Everything Ninjadip

It says US only but but this looks close to my dream unit if it works, so took a peek.

😳 Still says US only but it’s $1038.View attachment 93163

Little ouch. $

Looks like a wait. Interested in real reviews down the road. View attachment 93165
Honestly there's probably not a whole lot more to it than a portable heat pump. Obviously it would do heat, cool & air circulation, so the only real trick would be dehumidification. But that could be done pretty easily. Basically if you disconnect the exhaust pipe of a portable AC unit it becomes a dehumidifier. All you would need is a couple dampers to direct air either through the venting to the outside or back into the room if you want to dehumidify. The problem would be working out controls for everything. Not that it can't be done, or would even be necessarily that difficult. However given that about the cheapest I can find a portable heat pump is about $450 that doesn't leave you much budget to buy dampers & controls before it would become more expensive that the ACI one. However at $1,000+ you could maybe justify DIY'ing one.

Yeah but at $600 USD it's not much more than a portable AC/heat pump, which is maybe only 100 more than a sweet deal, imo. With a coupon/discount code it's a great setup for someone that doesn't want any diy

Yeah that's basically what I was saying for anyone in the US DIYing it wouldn't make much sense, but it looked like it was over $1,000 to get one wherever he is so it might be worth DIYing at that price. At $600 you're going to have a hard time getting a machine (or even multiple machines) that does all that at that price point. I paid close that just for a portable dehumidifier.

It was USD vs Canadian dollars

It was USD vs Canadian dollars
Yeah I knew that was part of it but I didn't realize how much higher the exchange rate is now. That's basically just over $700 US dollars which would still be pretty tricky to beat by enough of a margin to justify the pain in the ass of actually doing it

I have a heater/air conditioner but you have to choose which.
If the AC Terra thing run according to room readings meaning it would heat if cold or cool if hot without me having to choose that is a big win.
My 8-10k heater/AC [ LG ] was $500 3 years ago.
