So I just wanted to let you all know that Katsu seeds (shop) claims to have found the real RKS skunk with grow reports of the real thing with claims you can smell it in the driveway from an inside grow with double carbon filters. They are out of stock and sold out in minutes.

I just heard all claims of '79 or '81 skunk are scams/fakes.

I've got some '79skunk seeds here and so does @MDK, we plan to run them together and see who gets the best pheno lol.

They’re talking about Authentic Genetics if I’m not mistaken. His Skunk number one is not skunky at all. He should call it sweet number one. It’s still good just not skunk.

I remember Katsu from another forum no longer online when he was starting out. His cuts were legit heirloom skunk strains and kinda went under the radar at a time when folks were into the latest trendy craze.

They were A typical Mendo grown skunk sativa trees similar to this but grown in Oregon





IDK about those in the links but I remember him working with old school skunks acquired from Norcal and Southern Oregon growers who had been in the game for decades and were pretty much legends.
I'd rank him right there with Irie and Bodhi as far as breeders who I hold in high regard.

This could be a different Katsu though. I don't remember him doing fems or having such a huge catalog of strains but then again the last I saw of his work was 2016 so maybe things have changed and that was early in his career.

The lady at the seed bank said the dude is a little autistic and thinks his super power might be breeding. I havnt ran any of it yet but my buddy is doing his gorila road kill right now.

I visited my stoner cousins in Miami in 83 and nobody had ever heard of Skunk or believed me when I told the about indoor growing in Oregon. They all thought I was full of shit..... Where was the Florida skunk? It damn sure wasn't Little Havana.

79 1981 Skunk "Roadkill" was there, even in Texas as I opened my back door, blew out the 1st. hit and my girlfriend suddenly said, I smell a Skunk,Ha. I shut the door. SS I am growing Super Skunk currently, can't remember the seed distributer.

Man I didn’t realize this is a twelve week cultivar. I was planning on running it outside this summer in the greenhouse but I can’t make it twelve weeks. I’ll have to grow inside I guess. I dislike growing inside during the summer because of gnats and bugs finding their way in.

I have a bunch of Indicas and one haze growing inside right now and they are in flower so I’ll have to start these in the smaller tent and move over when I can. I’m exited to grow this. I hope it stinks so bad my wife will bring it up. Time will tell.

Just an update on these seedlings. These are the Katsu 79’ Florida skunk. So these seem like the genetics are not super strong at the seedling stage. They may have even stunted, not sure. They just didn’t shoot up string like a new F1, more like a very old strain that may have been cloned a million times. It for as shitty as these look,….they stink. Yes even at this stage these things have a very strong odor, funky and dank. It has given me some hope!!! Maybe these will really stink at the flowering stage. I will keep everyone updated.

Also these are the seeds I’m starting for the greenhouse summer grow. I start with a lot. It have to weed out males and will only end up with ten or so. I have chit ton of skunk seeds of all different varieties to try to find true skunk strain/pheno. This year I am running three varieties of this “Skunk Really Works” dudes genetics and some good ok northern lights from AG seeds. Has anyone ran this “skunk really works” genetics? I have no idea what to expect. I just love the strains he chose to use. We’ll see! And I’ll update if I find anything skunky.

I have it in both feminized and regulars. I have 3 gorilla roadkill fems growing right now. I grew it for the first time a year ago. I didn't find it to have the deep funk of an heirloom skunk. Mine from last year was very strong but with more of a earthy floral taste.

I grew peach skunk fems last year too. I also have packs of "cocaine bear regs" and Hollywood Skunk regs. The "Skunk Really Works" is his marketing slogan. Older packs look like the packs in the picture below.

Yes, although I preferred the roadkill over the peach skunk. I haven't had tests performed on those strains but mine was likely mid to upper 20's in thc content. It's on the hard hitting side of things.
