Gh cal mag says normal dose is a teaspoon per gallon. Heavy dose 2 teaspoons per gallon..
A teaspoon=5 ml
2 teaspoons=10 ml per gallon

So imo 30 ml for 8 gallons is little low going by GH reccomendations..
Cal mag deficiency ive seen usually affects newest growth first..
Growth rate slows, rust spots, etc...
Maybe a more experienced hydro grower will chime in?
Id bump it up to at least 5ml per gallon and watch newest growth..
Hopefully u get it straightened out man..
👊✌️
No you are right, I realized this after posting and rereading the labels.. lol
Bumping up to 60ml, then peak at 80 in another two weeks before coming back down

First time I've needed calmag, and I'm trying to lean on the light feed side to everything. It could be worse considering how long I've been skimping on the calmag. This explains a lot of what I've been seeing in the readings. Almost immediately after res change the ec drops as if one nutrient were being rapidly absorbed by a hungry plant

Ty for your time and insight

Another oversight I realized yesterday was that I haven't been using any bloom.. just added some yesterday and
Surprised I don't have more defencies than I do lol
Was used to different nutes and schedule

Oh geez rick.. stoner oversight, humble acceptance of noob status, just so thankful they are still both healthy.
Should recover very fast. Maybe I should give them one more week before flip to ensure they are all set for go

I don't think I can wait another week to flip, I'm already going to be really pushing it i think once she stretches. Planning on this Sunday, anyone think I should wait?

I got spider farmer UV and IR lights in the mail yesterday. Using IR per mfg time recommendations. UV isn't on yet.1739543677062.jpgPXL_20250214_000516551~2.jpg

Looks good to me, too much longer and you can get tight to the light, Shes a beauty
oh she be flippin this weekend 100%!!!! man i'm feeling good af! lol
nice romantic dinner w/ the wife, drank a whole bottle of wine, and finished a run in the storz/bikl plenty flower vape

plant update:
i got a heavy drip of calmag going in now as top off, and they are looking good af! well, at least in imo.
Left Plant (banana blaze : dutch passion) has a lack of green, but after correcting nutes (calmag and bloom) i'm very confident she can keep up with the old bitty.
maybe 3 leaves on the mature still affected, but plant's health af, and healthy roots have already reached my epicenter!
(going to upgrade total volume next run, this was the first run in this setup) i'm at 8 gal total now, i want to upgrade the plant sites to big low height containers next run)

1739593415092.jpeg

new spider farmer supp lights
ir30 (730 nm) (updated time to 15 minutes of before and after lights on/off time (example lights on= 6am, IR =5:45-6:15), 60 min total/day)(schedule 3 days in)
uv60 (365 nm) (not activated yet, waiting for plug adapter to fit my power strip)
hell of a deal for the set for $90 shipped, next day
1739593447852.jpeg

picture below notes:
epicenter

look at this sneaky mofo! like a sock trying to get away, this is a root from the mature plant on the right (don't call her an old b', call her mature) trying to sneak its way out of the crib

i wasn't ready for a healthy system, given my past, now using RODI i just can't believe the ease of healthy root systems eliminating tap water... So yes, next run I will be upgrading the total volume tremendously...
i imagine this will look like some alien shit by the end of the run, the root is already at the recirc pump... oh geez (morty voice)
1739593079472.jpeg
new supp lights (ready for the far red (2/3 slots used in bracket)... but idk yet, and the official site is sold out of far red)
1739594074452.jpeg

cheapest ph controller in history maybe, i think $50-100, i can't remember if this was the discount one or not

they don't have this on amazon anymore, but eventually i'll have to get one of them fancy blue ones i guess

ph calibrated and accurate to the 0.01, upgraded the sensor with a Apera ph probe
EC 0.978 , tolerance of 0.05 even after calibration with second sensor and set ppm mixtures
(manual screwdriver adjustments for calibration, i love it..., but the ppm/EC sensor is hardwired(unlike the ph and temp) and will eventually short out i'm sure, but 3-4 years in, hell of ROI)

1739594212940.jpeg

i'm thinking now i should mention, the lights are not even close to being topped out... have plenty of head room.
BRING IT!!!
lol
oh and pics were 30 min before lights out.
i was watching them for the past hour or so, trying to make sure i have the light power/distance dialed in, and right around 30 min before lights out the leaves started to fall (when above pictures were taken), from what i've heard, getting the lights dialed in should have those signs, right?

man i'm def no pro, but it just feels so good to dial in one thing after another. even if i miss the calmag, i see now exactly how to see the signs in the future, so it's like i'm glad i experienced it, just to see it sooner next time kinda thing.

idk what i'm rambling about,
lemme get back to rick and morty

DIY dehumidifier to tent job

followed the idea off of a picture. I was worried about the extra heat this would add but tbh, the heat is needed in these cold months, and it's letting me dial the VPD in good, exactly what i want, even when lights go off and humidity is often harder to control. interesting... i'm sure this is controversial to many growers, never would have thought about it, but it's working much better this way than before. Next step is to get this raised and draining in the top off bucket before vacation.
Really too early to say if this setup will work at all stages in flower

Just bought a $7 vent to 4" adapter and followed this "expert" design LOL shit cracks me up "expertly designed"...

@Stoneyluv have you tried these beans? I had to get a re-up of beans before my next coffee subscription mailing (will have to up it to 2 bags/month instead of 1) and got these today to hold me off. I loved the balanced one which was medium in strength so wanted to try this stronger one!
muy fuerte!

tbh, the simple packaging says a lot because the packaging doesn't need to say shit when the product is that good

A little birdy has been telling me you need a vertical germinator Ninja?
I can print one out for ya, just let me know where to send it.

Plants are looking great and those roots!!! 🤯

Nice choice on the coffee! I like it strong too.
I'm using a Staresso press and usually Cafe Bustelo beans or brick for shots of Cuban Espresso :coffee:

Flower week 2 and 1/2
EC 1.4

Small stretch so far, using IR and UVA supp. Lights.

Very few Old fan leaves still have signs of cal def, was corrected a week before flip.

In hindsight, maybe I should have flipped 2-3 weeks earlier. Plants getting big af... Feels like my healthiest grow so far, I'm very very excited to see how this turns out

Waiting until stretch is done to defoliate. Funny I was waiting for the younger one to catch up before flipping, and now I'm more excited for her (the one on top in the pic, banana blaze)

ok, first batch is in!
I haven't even tasted it yet, but i'm crazy psyched lol. i have a few more beans to grind before i'm done with my current bag, btw, this was probably my favorite tasting bean ever (i can't remember what variation, but it was my first juan valdez)

I smelled the beans putting them into my bean container.... and fuck i want them so bad!

I've had peets... i thought it was supposed to be good???!?!? i was like wtf as well. i had that same roast that you did.
now i haven't had all the coffees in the world... but i was using the mayorga for a while (found it at costco) and also the kirkland dark roast (supremo) or something. The kirkland supremo is strong, taste... maybe 6.5/10. The mayorga a 8/10 in taste and 6/10 in strength. the juan valdez 9.5/10 on taste, and maybe 7/10 strength (this wasn't even their strong/dark roast blend). by comparison i think starbucks is often trash... i almost always find really good tasting coffee at the smaller places, that sometimes do their own roasting.

ok.. on to the new:
love the packaging, love the history of coffee with the country of origin, love the smell of the beans, they smell damned good, and really like the idea of helping the small farmer out (if the story is to be true, that these are small farm sourced). reminds me of craft beer in the coffee world. small batches, amazing taste, not enough for everyone, lol

i'll update in a week once i try the new beans!

how ya liking this Atlas Peru? I'm currently drinking the Atlas Brasil right now its a little bit lighter of a roast than I prefer but its got a really nice milk chocolate note to it. I bought a fancy coffee machine a few weeks ago and I've been going down the rabbit hole of coffee roasters and didn't realize how many there were out there so far I've tried Atlas and Onyx coffee company the Onyx was a little better but more expensive and takes longer to ship

I loved the Peru beans!! They went quick

Supposed to get a new shipment new, new country any day.

Best part of going to work is the coffee I drink on the commute in. And Eliot in the morning on the radio

Do I count the first week of flip, week 0 or week 1... Hmm
It is 10 days in flower, whatever the fuck that is, week 1.5 or 2.5 idk 😂

I start at negative 1 week as my flip week.
I didn’t start counting weeks in flower until I saw an actual bud, not just a few hairs.
One of the plants I’m growing seems like it pushed out the stigmas as soon as I flipped the light, but they weren’t actual “buds” until about 7 days.

Not sure if that makes sense to anyone except for my stoned brain!

Why do you think they call it dope?

Yeah it makes sense.

Better yet, why do they call it "bees" by old heads?

Cause it catches you a buzz!

Cut those down, make 2x4s and ship them to Pipecarver for a nice custom cannabis pipe. Use the rest to build a deck ;smoke

feel like a video editing guru now.... lol
while the editing is trash (i did zero, and there are plenty of out of sync videos, 7 seconds of dead video 0:13 - 0:20)
this stupid video took me a few days to get together lol

using zero cloud services, just a physical SD card and 300+gb of video, i learned that this amount of data crashes most video editing software. so I had to learn how to use ffmpeg from the command line to concatenate 1k+ of video files and speed up the frame rate with minimal computing overhead. the only tool i found suitable for the job was free command-line linux/windows/mac ffmpeg. the tool let me do a huge batch job like it was nothing, just had to be patient while computing for hours. went from 2k video to 720p and huge quality reduction to make the video 28mb, small enough to upload here. crazy, still looks decent to me.

I can't wait to see a time lapse of the upcoming flowering weeks!!!
  • banana blaze closest to camera, my own bagseed from a previous grow that made one seed out of the entire crop, never seen such vigor, so far all female, god damn sexy bitch
  • white rhino is the farther one with the tree trunk
if it looks like they get big and small it's either because i moved the camera up with the canopy and/or a few files got out of sync when combining them all.

2/10 - 2/26 time lapse (the video is a little choppy, out of sync, frozen, etc.., i'm just a stoner so bear with me! lol)

Super cool ninja

Super Mario bros music ? I’m a big fan of video game music
That forest of illusion sound track is a very high quality game source that was downgraded to play on super Nintendo that was taken from the big Nintendo leak a few years back. I love that shit lol made it my ringtone
Super cool ninja
Thank you, even though this was a real butcher job.
It was good practice though.

$20 2k webcam, $20 512gb SD card, enough to hold weeks of video. No subscription services. Now I can be a hover grower remotely! lol 😂 🤣

It will be super cool to watch the buds fatten up. How many weeks can you do?

Hmm good question.
Rn I'm recording 5 hours a day, and it's about 2gb/day.
I can use 454gb of the 512 card, so that's like 220+ days.

It also has loop recording so if it fills it overwrites the oldest first.

I think it's a great deal, I love the interface, really made for security, it has a lot of detection options, but I just have it on a set schedule. I don't use any subscription services, but that's a user choice obviously. For me I'd rather buy a physical SD card once than pay every month and be open to vulnerabilities.

My sons the same. He also likes a lot of older music as the overseas anime uses them for theme songs.
