Newbs 1st grow! Complete failure or a "by the skin of my teeth" documentary 🤔🫣

Here's a picture of all 3 strains in the same tent. 3 each from left to right: Gorilla Roadkill, Dante's Inferno, LemonGrass. I don't know why they wouldn't be able to share the same space in a hydro system. They all have done fine so far in soil. The picture is recent from only a few days ago.

U don't mess around much huh! Looks nice! What led do you use?

What LED I'm using depends on which tent I'm using. This tent is my AC Infinity 5 x 5. It has a nanolux 640w foldable with 660nm red built into the fixture. In there with it is eight 660/730nm sunboards powered by meanwell drivers. I also have 2 440nm 55watt blues by Mars Hydro, 2 660nm 55watt reds by mars hydro, and 2 30 watt 730 far reds by SpiderFarmer. My main light is currently set to level 4 which is 420 watts. I also have 2 sets of the AC Infinity Ionbeams for sidelighing. In the picture they are on although I am not using those for the grow just yet.

Tent #2 is an oversized 4x8 by agromax. It has 2 ROI E-720 fixtures by grower's choice. They are controlled by the grower's choice light controller. The lights also have supplemental UV/IR bars on them. Great setup but a bit more costly to run than the other tent. That's why its not currently in use.

Edit: with all the lights on.

Are those cages in or around your pots? I still can't tell or are they bags?

The are inside the bags. The legs of the cages do tunnel water so watering can be a bit tricky. The boot tray in the middle is so we can easily slide the 2 middle plants out to allow access to the plants in the back of the tent. Those 2 plants come out on watering day ... or any day we are giving them some plant care. They will be coming out today so I can take cuttings.

The bags are cheap 3 gallon bags I found on Amazon. I like these because they are deeper and not as wide as most other. The fabric isn't quite as heavy as AC Infinity fabric pots ... but its far from cheaply made and I like them.

Hows this info?
It means your water supplier is using chlorine, not chloramine, so you can dissipate the chlorine out of it. Ascorbic acid (vitamin c) will also neutralize it. Either way works to bring your water to a dechlorinated state.

By the way, we're trying to figure out the best way to ship clones in northern, often frozen parts of the USA. Any ideas?

Lost me there mate? Clones shipping? my water should be alright so long as its left to sit? 👌
Your water is fine. Even with chlorine its usually fine for most uses. Many people want the chlorine gone and out of the way. It's certainly better to use dechlorinated water if you're making a microbial tea. Otherwise, the loss of microbes is short lived ... like replaced in less than a half hour after your done watering.

Well good thing I decided to keep that auto! Tent is looking bare after getting rid of the herms. Before the deforestation

Sucked cuz they were healthy and looking productive. They had some decent root systems going I think?

Bright side of the ordeal, the auto isn't getting crowded anymore. I think maybe I locked it up though?

Nute burn? I'm gonna just drain the dwc and keep the ppm (500 scale) around 600? It drinks like 1 gal a day, not taking in the nutes though. It's like a week or two from chop i believe? Sprouted 11/28 and is supposed to be a 10-12 week flower plant. Suggestions @Aqua Man @moe.red @steamroller and anyone else!!

Sounds good. Lower N and higher K ratio not a bad idea to start adding 1 gram per gal of Epsom salt either in the last couple weeks.

At this point its just getting them across the finish line

Just did the change. After checking the nute reg I've been following thus far, kept the ppm at 370, ph 6, and added the epsom... I hope I at least get this one through the line lol From what I had been following w nutes, it also says to add Epsom. I overlooked that part, thanks for the reminder u weed wizards!!

Howdy! My sole survivor I believe is getting pretty close, another week or two maybe? Trichromes are getting milky? but no amber yet that I can see. I have a loupe, but have been using my s23 ultra just cuz it seems easier. What do you all use?
20250306_073056.jpg

And is this possibly a potassium deficiency?

Yeah minor though

Salutations! Here's where I'm at now and my dilemma of how to proceed. A week ago I pulled the remaining 3 herms and was left w the one auto that sprouted 106 days ago. After I did that, I started spreading out the plant(under the trellis net) and got probably 15 more sites in better light spots and they started taking off but the other original sites are at the stage of getting cut. Do I do a dual harvest or just 🪓 the whole thing, and clear out the tent in the anticipation of getting 4 clones in about 10 days? 1st pic is a pic of the biggest, frostiest cola, 2nd is of the stage of the upcoming sites.
2025_03_11_14_26_01_287.png20250311_144553.jpg
As always, any and all suggestions/opinions much appreciated!

Salutations all! So i spent a few hrs rearranging my bedroom to fit the 2x4 aci tent(so I can dry) arriving tmrw in hopes of doing a dual harvest. I hopefully will have some clones to fill the empty 4 sites sometime next week thanks to the wonderful @MiGrampa !! I have a gg clone tent already which is ass backwards from where I'm at atm, but I guess that means I'll be looking into cloning soon! Looking forward to drying some busty colas tmrw!!!

Salutations you beautiful ppl! Have the tent set up for drying, just waiting on a friend(has grown b4) to stop by to help/manage the cutting. I'll be cutting 70% of the plant and am looking at 3 different options to do such. 1st, I have a basket, or I can run lines across the tent and hang the colas from that w some thread through the stems? Or just say fuck it and hang the entire plant? Hanging the entire plant I think would be bad as I did barely any trimming on the auto and it's just a thick, bushy girl and would defeat getting the new sites into a decent smoke. ANY ALL SUGGESTIONS WILL BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED! @moe.red @Aqua Man @steamroller and all the other knowledgeable peeps on this wonderful site lol!!!

I loop a small chain in my room and use pipe cleaners to hang branches or even whole plants.
Take buds off the auto so you keep it going if you want and take a whole plant if it is done.
Remove the big fans from the whole plant as the stems will have enough moisture.
For branches you can leave the leaves on it to help control how fast it dries.

Ima wet trimmer myself. I put manicured buds in my dry station then move to glass jars to cure after about a week.

Like steam said I would definitely at least remove the big fans.

People who hang dry swear by those silicone food brushes to clean up the buds once the leaves dry.

I think it all works, key is to manage water levels in the plant and air - last thing you want is to mold your precious harvest once you pull it down. If you have trouble keeping RH down, the more leaves you remove now that you are going to remove later anyhow the less water you need to deal with. If RH is not a problem, you have lots of options, they all work and becomes a personal preference you will figure out over time.

Congrats on getting some to the end. May not be exactly what you hoped for, but you got an education and some weed too!

A sandwich bag, and a paper towel worked for me before. Careful with not too much water.

Funny you said it may not be what I hoped for lol Turns out this one getting chopped also is a herm lol FML!!! I'm leaning more towards my environment caused all of the herms and the male. But yeah, the education has been well worth the dismall results :) Still gonna dry and cure the buds. The tops are bean free, just the mid-lower sites have them nasty bees. Currently I am wet trimming and throwing those in a hanging basket. Fudge this is a LOT of work!

It is ... it's why my strains I'm running are grouped with a 7-8 week flowering cycle, a 8-9 week flowering cycle, and a 10 week flower cycle. 3 plants each strain. This way the process is spread out and its not coming at you all at once.

I wet trim and dry on a shelf in my drying area.

Edit: I don't know the whole story about your grow's environment, but I'm not convinced its that. Light leaks maybe? It would be more likely. Any LEDs shining inside the grow tent that aren't covered up when lights are off? Even green ones? (I don't trust them). It's either that or bad genetics is what I would think.

I dropped the ball on that than, no one to blame but myself :( Maybe next round I'll do better? We'll see. Fitting title for this thread though lol

What are you thinking happened? If it were my grow area, I would sit inside the tent with the lights off to see if you see any leds from equipment that might be in there. Heaters, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, even grow light control panels. If you don't see anything or if you see an over-looked light leak from the outside, you know where its at and can fix it.

My money says genetics is the issue.

Yeah, I'm leaning into light leaks. I let my neighbor and her daughter to take my bed for a weekend. it was -20 or more at night and the parent neglected keeping up w the bills, so no heat or electricity. So I'm pretty good at not having lights on in my bedroom after the tent light goes off. Pretty sure when they stayed, they were not vigilant about no lights going on in the room after tent light went out.

I only have my fans and light w it's ballast in the tent.
