Man, Strawberry Lemonade was always a colorful one for me too.
She's gonna be real nice in a few more weeks.

Thanks. She’s super frosty and has a great aroma. The buds are heavy, I need to keep clipping ties onto colas, but not real big/swollen. Probably me but I hope I get some more weight on her before harvest. I have a funny feeling I’m going to want more. 🤔

When I grew it I ran it back to back 5 grows. It was just all around good smoke. Always uplifting too.

Trying the pinch method to stop fox tails but leaving this one alone.

Light was at 99,700 LUX for a month. Just bumped it down to 65,000.

I didn’t mind a little tip burn but it’s moving to the sides of the fingers now. It’s week 8.

Had to thin out the foliage. To humid and bushy.
IMG_9917.jpegIMG_9916.jpeg
Could use more but small bites for now.

Start of week nine. Neither of these plants look like they are done growing yet.

I get the feeling SL will be harvested alone in another two weeks. Not optimal but as long as one tent is empty I can work with it.

20240904: Day 60F

Getting closer to the finish line. Smells like a dispensary in the basement. I’m okay with that. 🤣

I think SL will be ready sometime next week. PD a little after that. But I’ve been warned JB might go to W13. 😳

20240905: Day 61F W9

IMG_9981.jpeg

Humidity is an issue again but worse with JB & PD. I should have just pulled them out earlier when I could without damaging the colas. Now they are way to heavy and drooping. So a quick trim from above, the front and the bottom it is. My back will sing later but that’s the reminder to get it done right next time.

IMG_9989.jpeg

Top right has two leaners I need to string up. Ordered yo-yos but they won’t be here until harvest. 😑IMG_9991.jpeg

I hope that wasn’t too much this late in the game but I’ve seen enough WPM and bud rot pics for this year. Don’t need to add mine. All done. IMG_9988.jpegIMG_9990.jpeg

IMG_9992.jpeg
@Pipecarver 🍻 your pinch trick might be working. The front right is the one I cut the foxtail off of. Two on the left I left alone. The one in the back right is chubbing out on her own. So not conclusive but worth trying again. Front left maybe. But another day.

looking good, being too heavy to hold themselves up is a good problem to have. I'll use bamboo poles for individual stalk support then lattice off them with a cross piece to another pole, You're close anyways, another week or so they're done???

SL should be done in the next week, maybe two. Weather keeps going up and down.

PD will be next, it’s slowing down. But still filling out. It’s up to water bottle width.

Followed by JB. I only just noticed orange pistils on a few spots here/there while trimming out the lowers and middle. Hoping she finishes sooner than later. I don’t like the way she has all the middle leaves growing so close together. Like hairy legs. Just inviting humidity and mold. But they are frosty.

IMG_0001.jpegIMG_0003.jpeg

20240908: Day 64F W10

This should be the last lap for SL & PD. JB has really started to change after leaving the window open overnight the last week. More purple in the leaves and orange pistils are spreading.

Everything has put on weight and is drooping. SL was first but PD had surpassed it now. JB is going to be a monster she’s got the biggest colas.

Coldest night yet. 9* this morning outside and 13* inside the basement.

So far this has been a great run. The weather has been our biggest issue with humidity being the main problem. I usually rely on the seasons to help with each grow to harvest but it’s been tough this year.

What a difference a night can make. 😳IMG_0090.jpeg

20240911: Day 67F W10

I’ve been fighting major humidity for a month or more. Only recently getting a good day or two before more rain and high RH again.

As an example this is the 8th at 8pm, an hour after lights on.
IMG_0099.jpeg

The 9th an hour after lights out .IMG_0122.jpeg

Just keeps on keeping on.IMG_0133.jpeg
IMG_0145.jpegIMG_0146.jpeg

Hard to remove humidity even with a room dehumidifier when it’s 90%RH outside. IMG_0135.jpeg

So with only days or a bit more to go Jilly Bean got bud rot. So far I’ve lost the three biggest colas. One a day for the last three days. Smallest was the size of a hard ball baseball.

I’m pissed and disappointed.

My grown room has no windows. It’s also a hallway used daily so I can rarely keep doors closed. I depend on the weather and being able to open a window in the adjoining room to keep the environment in check. Didn’t work out this time.

IMG_0103.jpegIMG_0104.jpeg

I’ll post more pics in the next one.

Not going to lie, this hurt. Especially after yanking the Northern Lights last grow and taking the winter off. 😞

Hearts not in it but moving on…

JB on the left, PD the right.
IMG_0147.jpeg

What’s left of JB, for now…
IMG_0150.jpeg
IMG_0149.jpeg

PD is growing in and around JB but I can find no trace of mold/rot yet. JB should still have a few weeks but PD should finish first.
IMG_0151.jpegIMG_0155.jpegIMG_0156.jpeg

SL should be coming down any day. Haven’t scoped this week. Got a little distracted. IMG_0152.jpegIMG_0153.jpegIMG_0154.jpeg

So… SL should be good. The rest is up in the air. I can’t move them so I’ll have to wait, watch and deal with it. 🤷‍♂️

Pretty sure you can still make a tincture with the bad buds and a little alcohol.

Pretty sure you can still make a tincture with the bad buds and a little alcohol.

They are outside in a plastic tub. Waiting for tomorrows garbage day. Other than bottle hash I’m not setup for anything else. Also I don’t know how or what I’d need to do to make a tincture.

I was saving for a tumbler but now it might just go to another dehumidifier, but not sure it will help in the long run.

I saved a few buds to dry and test. I sprayed them with H2O2 just leaving to soak in a plastic tub a while. Then put on paper towel to dry.

I’m a little worried to try but just have to know if it was any good. 🤔

20240915: Day 71F W11

Strawberry Lemonade was chopped at 4am. Took me about an hour to chop, unwind and hang the branches. I was able to do it in a few big chunks. Good thing I have long arms.

First remove all the orange support ties.
IMG_0259.jpeg
IMG_0260.jpeg

Then I try to chop each branch off the main trunk one at a time starting bottom up. Then slowly unwrap from the net.IMG_0261.jpegIMG_0262.jpeg

Last branch. IMG_0265.jpegIMG_0266.jpeg
IMG_0268.jpeg

Only had one accidental cut so it’s the tester in a few days…😋
IMG_0268.jpeg

Now the real work, clean up and putting in the next Gen.

Cleaning tents and moving things around.

No new mold/rot on JB and PD doesn’t seem bothered by it. 🤞

I’m stuck at 70/70 for drying SL so a little concerned about that.

We need to many things replaced so I’m skipping saving for the tumbler. Fans are a priority but at $150 a pair I have to wait until Black Friday. A more modern dehumidifier would be nice but I’ll have to watch for sales.

I’m replacing my smashed stash jar and aging roller with a new setup. It’s been 25 years so I think it’s okay to splurge a bit. 🤣

IMG_0274.jpeg
IMG_0278.jpegIMG_0284.jpeg

I also needed a better, shorter, adapter to fill my old 1 pound propane cans. IMG_0296.jpeg

Falls here, more yard clean up and time to swap summer stuff for winter stuff. Trees to trim and a garage to go through. Yay 🙄😝

i like raw blacks the best!!

i have an adapter called a schnozzle or some funny name. i couldn't find it after all these years but it still works and heres a link to one exactly like it.

you may already know this but if you keep the big tank warm and freeze the little tank you get a little more in it!!

Reading your and G$ opinion on them had my son and I looking to try. Over the years I’ve tried a lot of different ones and some out of necessity. Lol

Cool. I saw this and others I liked before Covid but I never got one. I made one but the shortest hose I could get was 10’. Wasted to much and it wasn’t safe when taken apart. I don’t make or modify hoses for stuff like this.

you may already know this but if you keep the big tank warm and freeze the little tank you get a little more in it!!
👍 yep. I set up a work station outside the door with the tank upside down in the sun on a portable work bench. Then get tanks from the big freezer as I go.

I weigh every new can beforehand and write down the weight on the side. Then again when empty. That way I always know when full and don’t over fill.

It seems this practice is frowned upon up here but I’d rather fill my own than pay the same price for one or two 1lbs as I would for one 20lbs. 🤷‍♂️

After all the heat and humidity I finally gave up trying to work in a 3x1x3 grow space.

I removed the shelf and opened it up to one 3x1x6 space. A 2-1 rather than a 3-1. The other tent I already modified into a better germination station and pre Veg zone. So this would be the next step before going into either of the 3x3 sections.IMG_0293.jpegIMG_0307.jpegIMG_0308.jpeg

Now the problem is finding a y splitter for the lights. Only the 440w came with one. IMG_0301.jpeg

I want to join the 220w & 110w together. IMG_0302.jpegIMG_0303.jpeg

It looks like the dimmer switches use the same connectors so if I had two y splitters I might be able to dim both together too? (The dimmers suck and don’t go 0-100 evenly. And no two are the same. I have to use a LUX meter if I want to match them up. But linked might solve that part. 🤔)

I don’t remember the connection name but it’s a one way like old CB radios used. Still have a lollipop mic with one. 😆

Edit: Can’t seem to find the second power cable for the 110w light. Hope I left it in the box. Somewhere in the garage.

Had a left over clone… was talked into sticking it outside rather than tossing. That was in late July. She lost one branch to wild life but these three have buds now. 🤣

I don’t think she’ll make it but interesting to watch. Took her weeks just to figure out what was going on. 😝

No more mold/rot so far. That’s something.

He’s been removed from the tent and pending chop. Bandit gave me a few seeds to play with so I don’t think I’ll try to pollinate anything this time round.

Thanks for noticing G$. I needed more than just my glasses. Didn’t expect them this late in the game.

I thought my chopping the colas in half might have caused or added to them stressing but Stonemason showed me his did it as well.

I’m going to try this run again. See if I can improve things.

Trim day. Strawberry Lemonade has been hanging 12 days at mostly 65-74% humidity and 72F. Fans did their job though. No issues and we had our small branch crack this morning. Buds have been tight and firm.

Once I clean the trim bin and get set I’ll take some pics.

Day 2 without rain!

Trim day for Strawberry Lemonade. Could go a few more days but I need the space.

Here we go.
IMG_0642.jpeg

First tray made 27g
IMG_0645.jpeg

From there each tray added nicely.
27, 66, 101, 148, 197 then another 61. Total of 258g but still a bit damp at the cola tips.
IMG_0655.jpegIMG_0656.jpeg

Lazy trim job but the larf is nice enough to smoke. Needs to sit a bit before we test. She’s real sticky.

She also had a few seeds for another run down the road. 👍IMG_0658.jpeg

Few days from now I’ll know if it was all worth the effort. ⏳

Both PD & JB have been changing colour the last few days. It would be nice to keep them going a bit longer but I need the space. Plants are coming and I need the 3x3 free.

Chopped Jilly Bean & Purple Diesel last night. Both are tight leaves and sticky but PD is the worst. I had to move the dehumidifier into the bathroom for fear of bud rot/mold.

IMG_0701.jpegIMG_0703.jpegIMG_0704.jpeg

Strawberry Lemonade is curing nicely. IMG_0676.jpeg

Gen2 is already set to flip. Buddy brought them back but they are a bit squished and needed feeding. Hopefully they will snap back over lights out.

Jilly Bean, Strawberry Lemonade, and two Haunted Banana. One’s definitely a female but the other is pending ID. IMG_0705.jpeg

Still need to clean the no longer oscillating fan but the rest is clean.

IMG_0730.jpeg

First lights out for the Next Gen after flip. Super cropped a few branches.

The rear left HB might be male so I’ll move it to the front after lights on. Keep a closer eye on it.

Plants are hung and trimmed back some more to try and control humidity. Very bushy and tight packed leaves.

I’ll be leaving them alone for the next week. The dehumidifier is in there to help keep it in the low 60’s. But I have to unplug it if it gets past 45%. Let it creep Buck up.

I like to limb the plant and dry individual branches especially if concerned about moisture.
The stems hold alot / I mean a lot of water.
Super nice grow man~!

Thanks man. 👍

Wow, my wife got home at 3pm and I ask her to give me a hand as I wanted to split each plant into two. Divide them to help with humidity.

You posted about the same time we did it. Not exactly branch by branch but along the same lines. I removed the core from each and hung it separately.IMG_0737.jpegIMG_0736.jpeg

I’ve been plugging in the room dehumidifier until it hits 40% then unplug until mid 60’s then repeat. Lasts a few hours this way. Possible rain again tomorrow.

If it’s not cooperating tomorrow I’ll stop being lazy and chop her up.

20241001: Day 16F W3

Lights set to 33000 LUX, a little higher than 50% of the Photontek. I’ll bump it up to 75%, around 52500 LUX by the end of the 3rd week start of the 4th. IMG_0752.jpeg
