All of my protests are silent. I actually haven't spent money in any of those establishments that support hate.

I am happy to pay for shipping when buying from the manufacturer direct. Instead of giving Bezos another penny. In fact, I have found that most of the manufacturers have NO shipping charges. Fuck, I just bought a bunch of grow equipment, including four new fucking lights for the tent...not one cent in shipping charges.

I paid minimal shipping charges when ordering direct from Teraganix, and my shit is fresh and not expired. I ordered from Amazon the first time I tried it, and just like all of my organic ammendments from Amazon, they had months before expiration or they were already expired.

So, yea...I am silently fighting the good fight.

I for one believe that in general - new shooters - women are better than men. My wife is living proof.

We took a couple of pistol courses. I had lots of experience going in, hers was minimal. At the end the proof was that she was a better shot that day. You can tell a lot about a person if they are open to that info or not. Personally, I was not humbled, rather proud. But I have nothing to prove to her either.

My father was a Molecular Biologist and a Biochemist.

He was calm, quiet, collected and a wonderful human.

He loved history, outdoors, sports, and nature, cooking and one of his hobbies was making beer, gin, and vodka and even a one time attempt at a dessert wine of sorts, and he was very good at it, although he focused more on specialty beers at the end and baking bread.

Another hobby was the shooting range or firearms. He had many and most were historical in nature, or had a special connection to history. He didn't just go out and purchase fancy new long guns.

He acquired his collection thru trades or used firearms from trusted sources, all legal of course.

One day we went together and he had something similar to what is on your picture. Not the same, but the set up was very close. Again, I know NOTHING about firearms.

The target was very far away and I believe it was 1 inch thick metal. The rounds were absolutely huge. If I remember correctly, he said it was a high powered rifle, accurate to over a mile. I am sure I am WRONG, but it was many years ago and I just don't know.

My Father only fired a few rounds and then invited me to shoot a round. It was amazing to experience. Very formal, very clinical, extremely precise. Everything he did to prepare me was so intense in a good way.

The power and technology of it all, was so very interesting and demanded respect and it was something that really impressed me.

I wore ear and eye protection, and recall the shot hitting target, effortlessly pulling trigger, and no shoulder damage.

It was like traveling at the speed of light in slow motion. If you can wrap your head around that, then you need to get lit.

Just my thoughts. Miss my Father, so thanks for that memory.

Yes indeed, I load rounds at different powder weights and then test for the best waterline minus vertical and horizontal spread. Then I run with the one that groups the tightest. Seems this barrel like the last grooves on 33.1 grains.

Do you stick to one weight?

I have to try different available rounds. Especially in .22LR, sooo many different results rifle to rifle. At least for decent target scores.

Even with .223/5.56 I’ve tried 40’s to 70’s just for an excuse to go for a day trip. I definitely noticed better groupings with other than the standard 55gr.

I’ve read/heard reloading can be quite the rabbit hole itself. 🤣

I think it’s a reposted pic but always a pleasure seeing Stella. 👍

No, I do load development. Rabbit hole is an excellent way to describe that! I watch speed, grouping and listen to what the barrel likes.
For me it’s all about scores. I’m a pretty hard competitor to the guys.
 
Good Mornoon.

Been up since 6. Watched local weather while sipping coffee. Then, got busy working on honeydews for 2025 grow (outdoor).

Autoflower seedlings look good and are ready to be transplanted into their forever homes. I prepped the Super Soil and moved it to a warm (radiant floor heat) room.

I stored it in bins in the cold Lung Room, over Winter. I'm confident it was kinda dormant. So, I added some fresh worm castings, rice hulls, perlite, Bokashi Bran, organic molasses powder and mixed thoroughly.

I then placed it in 5 gallon fabric pots. They are sitting directly in trays without elevation, so the heated floor will bring the soil up to temperature. I then watered with a mixture of EM-1, Bokashi Juice, and well water. Floor temperature is 90F, as Winter is over and shutting down the heated floor for Summer. Once the soil reaches the desired temperature of 70F, I'll place the pots on elevators, to prevent overheating. This is my first time doing this...lol. Looks good on paper.

They will sit overnight or until they reach a temperature of 70F. Once the soil is ready, I will transplant them. I'll dust the roots with Great White Mycorrhizae top them off with a little EM-1 water and keep them out of direct Sunlight for the first day.

I do the soil prepping in a way that I hope will jump start my microbiological life in the soil. Although it is not Living Soil, it is somewhat alive. I am counting on the soil having microbes and organic nutrients available to the plants. After three weeks, I will top dress with DTE 4-8-4 and worm castings. That should take them to the end. Watering will be dependent on rainfall and managed in a way to take advantage of my EM-1, Bokashi Juice, and just plain rainwater.

These Autoflowers will sit on my patio with me as I enjoy life and watch them grow. I will also be transplanting Photoperiods, but they will go directly in the ground, so completely different and the first time for me. I will incorporate some leaf mold, tree bark etc. for mulching and ground cover. Not sure about pots though...maybe just some straw or semi thick layer of rice hulls. Just want to keep microbes alive...lol.

Okay, its 1:30, so now it's time to get lit, sip some tea and watch golf on TV while napping on and off and on again. I love life.

Your nephew's artifact find has been in the back of my mind. Have you guys learned anything new? I enjoy history and actually poked around trying to get an idea on the people and time period those may have come from, but my little bit of Internet sleuthing was pointing me to the Adena culture (500BC-100AD). They were centered around Ohio. Their geographical range may not have extended to your neck of the woods, but they had some similar-looking artifacts. I think the ones I saw were knives, where I was expecting spear or some kind of projectile. Wrong again, lol. The scale might be completely different than what you guys are looking at.

Neat stuff. Just curious how long they might have been hiding there.

Currently these rocks are being looked at by an archaeologist. They are determined to be between 2400-3600 years old. The Ohio Valley River region runs through that area in a certain mountain range. I think not sure, but I do know the Appalachian and Cumberland run through that area. What makes this such an amazing find is that they are all intact!
The Adena Culture has been mentioned many times on the artifact forum.
My neck of the woods is the Missouri Ozarks, the nephew lives in Western Ky.
I’ve learned a lot in the last week about artifacts. You can imagine some unknowning person such as myself innocently posts finding the Holy Grail of rock hunters.
Immediately my messenger blew up! Good advice, bad advice, shysters. One fellow told me that my nephew was one of the finest nappers in the US and even so, knowing they were fake would still be “willing” to pay me 1500.00 for them!
I know my nephew likes to nap alright, with his eyes closed!
So, as soon as the facts are in, I’d be happy to share what I know. I have been told they will be carbon dated.
In the meantime we are keeping the nephews name private as not to make him a target of theft, and I’m dealing with the craziness online.

I’ll bet they do see a lot of people trying to pass off stuff they made as treasure. Wonder if that’s why they advised against cleaning them? Maybe they can date them by the material coating them.

Reading about some of the other big caches, I’d say your nephew’s name will be well known among people that follow these artifacts.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful morning! As for me, it’s torture day. It’s my every three month grocery shopping day. I’d rather eat dirt. 150 miles round trip, and three months supply is a whole days work. Oh well big girl up and get it done then I won’t have to do it again for another 3-4 months.
It’s probably one of the most beautiful springs I have seen in many years in the Ozarks. My fruit trees have escaped a freeze, now we have 9-12” of rain on the way, if the buds don’t rot, I see tons of goodies on the way.

I too, have a similar situation whereby I purchase ten 40lb bags of Water Softener Salt for my Kinetico Water Treatment System that includes RO.

I have two partial knee replacements, three rotator cuff surgeries of which one included detaching my long head bicep tendon, and fucked up back (as we all do) so it is not fun making 10 trips from driveway to basement, which includes stairs to get down in basement lol.

One bag lasts a month, but after carrying these sucker's last week, I promised to purchase a single bag every time we go in now. It's just too much all at once, at my age. Fucking LOL!

Oh well, my ride is only 70-80 minutes round trip. We hit the big city at least once if not twice a month.

Granny, my old apricot tree just started blooming yesterday, got pounded with rain last night and still has flowers!! the peach trees are just getting buds on the tips.. hoping to make some more peach wine!!!

Sure, I would love the convenience of being able to shop for fresh produce everyday.

Hell, it would be nice to walk to a show or restaurant.

But, that would mean that I would have to give up the country life. I'd hate not waking up to the horses, chickens, ducks, rabbits and goats next to me or any of the farms, meadows woods, and water that surround my home, here in the country.

No, it doesn't smell of crap...haha.

That's just me...lol.

no, the first one was from driving around on some crazy billy goat road on the tip top crack of a mountain that we decided to take the rental jeep up lol.

The hydro st. is where the Manitou Incline starts, 2768 steps of straight madness lol

I would love to share this with you guys and gals, it was one of my favorite parts of the trips, as crazy as it sounds. Hint: It makes sense to know that my wife and I are hikers and have a few big hikes on our bucket list, and this was one of them. The half dome in CA is another that's still on the list for example.

this AI overview is the best summary i've seen so far, here i am, ain't done anything physical in 6 months plus, struggling up this incline while mofos are running up, and one guy was on his second run up. people are sick out there lol. Even though you're not supposed to go down, some people run down them, it's so steep at some spots i had to crawl up the steps because i was close to falling backward. the wife and i did it, we fucking took our time but had the same pace as several groups as we kinda went up together, passing, breaking, passing, breaking.
yeah, we fucking did it, and i think it is cool af, cause it's just crazy hard, there are 4 "bailout" points on the way up that you can exit and take the trail down, each one I was so close to quitting, but the wife pushed me. The people running do this in about 30-45 minutes, we took longer than that... lol

That kid in the pic did this for his 10th year birthday! We overheard them, and the dad pulled a big sign out too, lol.
there weren't any other kids that we saw at the top, i did notice a good share of military with light gear on them, runners, super moms, and then us average joes here and there lol

After we got down we had lunch and a beer at a place in Manitou Springs. Later this same day we went and visited Manitou Cliff Dwellings.

This was one of our 5 nights out there, I need to curate the photos, and a video or two more, then will share all.
Maybe make a montage or something, it's nothing fancy, but it was probably the best vacation the wife and I ever had, the weather was perfect, the history of the land, the landscape, the feel of the mountains up on you when you drive around town, all of it is truly majestic, at least to a nature lover
