2 slots left to fill.

Get passed the seedling stage and then might just flip, the bigger one will get too big maybe if I don't lol.

Thinking about topping its 2 new tops and topping it's lateral tops, just because.

Hmm

"Topped" these 2 side branches, and topped the tops, lol.

Those kind of scissors work well.

👊

Have you been running these intervals long enough to get a feel for whether you'll stick with these numbers for a while or are you seeing something that's calling for more near term tweaking?

yea, if i go longer the roots wont develop as much higher up it appears, after running shorter off times, like they are at the bottom where some water remains.

And if it gets too dry, then it defeats the whole point of HPA, developing those more efficient but sensitive trichoblast root morphology.

Which leads me to almost conclude that I need a more consistent and smaller average droplet size to get those roots, easier, consistently.

it's like trying to get a bunch of balls (water molecules with ions) into a bunch of micro fine holes, if they are too big they bounce off, and could damage those fine root hairs.
or are you seeing something that's calling for more near term tweaking?
as it grows it may need less frequent , so instead of 2 minutes, 3-4 minutes becomes more optimal to start allowing the plant/root system access to more oxygen, so the root system isn't drenched, which allows water molecules to combine into bigger ones, being counter productive.

In short.

(Let's say I'm getting 40-80um droplet size when it kicks on and off, when it should be a consistent 10-50um droplet size everytime it cycles)

Finer/smaller average droplet size, consistent, on/ off no squirts from the nozzles as it turns off, using an accumulator tank, solenoids and pressure switches solves most of that if I combined it with this little pump, maybe. Or just get another pump, but they'll wear out faster.

On/off will be frequent for younger plants and slightly differ apart as plant matures, in a proper 10-50um droplet size HPA System

So now that I got that all figured, just need to upgrade my misting system.

Sorry for the wall of text lol.

I said In short, and made it longer, oof. 🤦‍♂️

minor tweaks, but mostly set and just letting them grow, till i can make upgrades.

I didn't see it as a wall of text. It's an interesting grow style and I enjoy trying to follow along.

Roots

And some probably nasty bacteria buildup on the netcup, I could rinse it off before but can't really get this plant out of here now lol

Might replace this one, the others aren't being this sensitive to the nutrients, at least, thats what I think is causing this.

need to clean the tote, nozzles and maybe rinse the pump out again too, wouldn't hurt.

.

see where it started to dry up/ die off, and now with the more frequent w/d cycles it's recovering and growing roots out closer to the top too.

Incrementally increasing Ca(ClO)₂ dosage with each gallon to find the sweet spot without causing too much damage to the plants.

0.9 grams (poolshock) in 500ml purified water, added 1.5ml to gallon of nutrient solution, not able to correlate any negative plant responses yet, Increasing to 2ml/gallon from the 500ml pool shock stock solution.

is this the first ever wall mounted VG? badass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yup, @ around 5k lumens too, I may just see how long I can grow it in there too lol.

figured I'd germ extra this time just in case, go with the best looking ones and have backup if any die, try to be more uniform.

Mount the purple one to the other side if I need too lol
