SSHZ does Captain RedBeard's "Biscotti Blonde" and Lit Farms "All Starz"..........

I worked this morning on the All Starz side of the room, trying to even out the canopy by raising some of the shorter plants........way too many phenos on these girls. But looks great....... I turned the led off, to show you just how green everything is now- you sure can't see it with the lights on.image.jpg

So, as always, I always put the sticky yellow traps in the pots, as an early detection system for gnats and such. Yesterday, I saw this:

So, I flushed with Venerate and sprayed an hour after lights out with Monterey Insect Spray........the traps do a great job of stopping things from getting out of hand. The spraying takes care of some of the more stubborn ones.

Only my opinion!

I fertilize with 50%ish of the recommended EC until the last week. The last week I only add RO water daily to the reservoir cutting it basically 15%ish each day.

Unless there is a ph or nutrients lock out problem I do not flush COCO and if I do have a problem I flush with 50% less than I’m currently feeding and a lil extra calmag! As well as adjust the ph to make the runoff go up/down or whatever is required.

Again only my opinion but an Olympic Athlete may eat less the week before their event but ain’t no coach going to starve them (flush) for an entire week before their event.

This only applies to coco/hydro. Soil has enough nutrients in it to probably make flushing necessary!

Peace

Another round of pic's, Biscotti first and the All Starz. Then I'll wait another week before the next one so you can judge growth.
Maybe I’m not seeing it and good chance I don’t know. But the first thing I would do is get your pots elevated an inch or 2 off the bottom of the tent so they can drain properly.
Two 1/2” pieces of pvc under the pots will work and will only cost a couple bucks.

Not sure which premix you are running and I agree that it is very forgiving. However I would still add 20-30% more perlite. Just my opinion bud!

you don’t get much runoff if any…do you give them plain water sometimes ..I hardly ever see nute burn on your gals.

Use organic fertilizer, you won't get burns.......that's first. I never flush in veg, week 6 i'll start a fresh water flush every 3-4 waterings in flowering. Water never runs out of my pots, so it keeps the floor dry and humidity down (at least lower than it would have been). But I water every day in flowering- every day! There's no right or wrong, if it works for you.

Really the challenge this grow is the wide spread of tall and short phenos with the All Starz. I have the shorter plants on bricks, to raise them up some so the pic's are not accurate. There's probably no more than a couple inches difference with the Biscotti's- it's a matter of breeding.

After my initial pH issues, both strains bounced back and are very happy at day 13........

Blue Lab claims the probes should be replaced every 18 months and calibrated monthly. Mine lasted 4 years (i went back and found the purchase on Amazon) and it was calibrated each crop. lol I'm figuring the probe was out of whack for about 2 months. When I inspected it, it was crusty deep into the glass.

can you show a pic of your blue lab ph pen? sshz .It must b a different pen one to what I think you have lol.

Blue Lab Tri-Meter........measures temp, pH and ppm. Sometimes called combo-meter.

does that stay in your nutrient reservoir all the time or do you just check ph,ec before feeding.i wouldn’t mind one of those..

just checked the price…$361 is near the cheapest here.there’s another called the blu lab guardian which is more dearer..it has served you well for 4 years..def paid for itself lol

What I love about these meters is just let it sit in calibration fluid after hitting the calibration button and it auto adjusts to 7.0 although a second point need to be adjusted too, either at 4.0 or 10.0. Really very trouble free and simple- I don't pay much attention to mine except at the beginning of a crop to calibrate.

Going to switch to full bloom fertilizer today and run with that until the last week flush...........if I see them lighten up too much, I'll add back in a dose of additional Nitrogen.
