Took me a while too. We bought some as well as starting by seed. Took a month before I got the swing of it.
I did learn a few tricks from you I can use. The Bokashi soil mixed with some compost and manure. Then I mix it half and half with the old soil. Testing it out this year with all the sunflowers. Want to do it with all the vegetable soil next year.

It’s taking a while but I’ll get there.

Nice outdoor space!

Neat. Do you like the flavor of the Dragon's Tongues??

I went with some old standbys: Burpee's Burpless (least productive but largest variety for me), Straight Eight and Tendergreen. My wife likes the tiny varieties (like3"-4") that are good to snack on skin and all. I need to find a good variety for that, next year. I had hoped the Tendergreen are would fit the bill, but are bigger than I was looking for. Still a good cucumber, though.

I also sampled some sashimi cucumbers grown at the local nursery. Medium to large size, smooth skin and small seed pocket. I liked that one and am considering planting some next year.

Ya I like them.they are crunchy with no seeds until they get huge. Great for pickles.

Your vegetable all look great. You've got a green thumb, for sure. I'm jealous of the onions. I haven't done great with spring onions, but I haven't fertilized them right and am usually getting sets out. I might try planting a short day variety, soon.

Ha! That sunflower is a beast.

Nice haul on cucumbers. I just effed up a bunch of mine. I put them in a mini fridge over night. The little fridge usually just has drinks in. Turns out it was too cold and froze the cucumbers.

Keep them frozen, use them for smoothies. Or make viniger.

I have found with the onions the biggest ones are the ones growing on the top of the soil, like 3/4 sticking out.only my second year growing them.

I’ve yet to try them. As a kid I remember a batch I was helping to harvest. Soft and/or rotting in the ground. Don’t remember why but probably too wet.

I tried green onions this year but none popped. Old seeds but most likely my fault.

Look forward to your pics. 👍
