Got mad constant air flow, for scrubbing and to handle this. At least that was the plan. I have ventilation over kill for a 2x4, 4 & 6" intakes and 6" exhaust. Plus the rh has been low, ane my temps are on the warm side giving high VPD.

Not sure on ppfd, you think I don't have enough power? In hindsight I think I underpowered week 7 or something of flower, I probably added two weeks to it I guess.

No, curious if you're giving them too intense or too much light if they are supposed to be ripening and finishing up

Yup, we gotta mimic the seasons, it seems, just how nature does it.

After all, they've been evolving on the same schedules more or less over hundreds of million of years.


On a different note, I suspect we can manipulate plant evolution a lot faster than bigger cellular systems like animals take.


I forget that too sometimes and wondering my plants won't stop throwing out fucking pistils when they should be ripening lol
 
Yeah, thanks again. Been too long, I forgot. I had the light down from 100 to 40 today.
I just turned it completely off, and going to see what just these booster lights do to them by themselves.

I'm getting real antsy lol

My visual assessment of trichomes:
<1% clear
80-85% cloudy
15-20% amber

the conditions are near perfect!

scenario: the banana blaze seed came from a total of i think 3 seeds from a previous crop. had 4 plants in that run, all different genetics, no other plants dropped seeds. The 1st generation banana blaze that gave me the seeds didn't have any signs of herm or anything. it was a complete surprise to find the few seed randos months down the line in the bottom of the bag

question: is anything that throws seeds and flowers a herm, or what happened here on that first run?

follow up thought: i thought seeds produced from a herm produce herms

i know @Observer will love to ponder on this, your mind is always going man, and that's a good thing

without further research, I suppose those seeds would just be "more unstable", but maybe out of probability, some could still be good, but the % isnt really worth growing out.

originally fem seeds from dutch passion, then that threw maybe 2-3 seeds, with zero signs during flowering of playing both sides. unless some random pollen hit just one select spot, idk. either way, it's funny

I make carts from rosin from my press and the stuff is just great.
You can adjust how much of what you mix and KNOW there is no funny shit in it.

Finally done with drying, all bagged up.

About to head out on big bike ride and then start cleaning tent tonight and water system

i ran the bleach through mine a couple weeks ago, i was shocked at the sludge it left in the bottom!! kinda gross, but also nice to know it was clean!!!

Man I already did 4 flushes with bleach and water before letting it go for a day. A lot of shit was coming out the chiller. Next time I'll flush the chiller with water before letting it sit in between runs... Hindsight is a bitch

i scrubbed the shit out of mine with a toilet brush while the bleach water was in there. after i drained it out i sucked up all the nasty brown sludge with a shop vac... i was amazed just how much nasty there was man, it didn't look that dirty at all before i cleaned it, but there was pudding in the bottom grooves!!! just gross. i felt so much better about when i was done!! it's the first time i cleaned the system since building it. i now know not to let it get that bad ever again!!

This works great, the press works great, but what doesn't fucking work apparently through first hand trial, very frustrating trial and error is that flower rosin does not vape well, no matter the viscosity, tried thick to thin, very inconsistent, it would hit then not hit, couldn't figure it out.

I got a new battery based on me thinking the old one was trash and that was why, but same thing even with new battery.

I was about to buy new carts and try again until I found this,

While this is only Reddit and not proven science, I can now also vouch for this. The cart wasn't wicking right... I went through 6 carts, dumping the oil out into a new one, and I still thought it was just me or the cart, but this makes more sense.

It wasn't wicking right!!! That's why everything else checked out, connections were clean, coils were heating great, oil was perfect consistency, great airflow, but almost zero vape.

For now I have the new e-rig, yocan i-can, and I love it! Next harvest i will make live bubble hash and then live hash rosin, should do the trick. Never made bubble, so I will need to research on what I need to learn and the most cost effective way for me to get into it on the right scale for a 2 plant grower.

I've found this to be the same for me too. Even dewaxed and in a cart flower rosin either gets overcooked and nasty or returns to crystal form unable to wick or anything. Like it locks up or something.
I still tinker with it but end up having to cut it with terps or thinners so much I don't want it.
I use Puffco gear because of the type of ovens they use work both great with flower rosin and are ez to clean up after every load. Infusing a flower joint with flower rosin is always a nice option too ;gr

Ah so it isn't just me!

My friend told me about puffco, then I saw the prices... I bet I'll get one in the near future though lol. They are a great build for sure

I probably never would've been able to justify buying a puffco peak until I won one in a dispensary drawing... it replaced my torch and rig in a heartbeat. I started using it to smoke diamonds and damn was that easy. Just tap some rocks into the bowl like a salt shaker and rip it..

I love my Pufco Peak! I still cough up a lung when using it though ;smoke and they are pricy....
