A couple of years ago, I was in a Mexican restaurant and had this great seat back to stare at before my food was served. It must depict a holiday, with all kinds of customs rolled into one pic (split in two for your convenience, or my convenience), but what exactly is going on is still a mystery.
OK, here's the left side:

This guy brought his chicken to the party, and don't tell me those two women aren't making snarky comments about his date. Judging from the look on his face, he's already heard a few comments.
Then, to the right of the snarky women, we have this peyote trip happening:

The guy with the fireball on his head appears to be kicking and stomping the little guy on the floor, who doesn't seem to mind. A cloth merchant in overalls is trying to interest the shit-kicker in his wares, while a goat in the sky watches over the whole thing.
So what holiday is this? If I attend a celebration like this, which everyone but the little guy on the floor and the chicken man are enjoying, how do I avoid the role of the chicken man and the guy on the floor? And is there any pleasing the two snarky women? What's their story? Their role seems to be central.
