As some of you know @MrsSweetLeaf has been helping me with my grow when I’m out of town. But what most don’t know is she has her own grow going in my single site Hydro system. We didn’t have another chiller so this grow started out sterile, but evolved into a live reservoir.

I really didn’t like the way this plant was turning out, and I recommended that I get yanked, but it was decided to let it go. Now it appears the ugly duckling has turned into a beautiful swan. I think this plant has at least a couple more weeks but I wanted to share what Mrs. sweet leaf has going on. Very proud of her!IMG_2812.jpegIMG_2867.jpegIMG_2866.jpegIMG_2865.jpegIMG_2864.jpegIMG_2863.jpeg

Congrats mrs, tell us about the grow.
Thanks for the kind words ya'all.

I've been trying to get her to post a diary but she is quite shy about it so I just had to share for her. She has been watching me and learning so she can help when I am out of town, but she is also an avid gardener and loves to grow plants.

This strain is a finicky one and I wanted to toss this plant around the time of flip which was around April 15. She started out running sterile with h2o2 because we don't have another chiller and was paranoid about root rot. Not sure if it was the sterile environment in the root zone or just the strain but she was never happy in veg. In the end it was decided to just run it as an experiment and learning experiment. She cut out the h2o2 and started running hydroguard. We noticed res temps around 65F in the morning but rising to around 80F late in the day and that cycle continues so my thoughts were to run live and see what happens. No smell, slime or anything funky in the root zone, it all looks great.

I advised she run low ppm 400-450 which is what she has been doing....teetering on N excess with cupped lower fans but the kicker was the light green appearance of the strain that can fool you if you are not careful. This strain has one of the same parents as the Aether, which also had that trait so we learned from that not to overdose her on N.

My thoughts on this plant is it still has about 2 or 3 more weeks left and I will be advising on when the best harvest date will be. We have not looked at trich's yet but I plan to train her using the scope very soon so she can figure out when to cut this gal down. She has started a very nice fade already and I have advised to let that ride at around that 450 ppm. Wonderful smells coming off her, very complex and hard to identify.

After not being all that enthused about this plant, I do believe I am getting excited about how she is going to finish, looking gorgeous and smelling wonderful. Great job to my beautiful bride!

Congrats @MrsSweetLeaf
Absolutely beautiful plant! 🤩

Yup. And if you notice, leaf tip burn is the least of any of my plants in hydro so far. Less is indeed more and this I am learning too.

This has been a great experiment and we've both learned a lot. Happy to have one of these experiments turn out unexpectedly good! We're fixin to find out.

Something I've learned over the years. The typical reaction to an issue is give it more X. I've seen so many newb and novice growers just dump tons of ferts or overwater thinking this way. It almost always not that they need more of anything. Issues tend to be out of balance rather than not enough. Probably one of the hardest lessons to learn growing weed.

Posting an update for @MrsSweetLeaf on her Tropic if Censor grow.

We've been looking at trichomes but she is close but not ready yet. Will maybe look again today and see where she is at. Nice fade going on, drinking much less but still throwing a few new pistils here and there. The buds are nice and hard, even though most are fairly small, the main cola really filled out nicely!

You got a good woman!

Tropic of censor is related to the aether I see via the mendels website. How have you enjoyed the mendels gear you've grown? Looks like they got some frosty stuff.

Cheers

That Tropic of Censor is some super fine pain weed! The first one I grew in soil, I was not happy with at all, but then it just took off and was a gorgeous plant!
Congrats Miz Sweetleaf! Beautifully done! 🥰

Would you be surprised to know that he, Da Brother resides in your area?

Thanks Bro, she's a keeper.

Absolutely LOVE the Aether strain. Both of these seemed super finicky and more on the difficult side of things but yea, super dank if you ask me. The Aether is some of the best I have ever had.

I'll tell her thanks CG or maybe she will find some time to come on the boards and check up on me :ROFLMAO:

That is kind of exactly what happened here CG, I was like let's toss that ugly thing. But she wanted to go with it, so glad she did.

He has a version I believe it’s called Black Label Cookies that was just straight up fantastic! I think the TOC grew like that because of the heavy cbd content in it. I was super disappointed and then one day… was like WOW! It just flourished.
Checking up on ya ey? Don’t think she don’t know about bud porn! 🤣😂😅😂

That's interesting didn't know so yeah that is a surprise. Glad to know we are represented. Definitely will make me more mindful of what I do or don't do with the aether x gdp seeds. Excited even more to try them now.

Going to have to grab some of his gear to show support now

I can take very little credit...I do a lot of observing and asking a million pesky questions. It sure is purdy and smells amazing 😀

Since @MrsSweetLeaf served my time in trim jail on the Grape Gas, I figure I would return the favor and check myself in for the Tropic of Censor. Here are the chop day photos.

I did the same thing today. I was cutting down plants and had 4 trimmers. We got thru 2 pounds in a half day. So happy to be done. My whole house smells like cousin cheech is living in the basement.

Good luck on yours bro.

I know you were looking at possibly having overfed in the past with this grow. IMO this was not overfed.

Thanks Bro, appreciate it.

Actually, it was on the Grape Gas I had all the overfeeding problems this go around, and I was really trying to cut back. Anyhow, lots of other things made that grow a huge dud. The Mrs got them trimmed Thursday and although I was pretty hopeful to at least pull an lb off that grow, don't think I will even come close.

Got out of trim jail on this plant and think I will have some good meds, I weighed the wet, trimmed buds and after figuring the 20%, will most likely end up with about 6 ounces off that. Not bad for an experiment that went good, but still under performing for myself. Feeling somewhat defeated, but Imma gettin back up and trodding ahead full speed for the next round.

Once I get test results from this plant, I will post that and a final yield weight after drying.

CG, I want to make sure I am understanding, good weed to address pain? I've been searching far and wide for a good solution, most weed is good at allowing me not to think about pain, but don't immediately address the pain. Both would be desirable.

Thank you and hope you had a wonderful weekend. ;)

I grew that especially to address pain. One thing I have seen is many that do not use cannabis has used or does use cbd for sleeplessness and pain. This one is high in cbd content. It was used to address rheumatoid arthritis. Worked great! The person that needed it is no longer around. The only reason I’m not growing it now.
Most welcome and I had a great weekend 🥰

I'm going to be very interested to see the lab results from this plant. I was able to bring night time temps fairly consistently down the last week or two to 64-67F range which I have seen helps with the terps.

I would be too. If you don’t mind sharing them. Right now, my big thing is lines heavy in linalool. So far, the Future One is the heaviest and it seems to be getting the job done. (Controlling seizures).
It’s super expensive here to have the testing done. THC content and terps alone are 175.00 and a six hr round trip drive!

Linalool is a favorite of mine as well and hard to find in good numbers. Interestingly enough, I have been working on some informational terp sheets for my boss where I work part time and just got finished up on the first one, which just happened to be linalool. This is an older version where I have the dispensary name and some other minor refinements in the final version which is on the computer at work. We're working on educating his clientele about the importance of the terps and I plan to make matching versions of all the major terps for this project.

I will have to look into that Future One strain. I have heard Grandaddy Purple is another with good amounts of linalool.

Yes, I'll be sure and post that once I get it. And yea, the testing is not cheap. I am fortunate to have a lab here in my state who very generously tests all my flower for me free of charge, super awesome folks. It's very important for me to know what is in my medicine so what they do for me is very meaningful and I am grateful because I could not afford it otherwise. They have a courier who travels the state and picks up samples but I still drive 33 miles one way to meet him so he doesn't have to go out of his way. Beats a 6 hour trip that is for sure. I'm surprised they do not have couriers there like they do here, I would be facing an even further trip than you if they didn't.

Is that Future One a strain you have seen an actual report for?
