Grump's Kitchen Sink Grow 🌱

We're at 84 with the lights on. Our house AC is kapoot so that's as low as I can get it during daylight hours.

-------

I figured I better get a bean going so I dropped one of these...

Keep an eye out for a Grump's Stinky Pink Grow.. coming soon.

-------

I got a buddy that's gonna gift me a 4x4 tent so I'm in the design phase of a small RDWC setup for some mothers. You guys are gonna love it.
U have lights going during the day?

I personally run the "day" light cycle during the night, to help combat daylight summer/heat, sometimes, or during summer, I run the lights during the night, turn off during the day with every grow.

Helps balance/control parameters, easier on equipment imo.

And run 80-82/60-65, unless you can supplement co2, is that in the thought down the line?

But by the time they really start flowering, atleast it should be cooler out.

We also have peek hours here. They charge more for power during the day so we do the lights on at night. Also helps with heat over winter.

I run my lights to best coincide with my work schedule. That and it's boring as shit waiting all day on my days off to see and take care of the plants. Daytime just works for me.

CO2 would be sweet, but that'll have to wait until I have a couple rooms built for it. Mini-splits in each room and whatnot.

Yeah.. it cooled right off the very next day. Down to 50 at night. I usually run 80-82, depending on my leaf temps. 84 is fine with me as long as they don't appear to be over-stressed.

Still stretching and starting to stack. Plants are taking in nearly a gallon per day apiece and they're eating like it's the last time they'll see nutes.

We're coming up on 3 weeks after flip so I've got a res change planned for this weekend. Budsites forming so I'm sure they'd like a little extra. Headed to a bloom mix which is the same as what they're getting now plus a PK booster. As hungry as they seem to be and as hard as I pushed them these last couple weeks have me assuming they'll be happy with more than 1000ppm so I'll aim for that to start.

Yessir. They'll take in more and more until the last couple weeks. That's a good indicator for when your buds will be ready. They'll stop eating and start drinking less and less every day.

A gallon per day is pretty standard for me as budsites start to form. They'll get to almost 2 gallons each when things really start to fatten up.

We're somewhere around 3 weeks after flip and it's a jungle in there. They're starting to stack so I went in and cleared 'em out.

These things are SMELLY. Stem rubs and nug smashes give me that dirty dish towel smell I'm after, but I'm also catching something strong... something like mustard? Can't quite figure it out but I love it. It's funky.

Res change today with Bloom nutes and a PK booster. Pray for my chiller. It's really damn hot in my basement. The RO res came out at 80 damn degrees. It's down to 75 now.20251010_150039.jpg20251010_160611.jpg

I gotta brag a little... I emptied my first jugs of Bloom A and B. 1 gallon jugs used over the last 3 grows. I emptied Bloom A with 300ml in the beaker and Bloom B emptied right at 200ml. A year and 3800ml later and I was only off 100ml... clap 👏

Took some blues out of the spectrum, moving to the flower settings. Tops of the plants vary in ppfd and range from 550 to 750 at tallest cola. Roughly 26 to 32 DLI.

This is the tent's situation. VPD is a little higher than that. I haven't messed with the leaf temp offset in a while, and humidity has dropped after the cutting.

Love the stripping.

I'm still on the side that, proper pruning and defoliation to that extent can be beneficial per the goals, if done correctly, ie, growth medium, environment, lighting/spectrum, nutrition/ratios, and stage.

I agree. I strip almost all the fans bigger than my fist and take branches that won't amount to much. All those baby fans that I left will be big dogs soon and some of them will need removed too.

Midway through the 3rd week of flower. No signs of herms yet, although there are a couple little bits I'm keeping an eye on.

All's good here aside from a little bleaching on the tallest colas. I expect it with the varied heights. Much more even than my prior seed runs but you can tell there were a few colas that got a little more juice than the others.

You can see how much they've bounced back already, after the heavy defoliation. I could've taken more actually.
