Back then a lot of companies jumped on the hippie bandwagon with commercials like that. Chiclets gum, Doublemint gum, Pepsi and others.

Hell, most of us grew up thinking Santa always looked like how Coke depicted him in the commercials.

Before all that I only heard these songs in early school years or at camp around the fire.

Amzon thinks you have more money than us poor Blue Noser's . Even 2 people in the same house if one uses a VPN and the other doesn't will get 2 different prices for the same item. MFkers know how to rip us off.

I should say can have 2 different prices, we did that last Christmas as a test and all was same. Ya, one reason I soured on the internet and computers in general. Algorithms are used for everything now. But mostly to sell you shit you don’t really need for as much as they can.

I don’t have a Amazon account. I use an anonymous browser. But if the exit point is used by a lot of people the algorithm thinks it’s the same person. So I get crossed results.

I always by local first, I like to see and check items out before I buy it. But if I have no other choice I’ll ask my son or a friend to grab it for me.

Same goes for things that become political. If I need it and I can’t get it from a local source you do what you have to do. I’ll sacrifice but I won’t cut off my nose to spite my face.

man thats some bullshit right there!! i didn't know that about them targeting prices!! should be illegal!

I had at least half a dozen computers on my home network. Did a little test with the kids. Only two prices matched out of six searches all using the exact same item link. Biggest spread was over $50, average was about $25 iirc. This was around 2010.

i'm in the same boat, where am i gonna go to get the same things? some aren't even offered local never mind the fuel and wear n tear on the trucks. nothing here is within walking distance, hell my mailbox is a mile away on a dirt road! haha

i could go back to ebay but then i have to deal with my post office which might be the worst in the country.

and i don't really travel often so it's not like i can say oh i'll just stop here or there... it's always a special trip!

it's like they got me right where they want me!!!!

A lot of people move north to retire. Cheaper taxes and utilities. But then you have to pay to play if you want or need anything. Amazon fills that gap but takes more advantage of it as time goes on and they learn how far they can go without losing to many customers.

Yes its dehue time again, I'm running my big machine on non stop turbo and Its down to 56% but I think my machine is maxed out, I'll have to start my second one up to get it into the 40's here at 8.5 week in flower. Just as the heat bill starts to come down the elect goes up.

Not as bad as you yet, but getting there. Rain keeps missing us, just enough falling to make it even more humid. Basement sounds like an airport with all the fan action.
