1-4% of Substrate volume for "Vegetative" Growth. /steering

4-8% of Substrate volume for "Generative" Growth. /steering
For fertigation "shots"

Let's say 2L = 2000ml × 0.04 = 80ml shot size every hour or so for "Generative Steering" (@4-8% sub volume)

Thanks man, appreciate it.

Been trying to get the water just right.
Hell yeah man I can tell, leaves also looking fricken perfect. You are getting this crop steering thing DOWN lol. I know about it but I don't have the patience to delve that deeply into it yet. For now I just water till runoff and if no runoff, add another fertigation event. I end up giving them more waterings during flower than veg, like now Im up to 10x a day, which kinda should be the opposite right? Less fertigation events and more volume each event for generative, and more fertigation events of less volume for vegetative?

Starting to get the hang of it maybe, there's other variables/context to it of course, but it seems the main "gist" of it is the watering methods/practices.

"Veg" steering = fast dry backs

"Gen" steering = slow dry backs

I'm not too sure besides, the water needs increase a lot more in flower anyways

Correct, as I understand it.

If you want "vegetative" (canopy/leafs) growth = fast dry backs

"Generative" Growth = "slower" Drybacks between fertigation events.

But, just in case, don't confuse the terms for the growth stage, those terms refer to what kind of growth you get when using those kind of fertigation practices.

Interesting, would you ever want generative growth in the veg stage? Isn't generative growth = Flowers?

for example, if you have a plant in the flowering stage that’s growing slowly or too compact, you can help it stretch out and increase internode spacing with the crop steering technique. (veg)

so during "stretch"/transition, i was doing 1-4%veg(2%)of substrate volume for fert-volume amount

now after the transition and buds have set, im doing 4-8%generative (4%)fertigation volume in mL every hour or so to the plants in 5x5.

but as my lights are on at night currently as it was summer, time to change them to day next runs, i cant stay up all day all night every day every night doing all this every hour and everything else.

sooooo, i just flood em out every couple of hours some nights then.

worn the fk out

if you want to try and help "tighten" it up - nodes
Isn't generative growth = Flowers?
yes, so they'll just grow more/tighter nodes (bud/flower sites) then, till lights flip (decrease on-time) or so, (?) i suspect.

i also suspect one can just lower the lights closer to the canopy during "stretch"/transition to try to help reduce the "stretch", internodal/node/stem/cell/elongation if one needed/wanted, has anyone tried doing so?

maybe christmas harvest, as 60 days from here will be jan 1 basically, and we are passed transition and on bud set.

Better phone/camera

Generative steering schedule tonight (4-8%)

Doing 4% substrate volume, so 80ml of fert solution every 30 minutes to an hour or so, lol.

Depending how dry/light the pot is.

Probably water again, 80ml~, at 1 or 2am

Some of the pic previews aren’t showing but clicking on them works. They look like this until clicked on. Data got reset last night so…probably not me.

Gotta water.

120ml each for first hour or two, till it gets dryish again

Actually, what ended up happening was, I Had to water till run off this time, which is only a solo cup or less.

~460mL - as it starts to dry back by the hour or so, ill give it 80ml thereafter. (4% substrate volume)

I wanna wake up,

hop in my Lambo,

Drive down the beach,

Jump outta fucking plane with a wingsuit,

fly a jet,

Trek a jungle,

Skydive over the pyramids,

Zip through Space,

Nah,

I'm whatever the fuck this is,

Fuck.

One oz from a solo, ez.

It's dry

Give or a take a gram(s) if you want to be pedantic, cause these are dried colas so there's a little stem, and just a little trim left.

And not talking about quality, just the possible yield from a solo.

Probably gotta water them again

I'm exhausted.

Daughter is up

Guess I'm "steering" them for awhile longer tonight b4 flooding again

I'm exhausted

Up at 3:30. Old guy bladder. But wife gets up at 4:00 so up for a bit. I’ll try for more sleep in a bit.

Plants are looking great bud. Lots of work though. Keep a balance bro. Health is important when you have little ones.

right, i was actually gonna try to go to sleep around 2 but my 18mo woke at 230 or 130?, just laid her back down......i have not had food today yet either, i dont remember,

sleep deprived short term memory loss, and weed. lol

I hear that. Sometimes miss those days. But we get over it quick. 🤣
You will remember MOST of these days as good times.

Now it’s stress and frustration that fks up my sleep cycle. Still working on it but hit another wall. 😞

thats the other half... i lay down and too much worry or other shit on my mind about anything, or i just cant shut my mind off/keep thinking about stuff, to go to sleep.

so, i usually let the plants go more amber, ha.

indicouch

bathed her, got her some breakfast, hung out a bit, back in the crib meow

Exactly. Running different scenarios over and over anticipating outcomes and arguments.

Not being able to find useful information or people to contact. Being ignored and having to deal with issues alone. No support or help from authorities.

Just a mountain of shit and all I have is a beach pale & shovel. 🤣

and 2 commons meet

i know exactly how that goes man, majority of the time trying to sleep, own worse enemy.

Brains.

The MSA compound is not explicitly denoted in the formula. It is formed as a byproduct of the reaction between potassium silicate and phosphoric acid. The silica produced in this reaction is in the form of MSA, which can be readily absorbed and used by plants.
Here is a more detailed explanation of the reaction:
K2SiO3 + 2H3PO4 → 2KH2PO4 + SiO2

The potassium silicate and phosphoric acid react to form potassium dihydrogen phosphate and silica. The silica produced in this reaction is in the form of MSA.

MSA is a monomer of silica, which means that it is a single molecule of silica. It is a soluble form of silica that can be easily absorbed by plant roots. MSA is beneficial for plants because it can help to strengthen cell walls, improve nutrient uptake, and increase resistance to pests and diseases.
