You can cut the top off and make a clone under 12-12.
I've bad eye's but I've been told if they are mature enough they will put out a single pistil being male or two pistils indicating female but they have to be 6-7-8 weeks old....grey matter and all. Someone else may pipe up. I have to flip to tell but I'm flipping at 5-6 weeks old so they're probably not mature enough for me to see them.
I can manipulate the internode spacing with far reds.....its really kinda cool using them intermittently 1 week at a time for 15 min at lights out has a big effect on the space between the nodes and vertical growth. I had them on for 1 week 2-3 of life. I've now had them on for 4 days at lights out again after topping a bunch and they've stretched out again. I have to be careful, last run I grew out of space playing with them.
I like this idea, it’ll be more manual for me since I don’t have a spectrum tunable light but seems like a potentially very useful.

Oh yes you're right, not all tall big thick stalk plants are male but its a first clue. You are 100% some of my best plants have started looking like males and its a nice surprise when they aren't. I've grown fems for years but in the past regs were all I had.
No in veg, 5 reg seeds 1 for sure will be male and its not 100% but enough to make a trend that tall big fast growing end up male. Within the first couple of weeks - 3 weeks you'll notice it.
I think it was @freezeland that sends a sample away to get tested and finds out in 2 weeks what they are..
