I dont know him very well, he is friends with one of my close buddies. I saw him in concert when he played with the transiberian orchestra and it was one hell of a show

I've always counted Jeff Beck as one of my guitar influences but I never got into the melodic side of him. Just never clicked for me. Technically a great player but could never really get deep into the melody. I was more a Jimmy Page/Eric Clapton sort of guy when it came to melody. Page definitely in terms of arrangements and production.

One of my newest guitar influences, he has just about influenced me to give my guitar to my kid officially and give up lmao dude plays in random tunings it blows my mind he can do it so effortlessly

The right hand/damping/picking control that kid has is crazy. Fret board work is really nice too.

I've seen some pretty talented kids that haven't taken a lesson in their lives. They learned it from Youtube......

There is like a whole wave of these fingers style neo classical players out there right now, Marcin from Poland is another one....him and ichika got a duo on YouTube that's excellent

That Marcin dude with his flamenco style craziness is awesome. I love how the new crew are using pull offs/taps and other unorthodox techniques to pull new sounds out of their guitars. Tom Morello has always been one of my favorite guitar players when it comes to creating sound landscapes.

There's a jewish deli in Hollywood called Canters that had an associated bar next door called The Kibbitz Room where every tuesday night they would have jam sessions. Morello would show up every once in a while. I got to play with him a few times in those setups. Him, Dave Grohl, Slash, Danny Carey.....

It's weird to think about how non chalant it was back then when you see how their bands took off.

@Rootsruler that's wild man! Cooler than cool.

Marcin blew my mind recently with a technique ya don't see much....I was listening and not watching then heard this funky ass low note...had to rewind and look. He essentially detuned his low E to a D or C note and tuned it back up....I know it's not something he created necessarily but never hear it put to good use.

How many years you been fiddling?

I was a late bloomer and didn't start playing until I was a teenager. 40+ years.

Yeah, I've seen him do that where he turns down the tuning key. That takes either a very very trained ear or he's a natural with pitch. To be able to detune and lock back in while you're actively playing is not easy.

Oops, I meant part 1. This shit is so dope. Reminds me of my teenage years doing acid and getting high out in the bush

I saw White Zombie in 94 and Rob stopped the show about halfway thru and said "I'm tired of seeing a mosh pit here, here, and there" as he points around the room "I wanna see this whole fucking place explode into one giant pit". He started back up and the entire place became the wildest pit I have ever seen.
