Pretty sure it’s a monarch butterfly about to come out. You can sort of see the wing pattern at the bottom right.

oh. i get those every few years, i only see the caterpillars though. never looked for or saw a cocoon, pretty cool!!! they normally always eat the milkweed, thats where i see them.

Ya we let the milk weed grow in the garden 4 them.i think its the only thing they will lay there eggs on. The bees go crazy over it too.

When I was a boy I used wasp grubs for bait, trout love them, in more recent times when the water is colored I fish them with my fly rod it's some of the best sport going after a good downpour.

I dont even remember what seed it was..whenever I get ballsy enough to plant one where the wife can see it I've had a few whiskeys... and way to many bong rips

I'm de coloring a leaf atm I'm going to try staining it.

I don't have methanol or ethanol they're quicker than isopropyl but isopropyl is like the gentle approach, I'm working with small volumes they're easy saturated I need to change now it's emerald green!

I've got some funky stains and dyes to play around with oops!,I meant work with

I keep it, it's still useful just not for de coloring but for cleaning stains and sterilizing tools it's still got a use.

I'm going here I've ordered a couple of bits for my microscope camera twice only to find it's not right or it's not ideal... yeh I'm scunnered

On a more positive note I'm happy with the outcome of the counter staining + dark field for added contrast.


This only loosely resembles what I'm seeing, you should also see absolute clarity, contrast and without haze.
Fwiw it's our favorite fragrant herb but mum's the word on that, it's unofficial

I get Coho and Steelhead in our rivers too. A few miles north of Lake Ontario. Now that’s a trip to the ocean.

Moved the Thai pepper plant to a southern window. So far I’ve harvested 13 red peppers in the last few days it’s been inside.


Wife is supposed to look after it until spring. She’s just going to water. The soils already treated and should be labour free until December.

It's F1 weekend in my city so this is the week I see all kinds of crazy cars and people from all over the world.
Lots of rare and exotic supercars but yesterday I saw what I think was a Honda Beat!
No logo but on the back it read Design 56 and there was a Honda emblem on it.
I know...Honda, what's the big deal right?
This Honda was tiny AF Y'all!!! Like a Mazda Miata would be huge compared to this thing. It was damn near go-kart size and I've seen bigger golf carts. It woulda fit in the bed of my truck!! Might have to leave the tailgate down but still!

Plus it was right hand drive and convertible so the first thing I saw was a dude driving it from the passenger seat.
After some googling I think this might be the only car that can be imported from Japan as-is and it only costs $3000
