Newb here, would this be possible/super inconvenient?

Oo

Hell yea.

Hydro is about the fastest growth u can get without going down the rabbit hole of a fog or aeroponics systems/O2 Injected.
Ooh, fog? That sounds sweet! I'm already barely treading in the deep end of growing! That rabbit hole seems mighty inviting though. I(Alice,) will withhold for now... Do you dabble in such? Sounds spendy... U all r mad by the way, that bug bit u all HARD! lol Than again, seems like a nice, rewarding way to spend time

Moe.red has a fog system

When I get back up I hope to get an aero system running.

After reading this thread idk if I should go drip irrigation and Coco coir or just go full hydro and get a DWC. PA hydroponics makes some nice stuff and Gary is the man.
You should try it in your sleeping quarters and we can compare notes and such lol. I dunno what the pros and cons are for each. Were you leaning towards the drip initially or vice versa?

Fog is probably the most robust growth I have ever gotten. It takes holding your mouth just right tho. Lots of things that need to be ironed out in the engineering phase.
U eat, breath, and live for growing huh?! I'm super pumped to get my shit set up in the next day or 2! Lots to get done and after 12hr shifts, not much time to tackle the initial setup on workdays. I'll have to look into fog just to c what kind of crazy, mad scientific shit u get into lol

Man I used to. Tough to find the time these days.

That’s an o2 concentrator. Badassery

Know the life expectancy and maintenance involved.
I was looking at them when considering RDWC.

i've been shopping them for a little while and won't take the plunge till at least after this new run. but maybe after the new year.

gotta make sure not many hours have been used but there seem to be quite a few that get sold and always new ones popping up.. craigs list has had a few with even better deals than ebay. i have time to shop and score a good one hopefully.

I was leaning towards the drip at first. And then I started thinking about what if I use that money to buy a DWC set-up. I mean if I am storing nutrients in a reservoir and then running lines to my plants I mind as well just go full hydro. The growth rate for hydro is better than coco. But at the same time I really got coco coir down and I have great success.

What's better DWC or RDWC?

recirculating makes it easier to keep the proper height levels and nutrient levels/ph due to the larger volume of solution, in turn also making it more stable and thats what plants like, steady and smooth without erratic changes.

a non recirculating system requires more fillings and level changes in turn creating a more stressful life for the plant.

Explain to me how if I try to buy a flood and drain tray online they want 150$ to deliver the damn thing. But if I order a 55 inch TV I get free delivery 🚚

right?!?! and the tv probably cost half the price! i get what ya mean man.. crime!

Ok that makes sense. Would fallponics be considered recirculating?

People using o2 for medical reasons are notoriously not using them forever. My mil used hers for less than a month in hospice.

The resin that acts as the molecular sieve can be replaced when it gets tired. Not too expensive. Other than something breaking that is the only maint.

I got thru at least 5 grows on my first one I bought new before it needed it.

It also means you can eliminate the air pump.

One last thing- it’s not just about putting o2 in the root zone. You really want to remove it from the growspace. Plants make o2 up top and co2 below. Your job is to reverse this and put the o2 from the leaves into the roots. Removing o2 from the tent leaves more room for co2 and N. So the input to the concentrator should come from the tent not the lung room. This is a problem because humidity kills the zeolite fast. So I printed a giant desiccant filter that sits between the tent and concentrator.

The devil is in the details.

Wish I had advise to give ya, but it looks like you got this!

If you are only growing 4 plants this round, make sure to block off the unused holes so the light doesn't get to the roots.

I guess I did after all.

DO IT! 🤣
