Observers Fog Experiment

good to hear your getting some relief, i've been there man.. a life of dirt biking, i've had road rash quite a few times along with all the broken bones that comes with it.

hope ya heal up with no lasting damage!!

right?!?! smoke a bunch first and get your voice sounding all old, come up with a sad story i bet they'll give ya 60 days free!!!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

wow i bet that five disc'r really throws out the mist!!!! Moe, how many plants (and at what size) would something like that be appropriate for?
I put 2 in each tote 8 total in a 4x8 tent.

It’s a balancing act between on and off times, size of fog res, how much wind you have and fog per minute. I have larger foggers but the just added heat with no other benefits. The smalller ones could not keep the coco moist.

wow just two plants, the fog is thicker than i had originally imagined. so is there a certain amount of fog that is the sweet spot? meaning, is all that juggling of timing and amounts just to keep the hardware happy? or are you really just trying to pack the absolute most fog possible into every cubic inch of rootzone?

I think you have seen the photos of the roots in these systems before. I can dig them up if not.

What I have found is that 2 weeks is plenty for veg and the roots at that point are huge. When you have seedlings, filling the totes with fog is total overkill. When you have significant root structure, you run the risk of the middles drying out if you do not put a fair amount of fog and wind in there together. I did see this when I was working thru my on/off timings, when things are too dry the middle part of the root ball tends to suffer.

So much of this is setup and plant dependent, I like the ability to over do it or dial it back as needed. I do that with the timings.

I found that no matter what I did in my particular setup that single or 3 disk units were not satisfactory. Single units never turned off. If you have a smaller fog void area, it may work fine for you.

Also - all my testing has been with O2 injected. Probably not a fair comparison to standard fogponics, so some of what I am saying may not apply. There is no manual when it comes to fog, you gotta feel your way thru it.
