Having the same stretching/overcrowding issue I had last time. I'm may start growing 12/12 from seed after this round.

That back right plant is overcrowding the back left and it's just started throwing pistils 41 days after flip. Front right is stacking strong. Both lefts are somewhere in between.

I feel your pain bro. On some strains you gotta be super quick on the flip. I’ve grown into my lights more times than I care to admit. Hard to predict the stretch from new seeds.

Oh yeah. Didn't know SF had that option
Nice
They all come with that option 🤣

Yeah and I'm learning that they don't all flip just cuz you switch to 12/12. The various degrees of maturity is a little discouraging knowing some plants will have to go much longer unless I rig up a separate dry space.

I just have so much going on At the moment. Bathroom build and chickens on the way that will need a coop and roosts. Schedule change at work has been brutal. Feels so random, but we'll have a week off every month. Maybe i can get a lot done those weeks.

you cut the roof out of the tent, next you just cut a hole in the basement ceiling!!! bring em up through the house, call it an atrium!!
I like your style!

Pinch and bend.

Words to live by in many situations including when you accidentally try to be @smoke
I really thought the stretch was over with when the one plant started forming it's buds.

I might just plant one seed next round and do my best clone it.

Yea if you wanna run just one to clone I'd suggest just getting a 1 gal pot using soil and vegging til that point then take some cuts and throw in the 4 site. Much easier to keep it under control when all plants grow the same.....maybe one of those easy bucket hydro deals....if just vegging tho soil is almost too easy

Except mendo purps...I've read that plant can throw 4 different phenos from clones off the same mom ...the clone only original tho...which I doubt anyone is going out of their way to attain anyway lol

I should probably stop growing strains that haven't really been stabilized. Last two grows have been tester beans. I've learned my lesson

This is a problem I dealt with for years. You'll figure out things that will work to remedy it for you..some common and some madman shit like making a tent a convertible.
I'm convinced it's genetics and hybrids or sativa leaning hybrids that stretch the most to be problematic. Genetics tell them they should be as big as a house and here were are trying to grow closet sized versions.
Came to this conclusion growing multiple strains together with same light and environment, same soil & water, same light, same temps at day or night. Only variable was genetic heritage.
The more indica the less hassles of a stretch to deal with.
Early flip helps me a ton too. Flip at 1' and it still harvests at 4-5' tall when it comes to stretchers here.

Well folks... I'm afraid I've led you all down a long path to a whole heap of nothing.

Remember how I pulled out a plant that wouldn't stop stretching and hadn't started budding? Well, there was another one of those left out of the three remaining. I should've pulled it, too.

Checked on the plants the night before last... the remaining stretcher fell over and KO'd the plant that was starting to swell. Wiped it out. Snapped every cola and several side shoots.

I have a runt that was hiding away in a corner and a now busted-ass show plant that was 3 or so weeks from finishing. I've decided to can the whole grow because I've just started nightshift and won't see my plants for 4 more days. My new schedule has me fucked up and it's hard enough to get any work done on my bathroom, let alone stress about these plants. Not worth the heartache.

Never heard the soup sandwich saying that's funny, bout the only thing funny here. Did you can the plants yet? I know it's probably a little late in th grow cycle but I've seen plants recover from being snapped over, long as they weren't broken clean off.

One time we thought an outdoor plant was a goner, left it came back and it had like tripled in size

The grow is canned in my head but I have yet to actually shut it all down. I'll pop in after my night shifts and see how it's doing, but I don't have faith in it. The amount of snapped stems and dead leaves doesn't leave me with much confidence.

You sure it’s a complete loss? Hate to see all that effort go to waste.

Won't really know until I unzip the tent Tuesday at lights on at 6pm. I'm not very confident.

The one runt may be ok, but I'm overworked at this point and may just call it a day, wiping my hands of it until I can wrap up a few of the projects I'm working on.

man we need to clone YOU!! leave one of you at work so you can stay home with the family, some chores, hang out with us.. fuck man somethin's gotta break and we don't want it to be you, i hope you can adjust to that goofy ass schedule man.

how many chickens are you getting? 30+?? are they chicks or pullets? do you plan to free range at all? i do semi free, i try to give them two hours a day outside, so worried about all the different predators i have.
and man i gotta know why so many roosters? four right?
you're gonna look in you coop one day and see thousands like the place i bought mine from...

I'm hoping the best for you. Sorry to hear about that man ..

Cloning yourself for work always reminds me of that funny Michael Keaton movie, multiplicity. The one rule for all clones, don't fuck the wife. They all end up fucking her lol.

I get it. More than one hobby got the back burner do to work and other responsibilities. 👍

Do what you can do well, don’t regret the family or career coming first.

My mom’s neighbour is a retired OPP. (Provincial police) They had a dozen chickens. After 3 or 4 years none remaining. They are on main river with extra wildlife that seem to love chickens. IIRC the rabbits don’t seem to be bothered much just the chickens. 🤷‍♂️

I won't break brother... It's a goody ass schedule for sure. The only incentive is the whole week off once a month but, so far, both of my weeks off were interrupted with having to cover. Thankfully, the two trainees are now on our schedule too, so the coverage should come to an end, aside from sick/vacation coverage.

It's rough, but my body seems to have gotten used to it. It's two weeks of hell and two solid weeks of day shifts/time off.

Well about that...

I ordered 25 chicks and they showed up the other day. Over half dead. All the polish. They appeared ro have gotten trampled by the Jerseys which were a kut twice their size. Lost one Jersey to party butt. That happens quick...

7 Jersey Giants left out there and 17 polish showing up late next week. 4 roosters out of the bunch. I wanted one of each and will cull or sell the other 2.

I do plan to free range them. We have almost an acre they can roam. We'll let 'em our in the morning and put 'em up at night. I'm not sure of any daytime predators aside from hawks maybe, but the Jersey Giants are a huge black bird and I guess that intimidates hawks.

one of my favorite movies 🤣

Family and career go hand in hand. Could have my lovely wife at home taking care of our toddler while building our little boy that due in August. She's a trooper so I gotta do what I can.

Just harvest...

What a journey this one's been. All in all, 2 plants made it. They turned out just fine. Interestingly, the one that took the hit and snapped it's stalks turned out with nugs that were two-faced. The leaners had green on the underside and purple on the side that was in the light. Pretty cool.

The small plant smelled heavy on the orange/tangerine side of things. The other one had a weak tennis bally smell to her.

Looks to me like it'll ring in around a pound, fingers crossed.

I don't have any pictures to document the last couple weeks. Everything I've done lately has been done in a bit of a hurry.

I'll keep ya posted with a final weight. It appears as though the basement will be a fine place to dry the buds.it's holding 67 degrees which is cooler than I've gotten before.

Looks good! I was wondering where you been, forgot you have that crazy schedule now.
Good to see an update and you're alive lol
