CannaGranny’s Corner a Thread For General BS and Good Will On BudBuilders

We have upper 70s and low 80s for a couple days, then a cold wet storm is supposed to swing through.

Therefore, I pledge to use a fan today and tomorrow while switching to the heater and dehuy on Wednesday. Yup, it’s spring!

My Nephew just sent me this. Found all in one place under a tree! He was worried that this may have been a burial site, but I don’t think so as this was all that was there. Fantastic find! View attachment 94702
I love this sort of thing. Makes you wonder what happened to cause so many to be left at one location. Imagine the hours of work that went into making those. Seems unlikely someone would just leave them behind. I guess it's possible they were found at the site where they were made and these were culls, for one reason or another. Gets my imagination going, lol.

Do you or your nephew know what people and/or time period these likely come from? Is there an indigenous museum or something that these go to, or do they become part of a private collection?

Well I now know this is called a cache. I know they need to be sent to a place called Dickeys to have them authenticated. They are called Turkey Tails. We know not to wash them and am being told they are worth in the hundreds of thousands. Being told it’s museum worthy.
I posted them to an artifact group that I am in and this has happened in less than an hour!
I finally had to tell them I am overwhelmed and cannot keep up! My iPad is dinging like a slot machine!IMG_3077.jpeg

Exciting stuff! I wonder if someone will ask your nephew to lead some archeologists to the site. I don't know how that works. May be different state-to-state and public property versus private property, idk.

It’s on private property. I don’t know how that works either.

My dad and I used to go hunt for arrow heads, pottery, and anything else we could find out in the desert. I still have the arrow heads we found. About half dozen or so.
