smoke

Im actually of the opinion that they enjoy the stress factor.

Did a broscience thing in my veg room and just let the ph fall to whatever it wanted. Settled at 4.2 for quite a while and i think it hurt the fibrous root structure. Again Broscience

Do they like the stress this far into flowering, though?

thought I'd give a update of the chetta piss and the watermelon gelato that are acting as moms for my next in the flower room.

These 2 plants have bean in this same water now for 81 days without a change. I remember @tobh commenting to me years ago that i should by lottery tickets because I am either the luckiest guy around or ive found the secret but can't explain it.

I took 3 snaps of each root

i'm still firm in that assertion man!

The root balls you produce are nothing short of spectacular...and their sitting in ditch water! 🤣

I agree with Tobh. Tobh and I will send you $20 each. You kick in another $20 and go by lottery tickets! We'll be swimming in green in no time....both kinds!!🤣

Probably a stupid question to ask you but seeing your roots reminded me…

If my roots grow out the bottom of my red cup and I go to transfer to bigger pot most roots outside cup get ripped off. How bad does that shock the plants?

I know you’re hydro but you guys seem to be #1 on root knowledge.

I stop by your grow a lot when not logged in. Uses less data loading smaller image sizes.

The roots you get always remind me of straining spaghetti in a colander. Amazing man.

You’re one of the main reasons I want to try hydro. Just to chicken and inexperienced at this time. One day.

I’m not sure those are roots, they look like cables, those things r thick.

It's a bucket of pasta......

Very seldom have i needed to change the water on the veg side
Caught up here too - nice work smoke , hydro scares me but you make it look easier for sure !
It sure is easier than i was lead to believe when i first started.

Some stress training is good thing imo. How much is too much? This plant can take alot.

ROOTS. How much water volume do these roots displace?

Just looking and guessing how much? I would always think maybe 3 gallons

last grow doing my bro science studies i think i discovered that its not near what one would think.

Nothing scientific but at the end of my grow last time, i measured the depth of the water in the system and removed 2 root balls from their modules and added the water back using a pail.

What i found was that each root ball didn't even displace a gallon of water each. The math worked out to 8% of the total water in the system was displaced by each plant. Again bro science and it needs verified. I'd be interested in others findings.

Sorry Zen, no pictures.

Please do post pics. I don’t mind peeking from outside. Uses less data.

As they say worth a 1000 words.

Here’s my oldest clone.
