I've got some autos going in the kitchen again. All are in coco and getting Jacks for food. The 3 solos are in a tote with a layer of hydroton and coco....I'll cover the coco with more hydroton as soon as I get some cleaned up.
3 Blue Moon in the tote and 1 in the center of wick bases......the other 2 are Maui autos from Growerschoice seeds

I always loved how Tommy Chong, in interviews, had pot plants growing all over his house like most people grow houseplants. Always wondered how he dealt with the smell, or rather I suppose the wife bitching about the smell.

Love the concept, could not get away with it personally unless I wanted to sleep in the basement.

Plants seem to love it.

Trust me...I'm pushing my luck here lol
I'm allowed the area you see here...and that's it!
The smell has been an issue in the past.....trying to convince her not this time. ;smoke
I managed a huge Auto last grow...got a lb off it all together. Side light helped a lot. Good Shit auto from Phoenix seed20241202_071054.jpg

It got cold again here so rh is in the 30's and temp is right around 70f....I'm using that as an excuse for slow growth ;smoke
All got topped in an effort to keep everyone short. Probably going to need some more chopping if they grow.
My supervisor isn't impressed either.....not enough leaves to eat.

So help me understand this brother, your using the base as a res and it runs threw the top and goes out to waste?
It just recirculates....there are wicks also. The top drip is a new experiment...not sure that it's helping anything at this point. Doesn't seem to hurt either though.

The other plants I have on the setup are doing better in tents. The 70f and rh <40% aren't helping these guys in the kitchen.

Im misunderstanding something,

It's not constant?...just for feeding times?

I played with constant but the pump running all the time in the small res was heating up more than I liked. Right now they are all watering/feeding for 15mins twice a day.

My thinking was that the airstones in the base would oxygenate and I could get that to the roots easier/better by dripping it down instead of wicking it up. To be honest I don't see where it's helping anything.

I just top off the bases with solution from the aircube res. I checked ec and ph once and scared me so bad I don't check anymore. The ec was in the 4's but ph was in the upper 5's...no idea why the plants don't cook. I've used the wicks like this without the drip for a while with good results with soil, straight perlite, and now coco. Again I don't know how it works with the ec so high....but it does.

Alright that's fair...I get it now. I'll bet you could just add an air supply and be ok as well. You loose me with the ec, but I'm OK with it....
But ya okay thanks man

Edit::; just an air line

Here's the bottom line. The wick bases work great for feeding through them just like dwc with small res. The airstones in the base seems to help with oxyegenation.....the top drip is a waste I think.

The ppm in the base climbs as I top off but doesn't seem to hurt even when it's ridiculously high. So I don't bother checking ppm or ph in the bases and so far have had no issues.

So if your considering something like this just use the wicks and maybe an airstone. Feeding through the base instead of just water improved my yield, but that can be just me and poor habits.

Here's what I like to see in my bases.20241201_084958.jpg

It's almost a kratky type thing going on is my best guess. The solution just keeps getting stronger but the plants don't seem to care. No idea why....

The airstone definitely helped once roots are in the base.

Well....you can't "not" see that its fine then idk...
Interesting

Doing a little better....and then the weather goes to shit and rh is back to the 30's. The Maui autos on the left are showing their sativa linage and stretching to the moon even after topping. Time for a heavy defo on the 4 on the right20250407_075036.jpg

The super Mario Bros combo there just makes it a legit duo
I couldn't stop laughing at first and then I'm like wait,

Those could make one hell of a sea of green with huge single colas .... Oh man that would be sick
Great minds think alike!
I was thinking something like this with a tray under it I could feed/water the whole grow all at once....
