Rolling through time~!

I all but swore off clones. Even my own.
If they were not LuvShack TC they would be gone already~!
I am afraid that is how this will end shortly.
Usually I freeze my room once before this grow time but with the clones I did not.
That being said and it being like 12f outside [ my room is not in my house it is in an unheated shop] I really wonder where the hell these came from.
No way I could have missed them all this time on the clones, that is just not possible.

I think I have at least 4 of those Trop Cherry seeds. You're more than welcome to them if you want some back ups.
The two plants I have now will probably give me around 5-6oz and usually 4-5oz of any strain is more than enough before I'm done with it.
I wanted to test them to see if they were stable females more than anything and they are.
These TC seeds will fall to the back of the line in my rotation and that line is pretty long so doubt I'll grow them.
One thing for sure, they're fighters when it comes to mites. The color is also there but mine are more blue/purple than a deep cherry red.

I pulled the clones out of room.
Voted off the island by the guy who pretends to be in charge. ;fafo
I see bugs in the room but will work on it moving forward.
# 3 Frozen Black Cherry is not up so I think lost.
The room has 8@ 16oz solo cups moving forward.
I may pull them out to my high tech box shown in first thread take them into the house and bomb the room.
I don't start issues. I finish them.
My mind would never be right with a three week battle with odds against me. 4-foot trees have too many hiding places not to mention 20+ gallons of 'hot' soil.
I can win the three weeks battle I have now I believe. 8 @ 16 oz.
Way back I used to say stress free grows rule.
I won't stress myself like I do the plants.

Beyond common sprays like Spinosad, pyrethrins and bombs there really isn't much. I'll never use a soap. NEVER. I understand the whole surfactant suffocation thing. It is documented that freezing is not a solution as many mites and thrips can overwinter in wood.
When I had my first issue, I thought like the fish breeder I was used to being. What kills eggs?
One thing beyond chemicals will work.
STEAM~! Funny with my name and all but a steam cleaner is out there ready to cook every nook and cranny in my room if needed.
It is a good amount of time but not without merit.

So in no hurry we will move forward and maybe start some more seeds. I mean who grows only 8 plants?
Slacker is strong this time of year. I am exhausted~!;hop

What's the worry with soaps?

What's the worry with soaps?
Just don't like them. No worry, I know they work like the other stuff.
Way back probably smoked some with taste of the soap and don't care if done properly anymore.
There wasn't a lot of choices back in the 80's.
One of the worst tastes if left on the plant or used too late.
I know I could use them and all the other solutions.
I will work on easy way out if possible.

steam huh?? i can do that!! i even have a nozzle that would fit right behind all my panda.. gotta do each stud opening one by one but would have to anyway with steam.. i have a much smaller room than you i bet it would only take me a couple hours!! hmmm..

Yea I can see how that would suck, ever get some weed wrapped in a dryer sheet... yuck 🤮.

I think both the methods I use are soaps but the sshz recipe I only have used in veg...only used the Dr zymes during flower once and it was somewhat early....also came back and foliar sprayed with water about a week later I think 🤔? I was hella worried but got zero bad taste. My local buddy who already quit growing...he had some spider mites and whatever he used his weed definitely tasted weird. I honestly don't think he had it properly ventilated tasted a bit musty and almost rotted...but I couldn't shake the thought it could be chemicals I didn't smoke much of it either...few puffs

I had a cartridge from a buddy that tasted like Pledge wood polish. Just couldn't do it.

Cook them fuckers~!
I could reclaim my soil by cooking it if I had to. Not sure how the perlite would hold up to 250-300f, but if I had to, I would find out.
Heat is undeniable applied in proper amounts.
Too little could exasperate the issue as many pests thrive in warmer temps, but at extremes they collapse and fail.

The perlite should be fine, it's just volcanic glass heated until it "pops"

yeah man, the steam is a great idea!! i'm gonna fill up my steamer and see how it works.. i wonder if i could shove the nozzle in from the bottom and let the steam rise rise up... i'll fill that thing up five times on every stud if i gotta!!!! i'll soak it till the luan changes color on the outside!! 😆

i've baked soil in my grill already to kill off seeds. perlite changes to brown but still works!!

The high priced English gardeners always cook their mulch before placing it on their plants. I also saw this done in Pyinn Oo Lwin, Burma. They have a replica of Kew Gardens called Kanawgi Gardens from when British officers used the town as a respite from Mandalay's heat.

Blow 3000+ ppm of CO2 in any grow area and every pest is dead like you could be if you stayed.

I let the rest of the final CO2 tank loose after every grow it hits 5000 ppms sometimes and the alarms go off all night! However I guarantee there isn’t a pest or a mold or mildew spore that lives through this!

I have considered using river soil again like I used to outdoors but havent because it's recommended to bake it...which id do if I was trying to drag the shit in my house but in my yard...pppppfffff...

But it's to kill bugs but more importantly pathogens I think 🤔. Been a while since I read on it, I think they ask for a certain temp (450?) for a certain amount of time....

i don't have co2, but i have an ozone generator. do you think that would kill them just the same?

i was looking and this place says yes.. https://blueairproducts.com/cultiva...ons ozone kills,BIG BLUE plugged in overnight.

i think it's well worth the try!

So this was yesterday.
8 out 9 up.
Today was same so I opened the VG up.
One Frozen Black Cherry had split and formed a tail and gone no further.
All were placed in solo cups with Happy Frog soil.
Hoping for 9-4-9 still.

In other news The clones have thrips~!🤬
Could I have introduced them with the new soil?
They were not there before and noticeable spots and 'damage' are all on top newest leaves not the old growth.
Kind of pissed about this but will just do my best to spray before lights out and hope the seedlings are not effected.
Already have Spinosad, Smite and one other bug spray so I'll get to figuring it out.
Start with the spinosad and maybe some orange oil.
Man I have some predatory mites that eat thrips in the fridge if you want them. They are getting a little old, I hope they are still good? Dunno but they are yours if you want to try them. Still in the original sealed package

Still need to deal with the room and 8 solos.
They have been fed 3 times now but are lacking full effort from their keeper.

^ Just over 2 weeks above soil^
Clones and bags of 'hot' soil are gone.
Since I am never in a hurry, I may just bring these girls into the house where an empty 4x4 tent and light wait and then freeze and bomb the room.
That will make treating them much easier also.
I'll try to get our act together before we are much into next year~!
Time to be humble.

it's gonna deep freeze starting this weekend i think?? it will make it easier to keep anything from coming in. i plan to take advantage of the freeze and bomb the shit out of my basement as well, strike when the iron is hot!!!

I had good luck using a 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water mix to kill hemp russet mites, there's tons of them here in the hayfields 😡 kills eggs too, but ya gotta keep it out of the plants soil

Slacker report just for the record keeping.

So just over 3 weeks ago I removed the soils and the TC clones as much as that really bothered me.
I hit the remaining 8 plants in 16 oz solo cups with spinosad mostly on the soil.
I never managed to drag the slacker out to the room for lights out and proper dowsing of the actual plants.
I make it to the room 2 times a week lately.
Even with that I have not seen a bug or sign of bugs in over a week.
Yesterday this stuff got delivered. Thanks to Stoney for recommendation.
It is like squishy crystals and easy peasy to install with a shaker top on the container. Put a little in cups yesterday topped the girls and watered.

Up potted to 1 gallon containers today using Stonington purchased local that was frozen solid last weekend.
Added more of the squishy crystals and sprayed the new soil as I filled the pots.
Probably last years soil so I will try to keep an eye on the girls and start back feeding soon probably.
Would have used the air pots but humidity is horrible in the room maybe getting to 40% on good days.
Going through gallons a day with the humidifier already and the plants are not thrilled.
No pics since they are less than happy and probably the smallest plants for their age I have grown.
Thinking with only 8 I could probably make a couple/ 4 tables and scrog these for best results.
I could do 2 plants per light which is aprox 4x2 each.
Still got all the time in the world from my seat, so hopefully they will start to grow better with more soil.

Hope you all had a great weekend if you made it through all that.

I think I found a thrip.
Will continue on with hopes the new treatment and what ever else is needed will work.
Second plant from top in second row shot is not the one but looks least happy of all.

My wall of stickers and charts.

man look at you!! telling us there's nothing to see here and keep on movin... ;blah

all upcanned and veggin out already!!! not very slacker like, i think maybe it is time for a title change!!! hehe

your definition of neglected looks pretty freakin good man!! i hope those nematodes help with the thrips. i just picked up a fresh bottle myself.

hope ya get some time off for these artic temps rolling in next week!!! ❄️

Week end check in.
Hard to say thrips are gone but I don't see any. Sprayed the room with Spinosad [Monteray spray].
Found 4 mosquitos in my humidifier~! Added mosquito bits to it and swear I watched one die in seconds after touching water?

Pulled all the original big fans off to let branches get more light.
Then spread the plants out 2 per light.
DSC_0147 - Copy.JPG

Lights are at 75% trying to warm the room up a little more.
They are about 24-30 inches above plants.
Filled the water barrels and plants are looking a little better than I probably deserve so I will try to look in on them a little more in next couple weeks.
Want to get them into 3g pots before flip so maybe still 3-4 weeks before flip.
Daddy like big plants.
Thanks for visiting hope you all had a great weekend.
Stay warm.

Mid week Wednesday check in~!;hd

^^The room today^^
Actually pulled more leaves off almost all plants.
They are becoming very dense bushes.
Going to up pot to 3 gallon pots this weekend and get ready to flip.
Once in the 3g I will probably hook up the Blumats.
Need to make scrog nets for them all since I have so much room with only 8 plants this go.
Thinking a separate 2x2 for each but may end up just making 2 that are 2x8.
The 2x8s would eliminate the cross braces that would probably be blocking diagonal lighting?
Need to think. 2x8 would be quicker, easier and cheaper...

yeah, i'd just do the 8 foot if were me. but i'm lazy!

you think the two foot narrow is enough? i just ask, i've seen your grows before. never saw you flower a plant that wouldn't fill out 3 foot at least.

they look so strong and solid, you don't even need supports they'd probably hold it up themselves!!!

I can't go wider than 2 feet and still have my middle path.
At 2 feet my path may be narrower than the space between the lights.
I remember cutting them in half and then trimming maybe 6 inches off of each.
With the lights low now, I bounce them when walking through to water.
I just don't think anything smaller than 2 feet is a good set up.
I mostly see scrogs in tents set up 4x4.
It's gonna get tight in there for sure.
I want to use metal fence at 4x4 inch holes for the scrog on a 2x3 or so frame.

that makes sense. walking through a grow is something i never really think about.

if you don't make them separate it might help out a little if one plant is bigger than another they can share space. maybe alternate tall and short as they grow.

that 4x4 metal fence is really nice to make tomato cages from i bet it would work perfect for ya!!

maybe we can install you some railroad style rails on the floor and you can duck and roll in!!! ;rockb

So, soils and compost are here.
Measuring the room it is 56" total in width. That makes 2 foot wide scrogs very tight, like 8 inches in-between~!
So, if I make my scrog frames 20 inches by 8 feet it will leave me a mere 16 inches to get down the middle of the room.
That is 2 inches more than space inbetween the lights but they don't exactly touch the wall like the scrog hopefully will.
So I think the scrog will be 20X96.
Re potting into 3g containers tomorrow.
Will give the plants a week at least to settle in and for me to configure the scrog.
TGIF~!
