Rearranging things. Getting away from the decorative jars and going back to 1L mason jars. Easier to store. I just need to stop giving them to people, they NEVER return them.


Still burping the Strawberry Lemonade.

Gen2 is doing good. Moved the suspected HB male to the main floor. Maybe I will make a few seeds. Be nice to do it intentionally for a change.


Jilly Bean rear left, Haunted Banana rear right and Strawberry Lemonade front and centre. Leaving them all in one gallon pots this go. Three gallon is my usual flower size.

The strawberry lemonade has really dense roots. Always poking out the sides and bottom of the pot.

Just chilling. Temps are okay RH will do what it does.

I never know what leaves to cut and which to leave. I usually end up lolly popping and try to leave the uppers alone. Remove from the middle. Guess which branches won’t amount to much. The usual I guess.



Forgot about my little outdoor girl. I use the basement door 95% of the time so don’t see her.


Don’t think she’s going to get to grow up.


At least the SL is curing okay.

Trim day. Strawberry Lemonade has been hanging 12 days at mostly 65-74% humidity and 72F. Fans did their job though. No issues and we had our small branch crack this morning. Buds have been tight and firm.

Once I clean the trim bin and get set I’ll take some pics.

An official trim bin and everything, I've looked at them but I just can't justify the cost. I'm cheap and $87+ gov = too much for my cheapness

Watch out on Amazon. I find they Jack up prices on some searches. Even got different results on different phones/computers.

I got mine local on sale a few years ago when I started. Got talked into a few things I could have skipped or gotten cheaper.

This is the current price at my remaining local store.


They also have trimmers on sale but it’s a nice to have rather than a must have, for me anyway.


Grow bags are the same or more than what I would pay for a 1L jar.

They are up to $12 for the 1lbs bags.

I have the trim bin. Good stuff.
Bought at a brick and mortar store in Mass. $65 I think a couple years ago.
I got a 13 inch spinner for $59 plus tax [ $65 ] in July but it is $99 now~! Growtent garden trimmer.
I use and like my jars. Probably have over 25 of the big ones that can hold 3 oz easy. They were $5 when I got them.
Got 4 'pickle jars' that hold 1 gallon I really like also. They were like $12 each.
When curing I just store them in the boxes they came in.

20241005: Day 7F W1

Finished jarring JB & PD to get things cleaned up and ready for Thanksgiving.

Both plants were slightly damp at the cola tips, JB less so but she doesn’t have the same tight hard buds. More like an open tiny pine cone.

Purple Diesel

PD = 211g
JB = 139g

Both have a sweet candy flowery aroma. Even a nice after taste. Just need the cure to lose the green taste. Not that heavy dank smell like my strain.

Lots of cleaning and rearranging things for the wife’s family visit. I just want to find a dark room and sleep, for a week.

That was bent past 90* but just recently tried to straighten.

Forgot about the male HB upstairs. Haven’t looked at it since Thursday. Life got busy. Took a quick peek last night but it was to dark to see much. I’m betting the flowers are opening and pollen is dropping. Need to check it later today. Decide what I’m doing with it.

Trying to dry out about 25 Boveda packs. Had to say if it’s working after a day. Plus it’s still 65% RH in the house. I’ll leave them a few more days. Most of the latest jars have fresh packs.

i use a little bit off fencing wire bud bend it nearly but not quite 90 deg and tap it to where you have cropped it.you can use a stake too after doing that so the branch has some support for the weight..I got some pics somewhere in my diary if you want to try it.

That's far too many jars of weed to have kicking around. You obviously don't smoke enough. I may just have to get my ass up to your neck of the woods next year to help you mow through a few of those jars. I think I could talk my wife into a long days drive....the cats I'm not sure of, they don't like vacations. The last time I drove up there with a cat she started sleeping in the litter box. Poor thing hated it.

You’re welcome any time brother. Just give me a few days notice to prepare a proper welcome.

Still trying to hook up with one buddy again to give him a few. He moved to Hamilton so it’s been hard to connect with his schedule.

A few will be gone this Thanksgiving when another buddy joins us. He wasn’t able to make it on labour day.

A bit more will be mailed to a friend. Never done that before so we’ll see how that goes.

We’ll keep an eye open for you in case you pop by.

BTW I still have a few green bags for Qnight if that helps. Better than napping in the litter box.

20241009: Day 11F W2

Starting to bud out.

HB is rear right.
SL is up front.
JB is rear left.

Temps are good but it’s gotten cold the last two days. Humidity is better. But still around 60RH.

20241013: Day 15F W3



HB is the bushiest and healthiest. SL is the sparse one up front.
JB is rear left doing her thing.

Still burping 15 jars once a day for about 10 minutes. Love the new aromas. No clashing.

The hash has a strong diesel smell now. Guessing Purple Diesel is a large contributor.

Picked up 20 Integra Boost packs yesterday and more ProCal. Only $14 compared to the $30 for Cal-Mag.

Just the Cayenne and Thai peppers left in the garden. Waiting for the last to turn red. Can’t believe how many each produced.

Wifey found my favourite pepperoni sticks on sale, $5 rather than $12! I suspect shrinkflashon is coming and they are clearing the shelf. 12 packs will last a few weeks.

Thanksgiving has us tired, busy, but in good spirits. One more night then cleanup and rest.

Jilly Bean & Haunted Banana are doing good. Strawberry Lemonade is stringy again but doesn’t need yo-yos yet. I’ll give them a trim on the weekend.

Cold this morning at 5* high is only going to be 9*. Cleaned vents and replaced the filter. Testing the furnace before real cold sets in. North had some freezing rain/snow.

Gave away 10oz over the holiday. With a few more going to another buddy by EOM. Unfortunately we are all a few hours away from each other these days. Makes it harder to visit the older we get.

Sending out a few Christmas cards with holiday cheer this week.


Now I need to think of a cheaper way to mail weed.

More cleaning and getting ready for winter. Close to zero at night but anywhere from 10* to 20* during the day.

The snow/frost cover seems to work. It’s still alive anyway.


Little guy was trying to warm up so I left him in the sun.

The Haunted Banana male is getting close so I chopped off every branch and flower except for the main cola. I figure when it’s ready I’ll use it to brush on a lower or two outside the tent.

This weekend will be the end of week three when I trim the females anyway. Be nice if I could do it then.

Smells are stronger this round but blending. A new one is dirty diaper or Willows hidden a present in the grow room somewhere.

I’ve had the flue the last few days. Really hit me hard the first couple.

But I remembered to go check the remaining male yesterday. It wasn’t quite ready yet. I went to move it and put a garbage bag under it when I noticed a few had opened. Pollen is ready.

Now I need to move the female to another room and cut off the top of the male to brush on the selected lower branches.


I didn’t want pollen everywhere so took off all the other branches a week or two back.

Problem now is getting it done in a timely fashion. I’m weak and sore. Feeding is already a challenge. It’s just on day 24 so timing is perfect. Figures.

Took a bunch off on the weekend but letting them rest so I can do more this weekend. I tried to remove all inward facing ones, small too, until nearing the top.

HB I want to pollinate. Tomorrow if I’m lucky and not too sick. Get my son to do the lifting.

I’ll probably trim her up again since she’ll be out and easy to get to. Only day 24 so not overly late.

20241023: Day 25F W4



Cut the flower branch off the male and rubbed it all over three lower branches. Then put a plastic bag over them until tomorrow lights on. Sprayed a mist of water around the rest of the area just in case. Will do it again once the bags are off. Thanks for the advice @GoodShit97

HB still needs a better trim. Just to wiped to attempt tonight.


SL I moved to the back corner. Used some soft wire to pull the limbs together. It’s growing like a tomato plant but healthy and frosty.


JB is the only one growing straight and not leaning.

Your pollination is a little late but will still probably take. It's best to hit them when female flowers look like cotton balls.
I have some males here I can show you some tricks on how to pollinate and even collect pollen for storage to hit a female later without having a male plant if you want.
I also prefer best flower to hit best flower and only harvest seeds from the best overall seeded flower but this is something you'll learn in time the more you do it and see where the best seeds/genetics will come from off a plant when breeding.
The baggies are not needed and can cause some high humidity micro climates around the buds and cause them to mold.

If you're trying to make sure the pollen doesn't spread, use a 2 or 3 liter plastic bottle with the bottom cut off.
Slide the male flower into the bottle so it's pretty much inside a dome. With the male in there, slide the bottle over a female flower and give it a little shake. The pollen will become airborne and pollinate the female.
Another way to do it is cut the male flower and put it in a vase sitting on top of a sheet of paper. Let the flowers open and pollen fall out onto the paper. Collect the pollen in a vial then use a small paint brush to "paint" pollen onto the female pistils.

If this works out I’ll save them and maybe see if I can do it again. See if I can get to a F5 or better one day. She looks great so far. I have high hopes. (You see what I did there?)

20241026: Day 28F W4


All are looking good. Feeding in a few minutes.


Pollinated branches are looking okay, not that I know what I’m looking for other than the dark pistils.

I was hoping to have two female HB so when I got two males and one female I decided to bush it out a bit and try to get some weight while pollinating the lowest branches. Sort of a cake and eat it too thing.


She does look nice.


Notice one or two dark hairs in other places like this top bud… Hoping it’s just where I bumped it or something but more likely I’ll have a few extra seeds t look for.

I’ve run into a problem with my little outdoor plant. It’s too low to the ground for me to see closely and if I cut off a bit to check it would be 1/3 of the harvest.


I’ll give it to end of month I guess.
