That's what I'm thinking buddy.... gonna try 7 for a pH value. And let the plants tell me...that one looks like 6.1-6.2 to me..
I'm with @steamroller and see a 6.0. Might be different in person, if the photo didn't give a good representation of the color. I hear that can happenView attachment 110834

I only found out a few years ago that they aren’t protected up here anymore. Buggers get in groups and take over parks and ponds, sometimes pools. One park near a school has warning signs as they will go after you.Did a little kayak river float with the family on Sunday. I assume these are still referred to as "Canadian" geese, but I won't pretend to keep up with single executive order.

They're thick down here, too. Just hanging out in fields like cattle, lol. Had a huge gaggle cross the road when I was going to visit a buddy. They didn't get in any hurry and I had to sit there for a minute.I only found out a few years ago that they aren’t protected up here anymore. My mom was all about the Loons for years. Used to see them a lot in Muskoka. Thanks for this laugh brother. Got me good this hump day morning and made me smile about how I'll always think of it as the Gulf of Margaritaville no matter what some creepy orange freak man says otherwise.
I always thought Canadian Geese were cool and beautiful mostly because my Mom loved them. We never saw them in Cali but for some reason she loved them. Then when she would travel thru the midwest she'd see them, take pics, and send me the pics so I thought ya know "Cool. Mom got to see her geese!" So I've always had nice thoughts about the geese.
Then I went to Chicago in 2023 and got a very different opinion about them. Apparently they're a nuisance and can be assholes. So our tour guide was pretty much like fuck those dickhead geese because they're a bunch of assholes and they're mean and shit everywhere.
Hearing him, I could only imagine what my Mom woulda been thinking as this guy railed on about her beloved geese.

My wife’s family was into Cardinals. They come around our place often for sunflowers seeds and all the bushes. Wife says it’s the spirits of her passed family. I’m okay with that. Makes her happy. There's something about old ladies and water fowl. Loons, Mallard Ducks, and even pheasants were some of my Mom's other faves.
Grandpa was a duck hunter and made decoys so maybe that's where she got it or maybe it was just a generation type thing?

I’m okay with most wildlife. Tree rats are even okay if not on my house or garage. Gives the dog something to chase.I'm a cardinal guy too and have had them in my yards for close to 30 years with our habitat. The main reason I grow sunflowers is for them lol.
There is something about them though. No matter what's going on, one visits your window you smile and if you're sad it's gonna have that effect of being a sign from beyond saying hey' it's gonna be okay.
The geese are really thick around here, now. Almost like cattle. Dozens, sometimes 100+, grazing in fields. I visited a buddy recently and had to wait for bunch to slowly make their way across the road. Not a nuisance for me, but not the uncommon sight it used to be around here. Wish I could train them to target the new cement in the Rose Garden. Thanks for this laugh brother. Cardinals are popular here, too. I like birds in general, but am almost jealous about the boy birds getting to be the pretty ones. The only thing keeping me from being full on jealous is the thought of a life being pretty, but having to chase around hairy girls and settle down with a bearded wife. Just doesn't do it for me.My wife’s family was into Cardinals. They come around our place often for sunflowers seeds and all the bushes. Wife says it’s the spirits of her passed family. Not sure what happened to that picture, couldn't fix it so I'll post it again3 in the picture but there were more spread all over the field, why do deer lay down in the rain?View attachment 112553
