CannaGranny’s Corner a Thread For General BS and Good Will On BudBuilders

Today was a quick trip or a 150 mile round trip to buy groceries. Stopped at Mickey D’s to grab a sandwich.
1. The girl working the register, could not and I mean actually could not count. Even with the register telling her the amount. It ended with my Hubby telling her, one quarter, one dime and a nickel.
2. My sandwich had a hair in it! They made me stand in line and show the manager, at this point..I’m done. I don’t even want another sandwich.
3. No refund, another sandwich..which they brought to the table in a bag with a “gift” inside..a apple pie. I’m diabetic.. ( this pissed me off worse than anything, I REALLY wanted to eat that pie!)
So, I think I’m going to Mickey D’s during their busy time in the morning…naked…wearing my Burger King crown. I’m going to traumatize them just like they have me!

Seems like hot baths and showers are one of the only temporary relief recommendations. My next appointment is in August so we’ll see. A 35 day break might be needed, if we could go that long. Stressful times and all that…
 
Day five of the “roasting”. Expected to hit 115* again today. Looking to have a respite this weekend, it’s going to drop to 98*.. oh wow! Lovely Missouri summer..just lovely!
Up potting the girls today! Gonna be a good one!

Morning CG.

Todays our hottest day over the next 7. Temps only start to drop after next Tuesday. Don’t think we’ll be higher than mid 30’s though. You can keep the 46c/115f! 😳

Getting ready for the September run already. I figure mixing it all in now will give it a good head start cooking the soil.

Everything but the compost is here.

Added three more gallons but three remaining, if it fits. 🤞

Turned the AC back on and plan to hide in the basement most of the afternoons. Work in the yard from 6am-noon.

Doing all work here early morning. The evenings are just way too hot and way too muggy. The humidity is what’s killing us here. Soon as that moves on the temps will be much better.
I had all of my dirt premixed, my gf’s did that for me when my arm was down. Took me two full days of wetting it down to finally get the whole seven gallon bag soaked! She’s taking water and is ready to rock!!
About all the belly probs, have you ever tried goats milk?
 
Not 'heat wave here now but still warm.
Start at 5am where today it was 59f [rather lovely].
930 am it was 79 and rising by the minute.
91 when done at 1pm.
Fortunate not much humidity.
Fireworks and drone show tonight at Lake George.
We'll see if two old people can stay up~!

I've been to Lake George a couple of times it's an absolutely beautiful area, we loved it went back! Last time we were there we did some mountain biking on and off road, it was a rememberable vacation!

So glad you are on the move and taking time to chat with us all. The heat is just miserable and the humidity is not helping in a y way at all. Be careful and keep trucking.

No, I’ve never been able to enjoy anything other than 2%. It’s rare I even drink milk since my 30’s. Occasionally use it in tea and a bit of cream in coffee.

Well it’s extremely healing to the stomach. I’m always looking for natural ways to heal. A lot of stomach meds here are known to cause cancer.
You bet it’s nice to have help from the ladies. They showed up in mass, cleaned my house and mixed my dirt and potted it. I soooo appreciated it!

I always drink six or eight ounces of whole milk before I eat a tomato based sauce it settles my stomach, otherwise the red sauce gives me indigestion all night 🤢

I don’t like white sauces but tomato based ones are fine. Don’t think tomatoes are an issue, yet. Eat them often.

One of my uncles drank butter milk with a bit of salt on top. 🤢

Strangely I like mushroom soup with milk added to it. White clam chowder, never red and potato soup. 🤷‍♂️

Cheese is different. I like a lot of different one but also dislike a few.

I like a cheese steak sandwich in a bun but it takes me a while to get past the smell before I can eat it. Once I have a bite the rest is fine.

We use feta a lot. Salads, bruschetta, pizza. That’s goat iirc.

While I have no intention of camping, I usually gravitate towards water.
This just seems to be calling me~!
I can make a 3 hour loop passing no less than 10 lakes.;drive

I do miss taking long rides with one of the kids on the back. Hit some twisties or switch back roads. Mostly up north off the main highways and through roads.
 
quiet in here today

had such a bad day yesterday....
lost car keys on bike trail, spent hours trying to find them, bought metal detector and walked the whole trail, no luck

$450 for someone to come to me and cut a key and link a fob onsite

I had a secure pocket (zipper) on my shorts but forgot to put keys in there... ugh
HUGE lesson learned...


thankfully i'm somewhat resilient and tackling today like yesterday didn't happen

made cake pops for kiddos
doing res change now
returned metal detector to get my $150 back
made almond milk

still have laundry and to wash my wife's car cause i've been using it until I get my insurance check and get another one

it's hot AF today though and i'm already sunburnt from yesterday, maybe a late night car wash lol

Where i was yesterday when i lost the keys, in the meadows between forests, grass was too thick to see them jump out at me, me and my friend looked again and again with optimistic luck, but that's done now.

Watering and weeding the gardens started at 5am and finished at 7am. It was 28* in the shade by then but the slight wind helped with the humidity.

Thunderstorms are expected but we’ve heard that for months with only one or two short showers occurring. Two 50g barrels are at the bottom line.

At least we haven’t had to cut the grass more than once a month. 😝
