Had a thought of an iris door too, could open and close it around a seedling/stem as it grew, rubber grip edges.

are you running with your polyfill idea? i'll admit it had me thinking how i could do that quick and i do have enough stuff here to make a small seedling starter.

would nutrients be hard on the fogger?
Each time I work with it, it just does not seem to be the material to use, but still playing around with it.

It's hydrophobic basically and does not wick at all.

But it can still hold a plant

and if you keep the Water Content perfect, it may be like an "Aero" media.

something so simple yet effective...

there has got to be a way to incorporate a VG design and fogponics... i need to order one of those cheap foggers and get to playing myself. i'm really interested in this!! i hope to get an oxygen concentrator for xmas.. then it's on!!!!

hey man, how's your road rash been healing? you keeping it clean?!?!

Can you get your hands on a little aquarium? Around here a 10 gal is .25 at a garage sale. $10 at Wally World. 2.5 works good too.

My first experiments were using them. They work tits for all kinds of configurations

55 gal and you could flower a few.

What ultrasonics do you have?

If you get o2 observer will be jealous. You should send a balloon full to obs to keep the peace.

Bought this cheap disc

I could get a small aquarium, all though, I'd need more disc/fog for that volume perhaps, But I could get some more disc.

ahhhh yeah baby!!!!

I'd be jealous & pissed lol.

ah man i'd share, we just gotta get a small air line from my home to yours! :D

OK Obs, here's the thing on fog. What I have found over and over is that the fog will settle to the bottom of the vessel it is in, reguardless of how big it is or how many disks. In order to use the fog effectively, I have adopted a waterproof fan that kicks on when the fog does. I printed the structure to hold the disk with the fan built over it with swivels in both directions. You don't need much air at all, but if you use this even a small disk will properly fill the whole vessel and mist the roots completely.

Let me go find some pics, hopefully I have some on my phone.

I don't know squat about fogponics, but got to wondering if you can distribute fog similar to how we move water? Generate the fog in a reservoir and pump through lines to the plant vessels using some kind of appropriate inline fan(s) without condensing too much or other problems? The Internet led me to a FB page for fogponic and aeroponic systems. One of the posts links to a youtube video that my noob brain found interesting. Unless there are other methods, it looks it looks like you'd want a high ceiling in your grow space to run a system that distributes fog in the manner I was wondering about.

Cool video.

What I landed on was injecting o2 into what he is calling kratky. Seal everything up as tote as I can and use a fan across the mister. Also everything was on timers

I’m looking for the bid that explains it Obs.

Looks like you run a tight ship. Everything nice and neat and super clean job sealing everything up. Those timers lined up remind me guitar effects pedals.

late night infomercial..

One of the first things ive observed, gravity quicky pulling the micron molecules down, and one of the "concept" solutions i had was basically what you did, another was similar to how a piston works.

Probably one of the best ways to go about this, if using fog disk, creating a "Fog Resevoir" and "pumping" that into a "Fog Chamber" where the plants are "suspended" or contained/sealed above.

OR HPA, high pressure aero/ nozzles under 100+ psi. That can create/atomize a mist of 5-50micron droplet size, this is the plan when I get my own place again.

Greatly appreciate you're input and help

Healing faster than I thought it would

Knee is still kinda fucked, hand is better

Ok, the second temporary "chamber" lol

And the second....or third seed lol.
Ok scraping this, too far from the moisture i think, unless it rotted from too much.....but....would have to cut the chamber shorter, also fuck it I'll just try to germinate a seed, let it spout a few inches like they do in some of yalls VGs then just tie a fuckin string around it and hang it down in the fog lol....or maybe if I could hang a tightly pored mesh over it....

We'll know when it's working when the root morphology changes

This is too big of an ask lol, eventually I'll get my own and will have to print out multiple of these to see if it even works and to which design specs

Yes if you are growing in a tote like me thats 18" tall, disks on the bottom, without the fan the roots will not be dripping wet. The coco will be bone dry. You really need fog to blow thru the roots to do this properly.

This means there has to be a fan somewhere.

My first attempt was putting the disk in a 2.5 gal aquarium with a float valve and a fan. The float set the level above the disks and plumbed to those black painted 10 gallon tanks you asked about. Those hold the nute mixes, 10 gals for each tote. 4 totes, each is 2' x 4' so 4 fills a 4x8 edge to edge. So those 4 aquariums you saw is 40 gallons max of nute mix that is being oxygenated and stirred. It's also housing bennies which are constantly being fed into the system.

Cool idea, but in the end the system was very wasteful. Fog would drip off the roots and walls and collect in the bottom of the tote. That had to be drained to waste. Bad design, no donut.

Now I have a printed tray and fan assembly that sits right in the bottom of the tote. I just shot a video for you, let me see if it is too big to upload.

Shit I gotta retake the video too big even for imjur.

Here are some stills

The printed tray holds the fan swivel, the ultrasonics, the pump (O2 injection thru the venturi) and the 3 probes DO, PH, EC.

For you all you need is this sized down to fit your single disk.

What are the 1 2 3 4 aquarium tanks doing?

Do u have just the one one fog aquarium/resevoir or multiple
Black 10 gal 1-4 = nute tanks gravity feeding res 1 - 4
Each res is a 24"x48"x18 deep tote. Nute tanks feed them via float valve set to work properly with the height of the disks.
Inside each tote is flooded with fog constant 100% RH. I run them about 15 minutes per hour, but in short bursts.

good to hear your getting some relief, i've been there man.. a life of dirt biking, i've had road rash quite a few times along with all the broken bones that comes with it.

hope ya heal up with no lasting damage!!

Ima have to call them bastards up lol

right?!?! smoke a bunch first and get your voice sounding all old, come up with a sad story i bet they'll give ya 60 days free!!!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

wow i bet that five disc'r really throws out the mist!!!! Moe, how many plants (and at what size) would something like that be appropriate for?
