Grump's Gelonade X Blueberry Cupcake Grow 🌱

Should I top it when I trim..? Take off the damage? If it wasn't a the top of a main cola I wouldn't be so worried about it..

if it leaves any brown dead material and then later grows around it and swallows it up it will probably invite bud rot.

i've done it more times than i want to admit.... poor plant health and i get a couple dead leaves early and ignore them and then six weeks later i'm upset with myself for not taking the time to trim it right when the damage occurred. you think i would have learned after the third or tenth time that i've done it but no.. maybe this could help you.

;pass

Well I'm really kicking myself...

I busted my knee a couple days ago and haven't been able to go down stairs worth a shit so I hadn't checked on the plants in a while. Knee felt a bit better this morning so I hobbled down to peek in on 'em... two had tipped over.

I guess I didn't learn from last round and I'll be making an ALL CAPS mental note for the next go. TIIIIMMMMMMBERRRRRR

Either way... I trimmed 'em up. I took a tall kitchen trash bag's worth off. They're opened up and the humidity is under control 👍

Two phenos. Left an right. Short and tall. Bushy and sativa leaning (pun intended.. those two tipped)

Plants look great~!
You need the cups that lock in that Moe made.
Busted knee? Really broken or injured bad?
You got to get better, and I need to stop having to say that to so many~!

I just need to preemptively tie them down with that plant Velcro. It works great... if I use it soon enough.

You think they'll straiten back up?

Nah not busted busted, just hurt it at work. I smoked it on that outside sweetspot with a spring-loaded scaffold door. I thought I was clear when I let it go but noooo.

Then I crawled into a little hole where I was replacing some flexible conduit that was old and brittle from the heat. I pulled a flex over to work on it and the sensor that was on the end flopped over and drilled that inside sweetspot. I was in there too cramped to really do anything but pout and finish the job.

It was basically unusable for two days and I'm still having trouble going down stairs. Lots of stairs at work, too. Feels.ok this morning but I've barely used it yet.

Yea they will reach for the sky again no problem.
That is what they do~!

You would probably get some odd looks and maybe make a new friend, but knee pads might be for you~!
;slap

Hell yeah! That's what I was hoping.

I just can't do kneepads... I'm not on my knees nearly as much as my last job and this was kind of just a freak accident.

I'll just have to pay a bit more attention going forward. I haven't hobbled like this since I tore my meniscus in high-school.

I'd rather watch out than deal with a sweaty knee-crotch 🤣

the dewalt kneepads are my best friends!!! they have a nice calf strap and you don't need to wear the pit straps.

man so many Builders laid up right now... is there any of us 100% right now??

hope ya can get some rest and it feels better man!!!

Dude I know it. I'm on the mend, I believe. Just took a shitty impact on both the inside and outside of my knee. I'll be walking fine after my weekend. Go back to work on Wednesday.

I hope a kinesiologist is all you need. I'll never go to another chiropractor after that stunt. Dude was gonna milk me dry with weekly visits. I found out I could pop my own hip by stepping on my steel toe and and giving it a pull. I did that nearly 4 times a day for at least a month before I tried the kinesiologist, and that was after 2 months of chiropractor visits. 1 week at the kinesiologist and it's been "fine" ever since. It'll still act up and be sore if I've done too much, but I say it's fine.

Gonna go in swinging on these girls tomorrow night. HEAVY defo!

My heater slipped and roasted one of those front colas on the left. My exhaust is maxed to keep up with the humidity so the heater runs nearly nonstop. I've even added one outside blowing right into the filter box. Humidity will fall after the trimming so all should balance out.

Should I top it when I trim..? Take off the damage? If it wasn't the top of a main cola I wouldn't be so worried about it..

It's looking like I'll have PLENTY of buds so I'll probably just let her ride.
is that your new defoliator or an older model 😆

We're into the 4th week and everyone looks good. They've been needing a res change and the ppm meter has been telling me that for a week or so. I've been too busy and/or injured. I've just been filling the top-off with RO.

P.S. - That nailgun is the shizz

lookin awesome Grump!!! hope mine turn out half that nice!!
Thanks buddy.

your knee feelin any better? you buildin a new bathroom? demo first or new new?
Yeah man. Somehow it's back to 100% or so. Right knee hurts more from babying the left for so long. I was able to haul ten sheets of sheetrock downstairs by myself so I'm saying it's fine.

New bathroom in the unfinished side of the basement. The unfinished side is mine. It'll have a night shift bedroom and an extra bathroom on one side and all my grow grooms on the other.

Bathroom is up and rocked in two days. Mud and tape and flooring Will get done next weekend.

Your gonna need a bigger boat (tent). 😁
Hopefully they're done stretching. I can't wait to build out a few rooms specifically for growing. A quarter of my basement will be devoted to growing with a veg, flower, clone and lung/water room.

The project is likely a year away. I've been contemplating buying all the lumber for it now with all this tariff talk. Building materials may go through the roof again.

awesome Grumps.that would best way to go about it.this Tarif war sure is stupid.just my opinion.

are you going to insulate it.the batts I used were reasonably priced.it was a no brained for me..mygrows would b struggling otherwise..I think it cost me a grand to do it.the chipboard was 600 on top of that.i raised the floor in there too to insulate them more from the concrete flooring.mine is at the back of a shed and only had to build one wall.she adds up quickly though.

those nail guns aren’t cheap lol..

If your going for cost effective i think tents are the way to go.

Milwaukee makes good tools

good to hear you're back to normal.... well 100% anyway!! hehe

your own dark quiet place will help ya out a lot man!!! just as long as it's not right under the kids play room!!!

i hate drywalling!!

I haven't started drawing yet but I do plan to insulate the walls that will but up to the basement walls. It's my first basement grow and I have 3 space heaters going. The one in the tent hardly runs though.

Yeah it was 380 but man... I shoulda bought one a long time ago. Time saver for sure. It's a bit heavy but I've already shot enough nails to start paying for itself. Screws are expensive too.

I lean on my walls too much. My 5x5 tent's been cramped the last couple runs. With the right planning, I'll have plenty of room.

I've been staring at my unfinished bathroom project thinking "I could grow hella weed in here."

good to hear you're back to normal.... well 100% anyway!! hehe
Haha yeah... knee's fine but I'm still a weirdo

I agree. I'll be right under the daughter's room but she's hardly in there. I'll insulate the ceiling to help keep down the noise.

i hate drywalling!!
DUDE.. ME TOO

I like wood.
If I built a house there would be no sheet rock.
If there was someone else would do it.
Most good tapers hate when someone else installs the rock and they have to make it look good.
Tongue and groove for the win.
It's how you can tell a house was built by lesbians.
All tongue and groove, no studs~! :p

For real on the grow room consider reflective foam for inside walls.
Taping the joints with clear shipping tape is easy and it reflects and seals/ insulates.
I did 2 layers of 1 inch foil faced and staggered seams so no leaks of heat/cool or light.
I did 2 foot on center studs and used luan on any outside the room exposed walls. No waste beside height framing for 2'/4' sheets.
Cheap and light to work with.
Did the same on ceilings and then just put 2x4s inside fastened through foam to studs to hang lights and such.
Doing hydro you may not need any on floor and it will help with water temp.

i really appreciate my studded wood walls versus a tent for my growing. i too lean on them constantly.

I don’t mind drywalling. It’s taping and plaster that sucks. Sanding is a mess but easy enough.

way back when i did this place i traded a guy a good hunting spot for taping and mud, i did the sanding.. he only need a couple days and he was done with the work and bagged his kill so win win on that one!!!!

this should be a bumper sticker!!!!! :D

hey looking good my man!
where you get that small hydroton?

hey looking good my man!
where you get that small hydroton?
Amazon baby.

I wasn't too sure about it before using it. It's not nearly as porous as regular hydroton, so I was wary about the initial growth.

My thoughts were better light blockage and ease of root growth. That and packing around the gro-plugs being easier with smaller bits.

I've been really pleased so far and I still have PLENTY unused. I think it'll also be reusable for longer being less porous.

man not to add insult to injury at all but you take really good marco shots of balls!!!!
I laughed too loud at that one. Might've woken up my daughter.

and kudos to you inspecting your plants close enough to catch it!

hope it's one off!!!
Yeah man... I've had plenty of experience with balls. I'm pretty sure I've plucked ball on every grow so far. I've grown mostly testers though.

2 out of 4 last grow and 1 so far this round. The balls seem to be mostly on the nodes that lost a branch. Only found on the lowers where I trimmed.
