ViparSpectra KS3000 - 5x5 Solo Cup run #2

""The DO level of a gallon of tap water aerated with an airstone will depend on a number of factors, including the temperature of the water, the size of the airstone, and the amount of time that the water is aerated.

However, in general, you can expect the DO level to increase by 1-2 mg/L for every hour of aeration.

For example, if you start with a gallon of tap water with a DO level of 6 mg/L, and you aerate it with an airstone for 1 hour, you can expect the DO level to increase to 8 mg/L.""
@Rootsruler so if this is right, over 24 hours of aerating a solution from 6mg it would increase to 30mg

ill verify once i get a DO probe lol

easiest and most effective way would be you hang the plant in mist, lol.

and the roots dangle.
then youre limited to atmo oxygen

then you need an o2 concentrator, something that produces o2, or a pressurized tank filled with o2.

im just trying to figure the best/easiest way to suspend the plants.

could maybe choke em out in a clothes line like figuration lol

but i was also thinking about a lattice structure.

🧐
What you're describing is aero/fog ponics..........

What you're describing is aero/fog ponics..........
fogponics would be the delivery method for the nutrients and water, open to atmo oxygen

basically yea lol

but also elevated o2 levels "fogponics"'

aeroponics is high pressure - specific nano size droplets to attach to the root hairs/system properly.

well i think moe got to atleast 90mg/l of DO if im not mistaken, and if not higher.

id suspect to a point obviously but whether that point is even achievable or realistic or needed, idk.

im looking into it
Awesome! I would venture to guess that even with a large airstone and surface agitation it would be difficult to get it as high as Moe in an ambient setting so nothing to worry about on that front.

oh yea, no lol

that was with an o2 concentrator in his fogponic rig/chamber

"Aeration: This is the most effective way to increase the DO level in water. It can be done by pouring the water back and forth between two containers, using an aerator, or by creating waterfalls or other areas of turbulence."

- Google Bard
I do this every feed. Also “shoot” nutes into water with syringe to make air jet bubbles into mix. No idea if it helps but I’ve always done it.

The response I keep trying to give isnt as open-shut
I’m aware. But one does what one can with what one has.

I wondered if adding h202 to sitting water before or after adding nutes would help, damage, or do nothing before adding to soil.

For all I know the act of pouring onto the medium is enough to allow any added o2 to gas off. Or adding h2o2 to nutes has undesired effects I haven’t considered yet.

I’ve wondered about this since GNick noted he added h2o2 to water he pops seeds in.

that im not sure id have to research more

my brain isnt working right now ill have to come back

that will definitely increase DO

is it worth it? over the whole system, big picture.

if it can be sustained maybe

idk

had trouble getting that out

.needed more light.

Thx ViperSpidar.

Lol

Let's see

If I wasn't so tired I'd put all my available lights in here just to see how bright 😎

Maybe tomorrow, fuck around and find out

Well if that one crooked ass fan.

yea seems to work easily in a sammy bag just not too many in one
This "cornbread mafia" type sent his in rockwool cubes, wetted and wrapped in paper towel moist when I opened it after a trip down the Mississippi snail mail! In a baggie too. Bags hold moisture. SS

Just took in about 6 more tomatoes, 4 string beans, and two peppers. Nice to see they do well in the tent.

What have you found to be the best veggies for indoor winter grows?

I've yet to grow many veggies but peppers seem to do decent

I was growing some cucumbers but they like to lay down lol

Definitely lettuce and basils are ez.

any microgreen should be simple indoors probably.

I plan on growing more veggies soon but I wanted an outdoor space for it

I’ve started most veggies in the side zones before moving outside.

I can confirm lettuce and tomatoes but both grew strange compared to outdoor. Cucumbers might trellis okay. Another grower had them on the side of his shed or fence as well as flat surface. I suck with names.

I was hoping to do a few indoor this winter on side zones. With mushrooms in one as well. Need to test first. Worried about screwing up mushrooms.

Yeah I can't take pictures for shit.

5.8g off a compact solo, this Data tells me I could possibly do even better and more compact, and this was certainly no test or controlled experiment.

420*7 is totally do-able,albeit, dialed THEE fuck in.

The next thing to see/figure is the shortest, most dense theoretically possible plant.

I think from a plant that is 12inches, you could Atleast get 6grams off of it, if not more depending on genetics and methodology.

Root density will be a key variable too perhaps

I believe a more-dense-root-mass is achievable In 100% Vermiculite compared to 100% Coir, so I'll probably be using Vermiculite instead for that 420 grow.

I will also need blue leaning spectrum.
How heavy-leaning "blue spec" I should use to maximize that short-node-spacing and benefit from "full spec", not sure.

Maybe not needed, but the Blue would definitely help keep them compact as possible.

Will absolutely want a automatic watering system in place, I could handwater the 420 solos but I need consistency and multiple waterings throughout the light cycle.

And the time it'll take to manually do it right, is the time I don't really have with a baby running around.

There's some more things but not going to talk about them yet

Combining all of these variables and "tricks", a 420 solo cup run in a 5x5 space , around 7g harvest each plant should be a theoretically possible scenario.

And I plan to pull it off just like I did the first 210 run but better.

Yes I'm going to cure in this lol.

Crispy on the outside but seems there's moisture on the inside so it should be fine

Also found a place, been throwing shit away and starting to pack up

Should be able to move in the next day or two or so
Cool👍

Glad that’s coming together. Moving sucks but a new place is usually a nice change. And you get to plan out your space to crap ratio. 😝

How’s the shrooms coming? Might have missed any new posts due to data/lag.

Hope the move goes smoothly. Best of luck on your new home. 🍀

Thanks appreciate it

Think I kept the one that was doing good too long, and it's food started to run out.

I did a grain transfer but it finally got contaminated, through it out this morning.

I have a minitote going though that looks like it's colonizing correctly, but I feel/think it may run out
of food.

May get some fruit this time but I don't feel very strong I will, as first time actually attempting the fruiting process now and yeah, idk.

Once I get moved and settled I'll definitely start pasteurization attempts again and get back on it
Making some grain spawn.
