Your gonna have to at least have one Auto grow throw the seed in the pot no transplant and let it grow
Seed in the pot no transplant?........nooooooooooooo......against my hard held belief that's just wrong?
No matter what I grow I gotta move up in pot size. I don't know how its possible to water correctly in large pots with small plants. it may be an affliction I have, like a quirk, but I spasmed as I read that....lol

Im the same lol. Always get told to water to run off but hars if in a big pot .also never done a auto either. Was told they dont yield well. These look good yield to me

I water with a syringe when starting from seed
I see roots moving 2-3 inches south in a day then hit the bottom and curl with no bottom they will continue in moist soil. until they hit dry soil and they don't grow into dry soil as per Auqaman ,watering with a syringe is a guess where the roots are, isn't it?

I water the pot not the plant, I make sure everything is wet and move on......until they hit the auto pots that is .........

I don't know I guess if I started in the auto pots it might work for me......remember old guy here, new things confuse me....

Curious....what is your process? What are you doing different that another soil grower is doing or is this purely genetic? Like I said, most autos I see are small, like maybe 24" in circumference.
You might recall that most of the freakish looking autos that we used to see on the old site were from ILGM and Pacific seeds.

I pack my fabric pots with promix, earth worm castings, perelite then all pots are drenched and i let them sit in tent till they dry back maybe a week. Add seed one syringe of seed starter with kelp and add one syringe full of water every three days. After two weeks spray soil with 500 mils water then add 500mils water and seed starter as plant grows so does the amount of water and nutes. Works for me

If I ever grow autos again they would go in big final pot right away.
I up potted my autos the one year I grew them and the roots really stayed very close to original pot size upon final inspection.
Even with less than stellar roots some were well into 4 feet plus.

Those plants look great OLDCRO ~!

I bought a pen press & a vice to hold my stock upright on a drill press while I bore a hole. My new lathe works for that as well but its awkward backing it out after about 1/2 " each time then reinserting and getting another 1/2" at a time. On long holes I've bored off line and missed center at the opposite end but I'm closer to center now with the new vice.

At 6 weeks into flower my buds are smaller than most I've grown, I'm not sure the far reds lights are helping at all. The flowers smell great and they are hard and sticky so maybe its just the strains ,Grunts and Green Crack I haven't grown in the past...we'll see, I was hoping the reds would help them finish faster but I'm not seeing any signs that will be happening. I think I started 12.5/11.5 too soon and I should have weened them into that.

I dropped 4 more seeds yesterday and they are germinating now, I can already see cracks and tails on 2. I chose 2 Frozen Custered, I got in a pipe swap with Zenseeker, thanks Zen. & 2 from MoeRed a from a pic of the month prize Called Bubba Mac & Cheese, thanks Moe. They both look like fun times with reviews and pics I've seen.....

We were supposed to get snow all day but nothing yet at 4pm maybe it went north into New Brunswick....so sad....loljan7group.JPGpenpress.JPGpenvice.JPGactrilic2.JPG

Nice grow going on again are you going 8 or 10 ten weeks in flower. i harvested 2 of my autos today and will take down the other 3 next weekend.
I was hoping for 8-9 week harvest with the Far reds but its not looking that way now. I flipped Dec1 so I'm at 6 weeks and they're looking more like 4-5 week in size. They're getting there I can see them bulking up daily but some of the lowers are tiny compared to previous grows. Still smells great though, I don't have any carbon filters so it permeates though the house now, I don't notice it because I'm used to it but after I go outside then return its pretty obvious there's something living in our house that's wildly scented.......I love it, my wife doesn't care and either do the cats....lol...weeez good

It takes a fine nose to be able to distinguish between growing and been smoked, I'm sure we can tell the difference, being growers , but most folks that don't grow just smell pot and they can tell one from the other. seeing as I smoke around the clock its just a normal scent around here.......I exhaust to my oil tank room that's not well sealed or heated so the oil delivery guy gets a nose full too.

idgaf 🤷‍♂️ (bout the smell or exhaust in my zone)

o_O

haha

👊

i just keep the smoke away from daughta

You joked about me tasting for e.c/saltiness of the solution before, well I dip my finger in the RES and taste it, I taste for the peroxide, too weak or strong of a taste or burn in my gives me an idea for adjustments on that front

Would like to buy a ORP sensor though, lol.

Jan 9, I dropped 4 Friday night and 3 are up out of the dirt today, only 1 Bubba Mac & Cheese still to pop. I'm going to drop a few more tonight, I want 6 in total ready to go when my current crop is finished. I've already lost what's what....I know 1 is a Frozen Custerd but I'm not sure which one is the other FC. I had 2 side by side that were sisters then ooops all red cups = wtf did I do now......Maybe I shouldn't smoke and plant.....na whats the fun in that?

No playing three card Monty with red cups. 🤣

I don’t use labels, only two strains going that grow differently, but I know some use a sharpy on their red cups. 😉

Keep dry and warm today sir. Very yucky out there today.

Well used cups with writing on them already gives me no indication which is which but it doesn't really matter. They distinguish them selves well at around 6-7 weeks in flower and with the Auto Pots they all get the same food anyways so meh.....This is a habit with me, I take care to identify while I pop then plant with ID then fk up with transplanting but this time I'm ahead of the game I lost the tag at the start.....I'll carry on like I'm normal....lol....even though we all know I'm not.

I do auto's from glass to 3 gal material bags, I water the pot as stated, keep the coco moistened but with just very little nutrients as they 1st. emerge from the Coco & perlite. SS

They're lovely looking plants you keep👍

Do you bother with pebbles or perlite in the bottom of the autopots?
I've been using clay balls that I flush clean with 6.00ph'd water for a few days then I cover air domes with them, maybe 2" of balls. I then use a 50/50 ish mix of Perlite and Promix with a few other additives in the mix.

Thank you, I've got a bag of pebbles here I can use, I like the idea of recycling them for use again, doing that a bag wil last for a good number of crops.

I've been recycling my coco for a couple of years now it's saving me around £20/30 per grow and its easy to do.

I buy the large bales @about $40 Cdn they last a long time mixed 50/50 perlite @$50 for a large 10kg bag. 2 grows with 6 plants with some left over. I haven't been recycling the balls either @$50/10kg bag although I should. I either need to recycle them this time or buy more...We're 12" deep in frozen snow, I've no place to do that indoors...fk it new balls it is...

Have you always mixed perlite and promix at the 50-50 or just for autopots

Just the auto pots but I was up to about 40% perlite before the Auto pots. In promix I was getting the compacting of the soil with just 30%. I had been adding about 15% to the mix that is supposed to have 17 -20% but I upped the percentage and that stopped the soil; from compacting but it made it a bitch to transplant out of. The lose soil falls apart real easy. I wouldn't do that with Auto's that can't handle any shock. I think I'll start them in a heavier mix then transplant into the 50/50 final auto pots
