CannaGranny’s Corner a Thread For General BS and Good Will On BudBuilders

Ive spent just over 600 dollars in heat for the season so far, I really cant even complain, this new pellet stove is the best purchase ive made lol

thinking on getting a small one this summer to supplement with on frigid days. this was our coldest winter a very long time. and our most expensive.

Yeah the 3 weeks of straight below 0 weather was brutal and my stove didnt shut off but it still did well, 24-40hrs on 1 bag depending on temp.
I highly recommend them, I just wish they were quieter sometimes, and this ones pretty damn quiet lol

where i plan to put it noise would be absolutely no issue at all, i'd probably even put an extra fan in that hallway too we'd never hear it.

what was the brand of your new one again?

It's a comfortbilt hp22, I got it on sale like 40%, or i wouldve bought a smaller one lol.

i'd be in the exact same situation, i'm aiming for a smaller one but if a "can't pass up deal" hits i'll go any size. i'm not afraid to buy used either. i've repaired enough pellet stoves over the years that even buying a broken one is not off the table for me if it's a good deal!!

it's either pellet or just a plain wood stove or kero.. a wood stove would be my cheapest route, i already own one and a chimney is already in place from an old one years ago. the downside is the PITA of gathering/cutting/storing wood. but mostly free aside from some chainsaw fuel and upkeep.

kero is next cheapest, still gotta buy the stove and fuel and semi PITA carrying cans and pouring/smell.

pellet stove is third cheapest. gotta buy the stove and pellets, not much PITA except cleaning, but option 1 woodstove would require cleaning as well so a wash there IMO. pellets would be delivered so storage and fill is not pita for me. this is easiest of all three for me.

propane and electric are off the table due to the cost versus reward in my situation.

so right now i'm leaning pellets... well personally i'm leaning wood stove but my woman doesn't want me doing that much work. the more firewood i do the less time we have together so she is pushing hard for pellets. sooo it will most likely be pellet. plus i kinda always wanted to build my own pellet maker!!! hehehe

we'll see... but thanks i will for sure check out that brand in my shopping..

If i had the option to have a wood stove I would but where im at now I can not.
When I move im putting a woodstove and my pellet stove in the new place, wood will be for extra cold nights and power outages

thats a really great point on the power outages.. i have those often and that is the only reason that electric backup is out because i can't power it via geny. a stove is cheaper than a bigger geny.

my neighbor has one of those outdoor woodstoves.. man those things are the tits!!!!

Steamroller might be having some computer issues...

today i picked up a box of pop tarts thinking of him!!! ;budi

Just sick.
This rarely happens to me but seems like the second time just this year.
Really feel pretty shitty. Haven't eaten in 2 days.

Man i just went to doctor today after having zero appetite and a bad fever for over a week, usually i can fight these things on my own. Was getting up to 102f temp at night. Hopefully the antibiotics kick it

Getting old ..

Got a lot of chores inside and out done over the weekend. Tents are all setup and ready to flip when the plants are good. Thinking middle of April now.

20*c today, 15* tomorrow and then single digits. Winters still trying to hang on.

Back and knees are killing me but I’m glad it’s done and out of the way.

We had our first joints of the year on the front bench this weekend too. Nice change. IMG_9419.jpeg79633699049__E023FCE0-4AE1-4FB6-9EDD-5D5268A329CB.jpeg

Hope you all had a good if not productive weekend people’s. Enjoy your day. 👊

I am right there with you minus the Dr. and antibiotics.
2 slices of toast and 1 hamburger since Thursday [included].
Pretty wiped out and feeling a little better but not much.
Was 102+ on Saturday, just over 100 today but still incapable of doing much.
Been dosing on Theraflu/Dayquil and Tylenol.
Hopefully if it doesn't cure me, it will kill me soon.
I hope you are getting better man.

We just paid a 5 week $703.00 bill at $1.92/ liter x 4.6 = $8.83/Gal for a 160oz gallon your gals are 128oz a bit of math makes them = at $6.73/ gal Canadian now...fkin yikes is right.

this was the most i ever paid for heating oil.. seems i said that a couple times now!! we're gonna add a supplement heat source this summer to help with the increase.

wood or pellet are the current front runners..
