Just got back from a little vacation. Things don't seem too worst for wear. Day 47 here and these are a couple phenos of lemon fire Runtz from relentless which Is lemon fire OG x Runtz...all 5 look incredible and I'm gonna have to keep all of them till the smoke test.

Lemon Fire Runtz #2 day 49...gonna start cake or tps signal tomorrow....not sure which one yet. I've used signal before and it's dope kinda want to give cake a shot. This is gonna be the one I end up keeping probably. Unless one of the other 4 have some crazy terps. 
I've seen that as well! Really just depends on the plant and where I'm at... But when they are young I try to just bend them over with a clip. I will top if I want other plants to catch up to even out a canopy...And I usually take clones from the top, wait a few days then flip. But 12 2 gallons in a 4x4 fit easily with topping. If you didn't I imagine you could fit 16.
When you too top late you do end up with some uneven branches that you eventually have to chop. And you get those huge main colas when you don't top obviously so I understand the appeal. If plant count isn't an issue, I think that's prob the way. But if your limited, you gotta fill out your canopy somehow. Really depends on what your trying to accomplish. You will prob yield more topping, but you will get bigger bud maybe if you don't? I'm just theorizing.
Id say the no topping or training is for like facilities, I feel like you have to train in a smaller home grow.

Here the end of day 1 and Emerson effect in action...no purple or red stems or petioles...all green. I guarantee they will all be praying hard in the morning. Only way I can upload videos no matter the size or file type is if I post on IG, then download, then upload here. Idk what I'm doing wrong lol I've tried every file type and size it always says video to large unless I do it this way. All good tho not a big deal haha.

Grape mfing gas....she about ready but I'm just gonna take her with the rest at 63 days which is 10 days from now....starting to purple up i dropped temps this week and started flushing with tps cal mag and signal...and grease yellow and gold label...run off ec is still kinda high gonna be hard to get it down before chop with drought stress im also doing......gonna have to double the water volume each watering i guess....watering every other day now...only have like 4 waterings left before chop....might go 66 days instead of 63 depending on the water content of the coco on day 63....
Next run i will def do a couple flushes throughout flower to help with the burn on the leaves. I'm assuming that's what's happening....this one looks ok but there are a few that look pretty bad...I'm pretty sure they got locked out somehow and i never did anything about it lol....

I start my flower fert cycle a little before I flip so I can end early enough to have 2-3 weeks just water and get all three parts dosed 2-3 times each.

My next flowering when I'm dropping e.c before harvest I'd like to test alkalinity and acidity affects on the "smoke profile"
So "flush" with 10.0 distilled water on one, and the next 5.5 or so.

Lemon Fire Runtz #2 is gonna be the one I keep most likely....sweet lemon pinesol terps on these...the best pack of seeds ive popped...haven't really popped too many seeds but this has been the best quality pack overall. This is one of the cooler ones I've found from the small amount of seeds I've ran......plant structure vigor bud structure all checks. Terps and yield seem to be there so we will see! Day 55 here...gonna take her at 63 most likely hopefully she's done. 
In love with #2 she just makes you look at her when you open the tent....the lowers look like tops and I've never grown one with this bud structure before...and she's turning purple...dropped temps and started finishing 1 week ago....1 week left exactly. Day 56... 
Getting closer...just a couple days left and it couldn't come soon enough bc I didn't save enough bud from my last harvest so I had to BUY SOME YESTERDAY....first time in over a year I've paid for weed since I started growing last year.

I'm actually going to be pollinating a few branches of a couple of these cuts to make my own seeds for the first time...(On purpose hahahaha)
