar to his grows..

I stopped using ph up/down once I figured out how to properly mix my nutrients. I have had much better success since I stopped using them.
