When an infection goes septic pneumonia aint no joke and death can come very quick. I went from walking my dogs to an hour later almost dying in the back of an ambulance and on oxygen the next 5 days. Many go from walking to dead in just 36 hours.
I hear he went unconscious in the simulator at RCR yesterday. When it hits, minutes matter. I thought I could tough it out and walk it off but it's a monster and got to a point I couldn't take another step and wife called 911.
I heard him on the radio ask for the shot. Shots during a game are nothing new to me so I just figured he needed a blast of cortisone to get thru some pain.
There was a weird vibe when he took the bow Friday night after the win. I felt like maybe it was his last win a national series and his comments after were prophetic.
The shock is dulled now. I've enjoyed reading posts from people like Brad K, Dale Jr, both who have had their moments with KFB because I feel like for many, we have a respect/hate/respect/love/hate/respect thing for the guy. It's complicated lol.
He made me laugh though and that goes a long way in life for me.
We make fun of him, as if he's a woman and used tampons and the guys at Watkins Glenn with the huge banner, "Kyle Busch pees sitting down". He'll leave his wrecked car on the track and go pout in his hauler, fight with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. dad, tell you that you suck just as bad as he does, drive his wrecked car around the track in reverse with a fire truck and AMR safety team chasing him. That's why I enjoyed KFB. Love or hate, he made racing a little more fun than it already is.
There is no doubt he was a major reason why we became fans. We needed a villain and he more than fit the script.
I felt he was a head hunter towards the young guys but if a driver proves himself, Kyle would race as clean and hard as anybody. Few times the 19 had to hold him off and he coulda punted my guy into the wall but never did. Respect for that.
Today I'm gonna rock my #8 hat, hug my wife a few times and take my dogs on an extra long walk. Take the day off, smoke a turkey breast, and enjoy some truck racing tonight and do a little celebration in honor of the man.
One for the road Rowdy hahaha!!!
