Love some chili with beans!

Just made some homemade Alfredo sauce, turned out amazing... Good AF

Melt some butter, make a roux, add cream slowly, then add 100% parmesan (no blend), salt and pepper

Simple and better tasting than any alfredo I've ever had at a restaurant, even the fancy schmancy ones

*Note, I only used half of the butter in the picture.

Four more in the freezer.

When I was a teen a few family members would still make their own meat sticks and/or jerky. Other than going to a butcher these are the best over the counter I’ve found. Not stupid hot. Not a ton of salt. Still 500g and no shrinkflashon.

On there own or in a bun. Two a day at lunch.

Thanks in advance for your ideas. THE best meat stick I ever hsd was in Japan. Deep fried wagu on a stick -- 20 USD, incredible. Lots of locals lined up to get at 'em.

I'm a sucker for products I see on the race cars each week.
So this week, I'm looking at all the paint schemes and Todd Gilliland's #38 car is sponsored by Boozy Jerky.
A google search and 10 minutes later....

Does he know about Benny's Meat Straws?

If not, he does now!
They're pretty much pepperoni sticks with a hole down the middle. Taste is really good especially after a soak in a bloody mary
When I make Bloody Marys, I garnish like crazy with bacon, a chilled hot wing, pickled okra, green olives, and celery. The meat straw just takes it to the next level 😋

sous vide a roast for 24 hours no sear...

:)
just learned what sous vide was a few weeks ago. I never got to try it when I was eating meat. I'm guessing it's much more tender?

looks good boss, now i do love a baked potato. it's crazy how simple and delicious a baked potato with some butter, cheese, salt, pepper is.
reminds me now that it's chilling up, it's soup time. i love some potato soup, i have an okay recipe, the highlights are sour cream, shallots, dill, and black/white pepper.

anyone got a potato soup recipe they think is killer?

sous vide ain't just for meat man,, but yes, extra long cooking times that don't exceed the finished temperature or overcook the meat makes it very tender and to just the right temperature.

but man sous vide makes the best veggies can be!!! sous vide mashed potatoes are so killer!!!!!!! it makes store bought carrots taste like garden fresh!!! soups, stews, stocks, and gravies can all be made sous vide. even freakin cheesecake man!!!! Bandit has a killer recipe for that -> https://budbuilders.org/threads/true-confessions-of-an-american-outlaw.86/post-63341

but seriously no joke man the mashed potatoes are so good.. and easy too!! i don't even dirty a single bowl to make them!! :D

My wife makes a great potato soup. It rarely lasts more than a day.

Mashed potatoes was my all time go to. My grandmother would get a large corn pot and fill it with potatoes.

Me and my brother in law would load up and race for second and thirds. With a huge well in the middle full of home made gravy. Ah to be in my 20’s again.

recipe.... please!!!
I’ll try. Might have to wait until she’s feeling better. She’s a few days behind me being sick. I just passed the painful limbs stage, she just started. Foods not even on her radar. Only time she doesn’t drink coffee is when she’s sick bad.

She did tell me once that if I want to make a quick cheater version when she’s away at my daughters to use a good brand of chunky style soup as a helper base but that’s I’ll I remember. (I think I replied; couldn’t you make a pot before you leave? 🫣)

Her and son are the foodies. I’m the repairman. 👨‍🔧🤣

View attachment 75737A local fav, it's called a "fat boy" - you get two toppings, this has spinach and fresh garlic

best thing about them is the dough is minimal, so you just get mounds of gooey mozzarella...

been thinking about this stromboli all week... finally picked up some goodies and made one tonight..

chicken, spinach, and mushroom...
