Tropic of Censer by Brother Mendel

Good luck on yours bro.

I know you were looking at possibly having overfed in the past with this grow. IMO this was not overfed.
Thanks Bro, appreciate it.

Actually, it was on the Grape Gas I had all the overfeeding problems this go around, and I was really trying to cut back. Anyhow, lots of other things made that grow a huge dud. The Mrs got them trimmed Thursday and although I was pretty hopeful to at least pull an lb off that grow, don't think I will even come close.

Got out of trim jail on this plant and think I will have some good meds, I weighed the wet, trimmed buds and after figuring the 20%, will most likely end up with about 6 ounces off that. Not bad for an experiment that went good, but still under performing for myself. Feeling somewhat defeated, but Imma gettin back up and trodding ahead full speed for the next round.

Once I get test results from this plant, I will post that and a final yield weight after drying.

That Tropic of Censor is some super fine pain weed! The first one I grew in soil, I was not happy with at all, but then it just took off and was a gorgeous plant!
Congrats Miz Sweetleaf! Beautifully done! 🥰
CG, I want to make sure I am understanding, good weed to address pain? I've been searching far and wide for a good solution, most weed is good at allowing me not to think about pain, but don't immediately address the pain. Both would be desirable.

Thank you and hope you had a wonderful weekend. ;)

I grew that especially to address pain. One thing I have seen is many that do not use cannabis has used or does use cbd for sleeplessness and pain. This one is high in cbd content. It was used to address rheumatoid arthritis. Worked great! The person that needed it is no longer around. The only reason I’m not growing it now.
Most welcome and I had a great weekend 🥰

I'm going to be very interested to see the lab results from this plant. I was able to bring night time temps fairly consistently down the last week or two to 64-67F range which I have seen helps with the terps.

I would be too. If you don’t mind sharing them. Right now, my big thing is lines heavy in linalool. So far, the Future One is the heaviest and it seems to be getting the job done. (Controlling seizures).
It’s super expensive here to have the testing done. THC content and terps alone are 175.00 and a six hr round trip drive!

Is there someone here on this forum selling seeds to this strain?
I'm thinking it's something I've searched for far and wide!
Brother Mendel sells these. I will get you a link to his page. Straight up, honest. Very intelligent and impressive young man.

Linalool is a favorite of mine as well and hard to find in good numbers. Interestingly enough, I have been working on some informational terp sheets for my boss where I work part time and just got finished up on the first one, which just happened to be linalool. This is an older version where I have the dispensary name and some other minor refinements in the final version which is on the computer at work. We're working on educating his clientele about the importance of the terps and I plan to make matching versions of all the major terps for this project.

I will have to look into that Future One strain. I have heard Grandaddy Purple is another with good amounts of linalool.

Yes, I'll be sure and post that once I get it. And yea, the testing is not cheap. I am fortunate to have a lab here in my state who very generously tests all my flower for me free of charge, super awesome folks. It's very important for me to know what is in my medicine so what they do for me is very meaningful and I am grateful because I could not afford it otherwise. They have a courier who travels the state and picks up samples but I still drive 33 miles one way to meet him so he doesn't have to go out of his way. Beats a 6 hour trip that is for sure. I'm surprised they do not have couriers there like they do here, I would be facing an even further trip than you if they didn't.

Is that Future One a strain you have seen an actual report for?

I have. I had it tested. It’s been one of the heaviest percentages I have found so far. It has been a life saver to my Daughter, and she is now completely off of all prescription meds. I had the report, will see if I can find it.
We do have couriers, but they are for the dispensaries.
This Future One is a strain by Anesia. It’s touted to have a 37% THC value. This tested out at 37.020. Actually one of my least favorite!

Thanks @SweetLeafGrow! Keeps me from hitting him up on fakebook. I used to rep his work in classes that I teach and do a recommendation, I was rewarded by the Brother with seeds, so I have grown several of his creations. TOC, liquorice, black label cookies, breakfast in Paris and a few more.
I’m hoping when we finally decide on how it’s to be done, that I can bring three breeders here. Brother, Captain Redbeards and El Lopez. All three people I can and will personally vet.

I have two strains that were freebies that I would really like to try someday. Laffy Affy and AFCoup. Would be super cool if Bro Mendel came over here for sure.

Thank you for the link.

I'm interested in pain relief because of my neurological problems. Arthritis and tendonitis are also worsening problems for me. I haven't grown any plants with pain relief in mind yet, however. My growing focus so far has been to blunder my way through from beginning to end and have something to show for my efforts. So, we buy CBD as edibles from the cannabis stores. I'm completely unfamiliar with these strains, so this discussion has been helpful. I'm browsing the gomendel.com site now.

I also grew his Mendel's Aether. Exceptional strain that I want to grow again. I posted test results and some photos on a makeshift journal that I started after our migration from the other place, which is where I started that grow. I am also still learning hydro so was not a perfect grow by any means but was still able to get a good, potent harvest.

There don't seem to be Mendel's Aether seeds available.
Interesting. I was showing my boss the strain on Mendel's website last night and the listing is still there. I do recall I think he was only selling like 75 or 100 packs of this strain so yea, they could be gone. Same thing with Tropic of Censer so don't wait if you are going to buy.

I have some seeds I made using the strain and crossed with a Granddaddy Purple male. Happy to send you some if you would like to try them out. They are not feminized however.

I'm hesitating because at $25/seed, they're kinda pricey. Then again, after spending so much this far, what's a few more dollars? 🤣

Thanks so much! It's tempting. The TOC sounds like it's excellent for pain management, though. So, I'll probably swallow hard and pull out the plastic for that.

Not sure if it was a mistake or not, but I tend to think it was intentional, but when I got my order, the two strains I paid for that we are talking about now had 4 seeds in each pack. Mendel also gave two freebie packs of two other strains and those two only had 3 seeds each.

They were the most expensive seeds I ever bought, but I do think it was money well spent fwiw.

Mine was THC Victory. They got me for $50 a bean. Total bust. 0/10 do not recommend.

They have a buy 2 get 2 sale Father's Day sale going on through the 25th, by the way.

I'm trying to order some seeds from Go Mendel. The site is strange. They sent an email message to ask for my payment method and my email address. Then they sent another message to say they're going to send yet another message. I'm still waiting for that third message that's supposed to let me know how to pay.

I let the business owner decide his method of madness, more so when it comes to seed sales and I play along or go elsewhere.
I have publicly vetted him, I know him personally and I don’t know of a single person that he has been unfair too. I would not vet him otherwise. Unlike a certain person on another unnamed forum.
Careful who’s toes you step on.

I haven't bought many seeds, as you must know by now. You also must realize that I don't know my way around the cannabis growing culture very well. I don't know anyone personally and probably never will. Then there's the Internet, which has its own perils. That said, I certainly don't want to step on any toes that shouldn't be stepped on. I do trust your recommendation, though, and that's why I ordered the seeds. It's good to know you vetted him, so I don't have to do the same.

I just completed the order, and the transaction went well. I will probably start these in September.

Seed breeders and sellers have a lot to overcome anyway. Imagine working your butt off to produce a product that you sell to an inexperienced grower. Said grower drowns, buries them too deep, keeps them too wet and rots the stem, feeds them at a week old… we could go on and on.. and the breeder is always blamed. Most all breeders bend over backwards to help new growers anyway.
Years of trial and error in their product.
Not saying there is not the fly by night backyard breeders that would sell you trash either. Those exist as well.
We have so few good, vetted , award winning breeders that I am pressed to defend the ones that are.
I think you are onto a cultivar that will greatly reduce your pain level. Congrats on your purchase of some top of the line genetics.

I don't think I'd blame a breeder without a good reason. The problem is, I doubt I would know a "good reason" when I saw one. 😉

I can't say I've encountered one of those.

It's an honorable thing to do. I appreciate your help.

Thanks. I could use some pain relief. By the way... Does this cultivar reduce inflammation?

I will let you know when I see the terp report on this plant. It's definitely grower specific with the numbers and this was not the best grow but hoping for some good numbers even though we probably did not hit her peak potential.

Doing the final tally and report on @MrsSweetLeaf and her Tropic of Censer girl. Final weigh in totaled 6.1 ounces of trimmed flower.

The lab called earlier than I had anticipated and this gal had not dried as much as I would have liked and failed the moisture test. This does not affect the test results and doesn't really apply to me as a self provider.

Anyhow, was pretty happy with these results, especially on the terp side, hit almost 5%! Holy Guacamole, hell yea!

That's a lot of terps! I'd be interested in running that genetic just for that.

Measurable CBG is interesting. At first I kinda ignored CBG, but lately it has proven really important in the wife's sleep meds. Not sure why exaxctly, but at a ratio of 2:1:1 THC:CBG:CBN she is getting better sleep than she has had in a long time. I know you could use that too.

6.1 oz - disappointing I'm sure. What did you learn this go that you will do differently next time?
