been tempted to try those hawaiian rolls banana cremes theyre advertising!!

we haven't made anything special in while.. been mostly easy meals but we have some time this weekend so i'd like to cook something with love..

made some peanut butter banana clusters the other night, no sugar either so tough to hold back and not eat em all..

I had to order the banana bites thru target and pick up at the store.




They're okay but seem like something folks around here would deep fry and dip in melted chocolate. A few in a bowl of ice cream is really good.

Went looking for something for the 4th and landed on it being a red, white, and beef 4th of July!!

I’m a bachelor this week. Didn’t feel like cooking much in this heat. So my first breakfast wouldn’t have passed my wife’s approval.

Been cooking up chops lately mostly because it's still the last meat still not all jacked up on pricing..Nearly all cuts are $3/lb so I get club packs of thin and thick cut chops for only like $20 and there's probably 15-25 chops depending on thickness per pack.
Good thing is with a cupboard full of spices, each cookout is a different flavor so no two chop dinners are the same.
These are some thin cut pineapple pepper rubbed and grilled chops




Found some chips that taste like McDonald's french fries did back in the day

not with three of us in the house!!! (my mom gets one) hahaha normally the four are a fight for the last one.

this is actually the fist time i ever made the full recipe batch, i normally cut it in half. but the weirdest thing man, i ran out of cheese batter filling them up. 1/2 recipe always filled four.. i have no idea.. i wan't fretting.. four went to the neighbors that gave us the berries and we each get one..

how are the chips? i luv me some kettle cooked, the tallow is just ice cream at that point!!!

i've been on a such a banana kick lately too.. in this heat bananas only last a couple days and i'm picky about how i like them, the second they get mushy they get added to some cream and smoothied up!!!! i've been making one like every night now!!! haha

We grabbed Dairy Queen Blizzards the other night. Saw these were available and grabbed a box of each to help get through the week.


We have two locations that have been there my whole life. The further one serves burgers and hotdogs with fries. Funny what survives time and what fades away.

I didn't know DQ was all the way up in Canada!

DQ is another Texas legend but there's two versions...DQ and Mayfield DQ.
The regular DQ is corporate and national and apparently even goes international!
Mayfield DQ's are in central Texas and there's only a few but they're a throwback to old school hospitality, local sourced fresh food, and people working there make a living wage.
If you ever see a DQ with an old red truck on display out front you're at a Mayfield and in for a treat!

Those Kings Hawaiian bites were okay. The regular pretzel version are terrible IMO but yeah man it's a banana kinda Summer!

IIRC they have been up here since the 1960s. I see the one closest to is all the time. The second once in a while when I’m going that way. Every once in a while we’ll see one in our travels. Haven’t had a meal at one since I was a kid but we do the ice cream yearly.

The family owned ones are cool. Wouldn’t expect a lawyer to leave his firm to join the family business. Haven’t seen any up here but I wouldn’t be watching for a different version.

Funny. Up here we have a McDonalds that’s not a McDonalds. It’s a family owned restaurant that was around a long time with their family name. After many years they had a fight with the corporation McDonalds when I was a working teen and must have one as they were still in business the last time I was out that way. They even had a McDonalds sign that looked similar to the corporate one but green rather than red and only one big arch. I can’t find a pic online so it might be gone now but more likely I just can’t find it. I know the area but not the street. It’s south of the highway 401 & 400 area.
