A Turkey In The Hay 🦃

Nice cord and a half! Killed one of the new skids though, the other one is under there somewhere

Not as much Hornbeam as the last delivery, lot of Rock Maple, Beech, Birch and Ash

One more cord & a half to go, but not for several weeks.

I've seen it before so I know it's true about deer laying down in the rain, but this morning when I opened the curtains there were four deer laying down in the field and several more a few hundred yards up-field, standing up

They were all looking downhill, right at me too, not sure why that was 🤔

It was too dark to get a picture and I fell back to sleep for an hour or so and they were gone when I woke up but I did see them; they look funny laying down too! Like big rabbits

Noticed I hadn't tarped-up the new wood and supposed to start raining any minute so I went out about a half an hour before sunrise to get it done and walked almost right into deer on the other side of the garage!

Happens once in awhile, once I went around the corner of the garage and was within 12 - 15 ft of a big son of a gun 😳, I usually just wave to them and keep going but that time I was really close, I froze then backed around the corner and got the hell out of there!

Hear turkeys in the east field behind the tree line just gobbling up a storm!

Finally saw one that look like a traditional turkey with the feathers all flared out and all about 2-3 weeks ago🦃, up until that point they didn't look very 'Thanksgiving-ish'IMG_20241012_173706.jpg

Update:

A little small, but topped twice

If I want these finished by the end of June I'm going to have to flip them like now or the 20th the latest

I think I'll turn it to 16 hours of light to start them slowly towards flowering and then flip them to 12/12 on the 20th

Little light green at 450 PPM, next watering they're going up to 600IMG_20250415_090659~2.jpg
