I did ribs too!
Kinda ;giggle

IDK if you've seen this or not but one of the new trends in BBQ is corn ribs. I took a shot at 'em tonight and it gave me an excuse to use the same bottle brush I sent ya...

IMG_1581[1].jpeg

It take a kitchen knife with an extremely keen edge on it to make these happen but here they are after cutting and dressing

Also made grilled and blackened szechuan chicken tenderloins. Cooked everything with hickory

i've tried them... they're ok once in while. to me it's kinda like having corn but not making it perfect, a little dry to me... but i could have overcooled them, not sure.

Brought home some stuff from a peach festival and made a meal of it. Not sure exactly what I did here but if there's not a recipe for smoked peach and salmon chipotle cobbler then there is now.
I also made some bell peppers stuffed with feta, garlic, chopped green olives, red onion, and mushrooms

why do all the things i can't eat look so freakin good?!?!!

my sad lunch today looked like a poster child for prison food. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Blueberry flapjacks is a funny craving for me. I only get it in the Summer and usually around the 4th. It's a once a year treat and some years I skip it but when I do get that craving, it's something only I can make. Can't get it at a diner and certainly not Ihop, WH, or Dennys.
I load the batter up with a ridiculous amount of blueberries. So much some swell and burst into jelly inside.
I was good though...plant based butter, real maple syrup, real fruit. IDK what's in the Dolly Parton pancake mix and TBH I don't care. It's Dolly Fucking Parton pancake mix!!! YOLO!!

Today I also did a couple Mexican style stewed BBQ chicken pots for tacos. Cheated of course, gringo style because I aint diggin' no hole to bbq some chicken!
Made a roja and verde and being a sick and twisted fuck of a lefty, made them backwards so the red is mild and the green is en fuego.

Years ago the wife and I tried one of these. It was surprisingly good. Was only able to find it one other time before the fad disappeared. For a while it was on a few restaurants menus.

Do you have fairs and carnivals in Canada like the state and county fairs in the US?
Fairs are where to find any and everything deep fried. Not much I haven't tried up at the Texas State Fair but yeah all types of fried candy bars, fried oreos, Twinkies, bubblegum, ice cream, PB&J sandos, and more.
Fried Oreos and Twinkies are the two I've seen break out of the fair scene and find their ways into restaurants and food trucks.

We do, or did until a few years ago. Not as many in the city any more. To many liability issues.

An hours drive or more will usually get you to some town with a carnival going on over the summer. The CNE, Canadian National Exhibition, still has plenty of deep fry stands. But way to big of a crowd for me these days. I don’t take well to being bumped every minute or two. But small towns are cool.

We had to stop buying deep fryers. We used them so much they’d melt. I did a LOT of fishing. Plus deep fried veggies and mushrooms. So when the last one melted I pointed out that we could use the opportunity to loose weight. 🤣

Might be a good excuse for a family road trip this summer. 🤔

That's Bill's gold-digging girlfriend, who is like 50 years younger, posting that pic...........and Bill doesn't look too happy! I'm guessing when she told him they were having lobster, he was expecting something way different.

Wonder if they still have that rickety old roller coaster going.
