Slacker reporting for duty.
Going to start 14 Ethos Hash Plant BX1 seeds. They are regulars [ m/f ].
Super cold up here so going to start them in the house in my 4x4 tent with one of the Mars TSL2000 lights.
Tent has a reptile heater if needed, 1 gallon humidifier and a 12 inch oscillating fan suspended from top in it.
I brought in an AC 6 ich fan and control unit from the 4x2 out in the room to use.
Hopefully in 4 weeks or so I can cycle these and get the males out.
I am considering making seeds but have some STS that I would rather use for female seeds over true pollination.
After they come out of the Vertical Germinator C6 edition by Bandit they will go into the common solo cup.
From there I would like to have them in 1g or my air pots before I flip them.
Soil will be Coast of Maine Stonington and ferts will be Fox farm liquids for veg and dry trio for flower.
I still have to get the tent fired up and put the seeds in the VG.
This should happen without issue tomorrow and I will get pics as I get it going [ < this is how slackers do it].

Fan is not working. It is old and no major loss beyond convenience.
I'll pull the little hurricane from the 4x2 and if that does not work well enough I'll use the 'new' Hurricane 12" oscillator that I got two of last year.
It pays to have replacements.

I have grown the Hash Plant before and ordered two packs of 15 seeds when Ethos said they were discontinuing them.
I like them a lot and expect big buds from this grow.
Tent is sitting at 70 with light on so I guess I will hook up an InkBird thermostat to the reptile heater disc.
The RH is horrible[20%] but that is expected in winter here. I just filled up the humidifier, and we'll see where it gets us too.

Here's what BX1 means ;
BX1 in seed breeding refers to the first backcross cycle of a cannabis strain. This process involves crossing a hybrid strain with one of its parent plants to reinforce specific traits and stabilize the strain's characteristics. BX1 seeds inherit a significant portion of the genetics from the original parent plant, increasing the likelihood of preserving and stabilizing the desired traits within the strain. This technique is commonly used to address any dilution or loss of specific characteristics that may occur when creating hybrid strains. By repeatedly crossing with the original parent, breeders aim to achieve a balance between maintaining desired traits and preserving the advantages of hybrid vigor. BX1 seeds can offer a more predictable and stable outcome compared to F2 or F3 seeds, as the genetic influence of the original parent plant is emphasized and maintained through multiple generations of backcrossing. This makes them valuable in the development of cannabis strains with specific, consistent characteristics

Heading out for seed starter soil and then going to get the seeds in the C6 VG. They are getting a quick soak in a bowl now.

70f is not what I want but I will work with it and play from here on out.
Not sure where the dried buds and plant debris came from on the cedar breather~!
That is the black stuff on the floor.
Cedar breather, double layer spiral and who knows how many other names, it is a plastic product that allows air flow through it so the plants will not be sitting on the floor directly.

fire it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

looking forward to this man!!! been wanting to run some regs myself.

that C6 edition owt a make em start faster!!!!!
Yea man and really right on time.
Full moon baby~!
I can feel the moon pulling the plants right out of the seeds~! ;slap
Oh baby that VG is sexy 🤤
Yea man Bandit is super creative like artist skills and kind to so many.
This is not even the first VG from him for me and I know he has gifted many others.
I have the original which I treasure. HISTORY man.
Stoney made me a mass production model too that works great and handles over 20~!
Like I said close to legal numbers this grow so this 14 slot VG and regular seeds is putting right in there hopefully.

Hey I just got one of those vertical germination stations! Do you use sandwiched paper towels or just one like you have shown?

I use regular paper towels.
Depending how long the seeds stay in the VG the fish bone roots may attach to the paper but I have never had major issues.
@Bandit420 is more particular about paper I beleive.

Hey I just got one of those vertical germination stations! Do you use sandwiched paper towels or just one like you have shown?

Your version is a bit different..This is how I use mine...
You'll need 6 sheets of paper towel cut roughly 4.5" x 7"
Two sheets go down over the grooved wall. Get them wet and work it into the grooves.
Put your seeds in point side facing down about 1/4"-1/2" from the top.
Get the other 4 sheets of paper wet and put them over the seeds and lightly tamp it down so they're secure and cradled in the groove.
Insert the panel with seeds into the cover plate and stand it up in shallow water.
Wait 5 days and you should have sprouts with heads above the rim ready to plant. This is designed to take your seedling way past just an open shell and give you a 115mm tap root, a head with no helmet, and fishbone roots about 1/8" long.
Check after day three by gently opening and peeking in as they may ready early.
If roots grab onto the paper, be very gentle and either pick them out or slide them out and if super tacky, plant with the paper still on the roots as it will decompose in a couple week.
Keep warm, moist, and well lit with mild seedling lighting

I plan on making a video soon but I'm so swamped with things I'm behind on all pet projects. In the meantime, there's this thread you can contribute to or ask questions since there's several ways you can use these things and others can help you with how they do it too.

Cart meet horse~!;sup
With so many this time hopefully I plan to hash and press the results from this grow.
Besides just roll too many joints to count [ again hopefully].
A guess from previous grows of the Hash Plant say I should yield aprox. 4-12 ounces per plant.
I say 4 as a low from all my other grows. If memory serves me correct I pulled a ton from the first Hash Plants.;hd
Hoping to be 50/50 and have 6-7 females...

I've always had a thing for hashplants. The woody floral aromas are my fave from weed.
Two made their way into my doomsday vault...an 88/G13 cross and hashberry from Mandala.
I rarely make hash with them and prefer HP doobs too. It tastes and hits like hash off the vine and I'm fine with that. Half a doob of HP can wreck some shop 🙃

I wish I knew what I smoked when younger. Even as I grew old we never had a choice or much of name to put to what we got.
Man the Hash Plant I grew before was one of my favorites. I know I say that a lot but it was just like smoking some of the best from back in the day to me. I do favor fruity stuff like grape/cherry but like pipe tobacco rarely does a fruity bud burn like it smells. Kind of the biggest disappointment in herb today IMO.
But the Hash Plant burns much like it smells. Like I said no clue of old school names or punch but to me the first time I smoke my own HP I thought I found old school skunk~! Fresh cut dried right is a wrecking ball of herb. If I was to attempt to create some line I would use HP as a strong part of it. Part of my desire to even just get fem seeds this run with some STS.
When Ethos said they were discontinuing HP I ordered two packs of 15 regular seeds.
This is a seed/plant I don't want to lose.
Hopefully a couple months from now y'all will be drooling at my bud pics~! ;pass

11 out of 14 have tails today~!
Visible progress in 36 hours.
Nice~!

Easy to see how this system rocks.
Clearly, I placed 2 seeds upside down and the VG is correcting that.;budi
