Started prepping the shed/tent for a fall 2025 grow. Last fall’s grow was my tastiest grow yet, just not enough mass. I’m hoping to improve that for this season. The outdoor plants just slipped into flower, when I return to the Bay Area this weekend I’ll start a few seeds.

Up to bat:
A - Orange cream pop - sativa/hybrid from a bud.
B - Northern lights - indica from pacific seed bank.
C - Forbidden fruit - indica from a bud.

Looking forward to these, but three plants in a 32”x32” is going to get tight, I may not top the plants, just let them grow Christmas tree style and hope they keep to themselves.

I’ll drop the seeds in h2o2 this weekend and into red solo cups by Monday. I’ll grow them in the Bay Area until they are ready to upgrade from the solos to 1 gal pots.

Their final home is going to be 7 gal airpots using two Vivosun irrigation controllers.
One controller will be delivering water only (with either Epsom salt or ca-mag timing dependent).
The other controller will deliver the nutrient load. Nutrients will be Dyna-gro a and b with additional micro nutrients.

I added a 200 watt blurple light into the tent along with the existing 230 watt, I’m hoping this will get me a little more bulk this cycle.

I’d love to add a hybrid or something, but I don’t think 4 in that tent will work. I might have trouble combining a sativa with a couple indicas, I might need to get creative.

I’ve been gearing up too. New methods, new equipment, and new beans.

Mixed up the soil a few days back and it should be cooked perfect for September. Printed a bunch of clips for LST or mainlining and put them on the pots. Have the new starter bags ready to go.

I’ve been using the outside grow and veggies to test things on. So far so good. Only down side is the small starter nursery bags don’t seem to breakdown as advertised. I’m guessing they are more like the vegetable garden shopping bags and break down in a few years if exposed to sunlight. Not finished testing yet but Bandit is finding similar results. I’ll just cut open the bottoms and remove after each grow.

Best of luck to you. I’ll be checking in as you go. 👍🍀

I’ve been toying with the idea of dropping the micros into the water reservoir (it’s a 5-0-0 load) but that allows me to maintain a 3-1-2 ratio with dynagro 9-3-6. Hoping that will make for the happiest plants in veg.

I’ll move to the dynabloom nute at the appropriate time.

I like getting the 5-0-0 load out of the fertigation tank, I just don’t want to stress them on the water only days which would now have a light nitrogen load. I’ll need to consider if those go away at flip too!

Plants are still gaining mass. The Super Blue Dream (x2) and KC Wolfenstein are about 10“ higher than my fence Now.

I dropped scrog nets over them after laying down across them (minimal hyperbole), I was literally arms up, leaning over on them as I gently bent the tops over. Now about 6” Below fence, so that helped but they pop through the nets regularly and gain altitude rapidly. I’m pushing it under the net a few times a day.

They all have that rich green look in the growth points, rapid growth look where nitrogen can’t get to the new growth rapidly enough and it just looks BRIGHT.

This past Sunday I trimmed about 5 lbs of mass from the three largest plants. Can’t even tell anything happened now! They are rapidly gaining mass. I’ll need to scrub the lower legs to get rid of stragler buds that are out of the light zone. I guess that’ll come about mid Aug.

When my outdoor got too tall I used a cheap white 4” or 5”plastic square mesh/fencing. About a 4’x6’ rectangle with a 1”x1” wooden stake stapled to each side to keep it open and give it weight. Made the plant move together and acted like a moving SCROG.

I saved it for future use. Just left it together and rolled it up.

A - Orange cream pop - sativa/hybrid from a bud.
B - Northern lights - indica from pacific seed bank.
C - Forbidden fruit - indica from a bud.

All spent 24 hours in h2o/h2o2 solution then moved to paper towels rolled up in jewel cases.
They have been in the jewel cases for 24 hours. The jewel cases are sitting in an h2o rooting compound solution, wicking moisture up to the seed.

I’ll drop them into solo cups with soil/perlite at the bottom and light soil at the top.

Looking to veg these for a month to 6 weeks once they are out of the solos. That puts these things flipping into flower mid October at the earliest.

Multiple updates and a change in lineup noted this morning.

Lineup change:
When my daughter was dropping the beans this weekend, she found that we had no Northern Lights left (darn, but that’s life), we swapped out Crystal Berry for the missing Northern Lights.

Updates:
After 24 hours in h20/h2o2 with a pinch of Epsom salt, the seeds were rolled into paper towels and spent two days in the dark in CD cases.

This morning (8/5),
Crystal Berry is growing with a 3/4” straight root. Dropped, root up, into starter soil in Solo Cup.
Orange Cream Pop is growing with a 1” root that forms a complete circle. Dropped with root tip up into Solo.
Forbidden Fruit, no root, a little extension but nothing extended beyond the seed casing. Dropped into Solo.

All solo cups are covered with plastic wrap to hold moisture in, these will be replaced with slurpee lids when the seeds break soil.

Another grow begins!

Dropped root up?

I had read some articles about the seed will reverse it’s direction and that’s what helps scour the shell from the growing leaves.

I don’t know if it’s BS or not, but it’s damn near impossible, once you drop them to determine how they land. They hit the edge of the hole and flip. They both landed as intended, through no talent of my own!

This morning shows Orange Cream Pop has broken the surface of the soil with the stem, the seed shell hopefully removed in the process. Fingers crossed.

This was a bagseed from dispo weed that I collected one seed about 4 years ago.
Everytime I sew seeds, I have looked at it wondering if it would be viable.

I took the chance this time and it was the biggest of the roots and the first to break soil.
That might make keeping it contained in a tent with two indicas a challenge?

I don’t recall how the dispo weed tasted, but I seem to recall liking it. I’m a sucker for sativas so if it’s at all like its name indicates, I will be pleased.

the image is poor due to being taken through the plastic covering the solo cup.

Whelp, that bastard damped off.

Since then, I’ve sewn three additional seeds (platinum GSC, og lush and forbidden fruit).

One of the initial seeds is up and looks good ( crystal berry) and one of the platinum GSC seeds popped up already.

Last year platinum was an auto, I’ll be ready for that this time!

At any rate, I put a 6” exhaust fan into my tent, it exhausts outside of the lung room.
I now have 6” in, 6” out.

I’m hoping I can clear a high rh event quickly.
Here’s the output if videos work.

Nice, lots of air flow. Hope it’s not near a bedroom window. Bloody noisy. 🤣

Around here, every house has an AC unit that is far louder that this. Ours was just replaced last year, it went from jet engine loud to whisper quiet. Old units are horribly loud but everyone keeps windows closed so who’s to know.

I have a Platinum GSC auto in the shed. No no tent for the auto, living in the lung room. In flower, it’ll provide humidity for the plants in the tent as the tent inlet is pulling right from the auto grow area.

Our temperatures are moderate to high, shed is 96 degrees, with 30% rh. Going to need the humidifier. IMG_0095.jpegIMG_0096.jpeg

Couple more seeds to be tried.

My luck has all been bad with the exception of a crystalberry that appears to be growing and a platinum GSC that hasn’t changed much in a few days.

So, into h2o/h2o2 one skywalker og, 4 Selva. I’m hoping for something to grow this fall but my success hasn’t been impressive 😞
