CannaGranny’s Corner a Thread For General BS and Good Will On BudBuilders

What do you use to protect the tent floor from the feet going through?

Over the years we tried different sleeping arrangements. Just sleeping bags, yoga mats under, foam pads, cots, they all have plus or minuses. Another factor was if we off-roaded into the site or hiked in. We even followed old train track beds to dead/abandoned stops/towns to setup camp. Cool in the day. Creepy and spooky at night. No one let the camp fire die those trips. Lol
We have the little rug in the middle for our feet, then a tarp under the tent to protect the tent and a little buffer from the dew.

We were right under an oak tree, must have been thousands of acorns around! So funny whenever the wind blew they would drop and hit our tent like hail 😂 😂

With the cots you are so comfortable, no mat needed, a sleeping bag if it's cold or just a sheet in the summer

I haven’t been able to use cots since I was 16. Shot up to 6’-6”. My uncle was a war collector and would give me old stuff he no longer needed like army cots and army back packs, canteen, flashlights, etc.

We always had a tarp under the tent. Rarely dug a trench around them. Just learned to pick better spots. Lol

I’m old and a little rickety, I used to camp a lot but I think now I am more into glamping.
My lady and I have been looking at trailers and a new truck to haul it.

We are looking forward to traveling the countryside but we want a lot of cushion beneath our keesters!

Yeah we're getting up there now too lol

We really like the idea of a sprinter van decked out for camping or the small tear drop campers

How's the dryer working out @Tremojem ?
You look like you have a lot of room in there.

Granny I was smoking Captain Redbeard's Oregon Grapes this a.m. [like 6a.m.] and had good old head rush~!;roc
Now mixing the OG with Zamal dreams for the wide awake head rush~! ;budi
Cool mornings and warm days for next couple weeks hopefully, best time of year here in upstate.

Hey, Steamroller, its doing well. I am down to 72 degrees Fahrenheit and continuing to reduce the humidity by 1% each day, until I reach 60%, then they go into Grove Bags. It is actually on track for a 3 week dry in a 60 degrees Fahrenheit environment.

The Lotus Dry with the golf ball sized buds, is complete, after a little over a week...in the regular fridge. They are in Grove Bags now. They need to cure now.

Nice high with CRBs stash, huh. Good on you both. I'll update on buds soon.

I was a little premature on the Lotus Drying Method. They are back in bags in fridge. After inspecting this morning, they need another few days. Ugghh...

He better watch out!

Beautiful up in northern VA as well today

I have to say, here in California, even as far back as the mid 70s, smoking weed wasn‘t as bad as that ^^^

I imagine the 60s may have been a different story, but I used to hit my bong while I was driving and all I had was a Datsun pickup (no curtains).

I was thinking just the other day (odd and rare, but I was), how easy it is to walk down the street with a dry herb vaporizer. That would certainly have blown my mind!

Hey, what are your thoughts on harvest predictions based off of the pistols "alone". I will share trichomes information after I get the your opinions. Strain is unknown and most definitely Sativa or Sativa leaning. I will say this...I learn something new every grow, lol.

I’m thinking, based upon what I believe my plants have left, that 3 weeks ok, 4 weeks good, 5 weeks superstar!

Going to be chunky and dense. Fantastic for a heavy sativa! Beautiful 🥰

Thanks for the nice words. I was always led to believe that pistols turn color and also turn in on themselves or hug the calyx and not pray to the Sun, when harvest is ready. This along with trichomes color, is the information I use to determine harvest readiness.

Here is the rub on this plant. The pistils are not darkened to the extent I would imagine they should be, at this point in the grow. The trichomes are as follows...

Clear = 10 - 20 percent of total
Cloudy = 60 - 70 percent of total
Amber = 5 - 10 percent of total

So...I kinda think that its odd that the trichomes are ahead of the pistils. I am still a newbie and learning and understanding variations of cultivars and the unlimited variables that impact the final product, so this is why I said in the original post, that I am always learning something new.

So, thanks again and feel free to share your thoughts on my comments about the harvest readiness indicators etc.

I will now check this plant daily for signs its time to cut, and keep in mind that its not all a simple little box of rules that apply to all things...lol.
