He’s waiting for them to be higher so the net squishes them down. He’s following CG’s method.

it was heavy blue and white with only half the amount of red.

just today i bumped the red up to a pre flower spectrum. so right now starting today reds and whites are up and blue down half. i'll drop that blue down to just 40% once we see pistils.

most of the wattage of these lights come from the red diodes so just that spectrum change also increased the ppfd.

yes this could be a concern. one thing i have gong for me is those lights.. CLW uses Osram diodes, the best in the biz when it comes to penetration!!!

nothing is really stretching bad or growing slow so i'm gonna keep the course.. believe me man i never intended to grow them like this, they did it all on their own!!

this whole time i could have been defol mode but honestly, it took me a year of looking at sad dead seedlings over and over so if these plants wanna grow leaves i'm gonna let them!!!!!!!!!

it feels damn good being able to grow them after all this so i'm not trimming anything until i absolutely have to.

i agree, i could. but for this first time ever using a screen and net i asked Granny for her guidance and want to go by her book and just like Zen said, we're waiting for at least six inches taller than the screen to squash and put pressure on the tops. it's that same time when i'll lollipop the bottoms out.. some of the lower branches might not even make the screen and will most likely get trimmed off.

it won't be much longer though man... i'm really hoping for next weekend. and a few friends here have also recently flipped or just getting ready to as well so it will be cool to flower out with close to the same timing.

and the seeds for my next round of soil are getting dropped this weekend!!! all kinds of fun stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would say give them a nice trim before the screen goes down. It'll be a bitch to get to the back part of those suckers once they get the smash and mesh with the screen.

Or wait for the screen and strip everything below it.

I just have hermie PTSD and it would suck to try and pluck anything in the back without a clear path.

for sure man. i plan to set a bucket with solution on a short swivel table and park a comphy ass chair right in front of it and go to town!!!

i need to make an imaginary line around them to have a trim line to go by. you know how that is once ya get rolling with scissors its easy to go to far!! my general rule of thumb with all living plants is never prune more than 40% of the plant, so i have a feeling i'm gonna be close to that and want to have a guide to go by.. maybe pick up some of that spray snow stuff and spray all the stuff i wanna get rid of!!! hahaha

something else i need to drop back on is my auto top off. it was working perfect with a small amount of top off solution but now that i've filled the barrel is creates a little too much pressure and even after the pump shuts off the line continues to siphon into the rez. the one night i caught it with like 1/8" of room before it would have overflowed!!! all the roots got washed that night!!!! hehehe

so i need to make a vacuum break in the line, after messing with it for a few minutes i think i can get away pretty ez with an eight or ten inch piece of bigger tubbing to let air past the liquid.

for now i'm just running it only when i'm right there.

man i have long said i want some homing pigeons.. send buds and doob's back n forth from all over!!!!!! that would be so much fun!!!

i cut a couple lower branches off that were never going to reach the screen so that opened the bottoms up a little.. helped with my RH a bunch!!!

He'll grow it 6 inches passed the screen and then just smash 'em down.

Granny's SCROG method.

Smash and flip and all the shoots should come up through stretch for a nice full and even canopy. She does not tuck to my knowledge.

@CannaGranny also FIMs a week before she does the smash/flip, I believe.

I had the bungee net in my little Gorilla 2X4. I sorta liked it, except where it pulled away from the tent walls. Didn't let me use all of the space like I wanted to. I think smaller squares might have been handy for spacing buds out. I had 2-3 in the same square, in a few places. I'm curious about the polypropylene stuff. I've seen others using it and it looks like something I might want to try, unless someone tells me something bad about it that I'm missing.

Something like the trellis clips at the 9:50 mark in this video might be handy. There might be better options. I've only started thinking about it.

That's the netting my buddy uses in their commercial rooms. Not sure if they use it because they like it or because it's cheap...

luckily mine are fairly even so it makes it easy for me to go with an average above.. but i think a perfect world would be not till the lowest branches reach the bottom of the screen. (i think)

@CannaGranny , i'm flipping and lowering the cage next weekend. i assume i shouldn't FIM mine? i mean what would i even fim.. there's so many tops... as you know i didn't start these for the perfect scrog, they were shoved in place!!! just working with what i got right now..

I’m not too staunch on the Fimming, I do mine as it turns one cola into three.
Im having probs with my video, but, yes, lollipop them, drop your screen atop of them. Push every branch below the table. Don’t weave them in and out of the screen, makes for a nightmare when it’s time to come off.

If it stretches it’s for sure not a scrog. But, I see you know that so carry on! I do trellis my scrog tho. Once my buds hit 9” tall, I trellis.

I've seen more than one comment about it being cheap.so, no big loss if you have to cut it out. I've also seen a few comments about it not leaving fibers stuck to your buds like some of the nylon nets 🤷‍♂️

I used the big 6” square one to hold my outdoor grow together. Part trellis part SCROG. Worked great even in high winds and storms. Plant moved like a single unit.

i understand, i might get frisky later and try a few to see. it's been many moons since i fim'd a plant. be cool to watch a few branches for future thoughts..

no worries at all. i've watched your others and i have kinda an idea what i need to do. my real only concern at this point is getting all the branches horizontal. i'm picturing me lowering the screen and all the tops just pop through. i assume i need to sweep them out in each direction as the screen falls to keep them horizontal?

i understand, so how long do i continue to keep pushing the branches under? like how do i know when to let the plant go vertical again?
