Stoney's Luv Shack

Biggest I ran was an o72 stil 38 inch bar fkg dinosaur....

we used to have this antique mcculloch back in day that was so heavy it had an actual foot plate on top to stand on while ya started it!!! it would be a completely useless in todays age back in the 70's it was a beast!!!!!

Just catching up. Happy (late) Birthday!

I just have a little 029 for only occasional use. It starts easy, but I damn sure better not let it run out of gas. After running it empty, it won't start again until after it cools down. Now, if I shut it off and refill before it runs empty, it fires right up 🤷‍♂️

Thanks my man!!!!!! it was a great weekend.. i wish it wasn't over.. went to fast though!! i might, just maybe, could have friday off for a three day weekend!! if i turn the phone off i know for a fact i would have off friday!!!! hehehe

I’ve got a 22”(?) Poulan Pro. Piece of crap that runs the chain as soon as you start it. 😳

I’ll use one of my battery skill saws on most younger trees that pop up each year, reciprocating saws don’t do well until the trees big enough not to move.

hahaha i think i might have the same saw!!!! hahaha seriously i'll have to go out there and take a pic.. i got it from a guy i did work for a few years ago. he paid me some money and some tools.. i figured why not, it had a really nice case. i brought it home and it worked once for about ten minutes and never started again!! i actually think it's just bad fuel line but i never messed with it, still use the case for another saw all the time though!!!! that case sits perfect on my atv and thats almost a must have when ya live on a country road!!!!!!

seedlings are doing fine.. no issues, airpots dry out fast.. i really should put my humidifier in here to help hold more moisture. normall i would let the other containers get down to 23-25$ moisture rating before watering and these airpots i've been keeping them at like 38%.
if i let them get to 34% the soil around the edges starts to dry out and that where the problems start with airpots. so i've been trying to keep them from going any dryer than 34%

this is a 34% moisture pot..

and this is what a 37% looks like..

I wasn't old enough to run it, but spent plenty of time dragging limbs, loading, unloading and stacking firewood my dad cut with one of those heavy yellow beasts. It seemed like all of my friend's dads had that same saw. They were everywhere. I don't know why I remember this little detail, but I can still see a leather patch my dad epoxied on the toe of his boot where he managed to nick it with that saw.

Yep. Eers fans own that song. I also love singing that wonderful refrain that Neil Diamond failed to include in the chorus to Sweet Caroline.

You should tell your seedling army not to point their bazookas at anything they don't intend to kill.

i'm pretty sure it was on one of those old yellow saws where my dad first played the game with me "here, hold this wire" !!! hahaha for my entire life the only way my dad ever knew if an engine had spark was from me!!!!! wtf?!?! no wonder i became an electrician!!! haha

it wasn't until my early teens till i was like hey, ya know there's better ways to do this??!! he says yeah i know, but this way is more fun!! i miss him a lot, sure wish he was still alive.

Hope you get the day off.

well i kinda talked myself into redoing something quick.. last week i was paid by an HOA to clean and coat all their copper mailboxes, a few of them also required reshaping and soldering tears (Steamroller would have been proud of my craftmanship on those!!) but part of the cleaning involved wiping them all down with wd40. i didn't realize it was going to pour rain all night long right after i did them last week. i think it washed it all off before it had a chance to soak in. i was there a couple times this week and they didn't look any better than what they did..

so i'm going to cruise through and wipe down 27 mailboxes with a rag and my day is complete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so that kinda counts as a day off...

that song is so popular at so many schools, for a few years now every time i hear it all i can think about is the Caroline Found story.. it's a good watch if you've never seen it...

no friendly fire!!!!!

symbiotic though how both my containers and my sensors have nipples!!!!

I hope the extra effort is appreciated and pays dividends. Not that you are looking for or expecting that. That just makes me hope even harder that it pans out like that.

Funny story about my dad and his chainsaw...

I was just a pup. He went out to take a limb off of a big tree that overhung our neighbors yard, on a step-ladder... limb shifted and spun the saw right out of his hands. Took a gnarly hunk out of his thigh. That's not funny... the funny part was that I was inside helping my mom with the dishes when my brother came flying in screaming "Dad needs a towel!" Well, like I said, doing dishes, so I threw him a dish towel and he headed back inside. My dad was never shy with the expletives, but I remember cowering in the corner as he cussed us out. Dude needed a fuckin' beach towel. He still brings it up to this day, and you know what... I don't feel bad about it anymore 🤣

He got over 170 stitches on the outside and more than 50 on the inside. Tore his ass up. He said the worst part of it all... cleaning the meat off the chain the next day.

I think you've tapped into your past life.
In ancient times before Christ, when most worshiped mythical Greek gods, there was a little known heathen religion in Greece who worshiped a god known as Artemis Ephesia. Later she would become a Roman god, Diana, as one empire fell and another rose to power.
She was a god of fertility among other things.
See anything you like?

oh i'm kinda expecting it at this point... been waiting long enough, lets get the sticky started already!!!!!! hehe

wow... damn i don't think i wanna use my saw for while.. damn well know that mental image will pop into my brain at least once the next time i start mine up!!! no shit man!!!!! fuck man you hear the stories but ya never think... happen to anyone real freakin quick!!!

What were you aiming for?

oh hell yeah!!!!! she's all full of boobies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw one statue on TV where she had boobies on her knees!!
Like why not though...If you're gonna load up on boobies ya might as well have knee boobs too!

New stuff dropped in the Rewards catalog today!
It's been real glitchy too...Now I keep getting 404 Bad Request pages but I got a peek earlier.
COTA Cup tix are only 5000 so I'm probably going for that. I'm hoping the Garage Experiences reset after 'Dega since that's the last of 2025 then I'll know if I have a shot at that but if not, COTA tix and giftcard will be my choices. Didn't see any gift cards yet though. Some new merch is okay and then there's autographed diecasts for 10K points but I want tix!!

i'll have to look again too, i checked it out around 5 or 6 oclock yesterday and kept reloading on me, i saw a couple autographed items and and maybe only like three or four regular prizes and then it reloaded again and i moved on to what i was doing before that so yeah i need to look again and see if anything is jumping out that i don't want to miss out on. i'd cash in early that wouldn't bother me..

.

shitty game man.. had that hope at the end but Arch's helmet popping off screwed up any plan of attack, snowballed to sadness after that.. switched back to the race and saw the late caution and ending!!

i had to rewind it though, i went downstairs quick to check on the plants and by time i got back it was over!!

.

i put my hum-dida-fier in there the other day... cranked it up to rain forest setting and the plants like it!! i'm going to have to move my sensors a little, theyre getting in the way of progress..

been two days since i watered them too and barely any dry soil on the edges!!!!! winner winner!!!!!

oh the drama at the xfin series cutoff here... anytime now nascar... duh basic math has us stumped please stand by...

@Stoneyluv i finally got around to looking at the code last night, i blew you up with PMs and the final code. Likely you are watching the race, later let me know how the changes look/perform in actual use, I'm dying to know lol

If it opens a worm portal to another dimension, that's normal 😂 😂

Peace brother

sweet man, that is so awesome of you. i hope to be home early this afternoon and i plan to mock it all up on the workbench and load it in and see what happens!!! i'm excited!!

i think i may have to replace that probe though, i can't get it to calibrate correctly. it won't recognize the 7 and thinks the 4 is the seven so it's way off. wiki for the probe says to lad the factory code and it will clear the memory. i tried it and it says it was successful but i get the same results.

i think that probe is shot.. i'll mess iwth it for a few minutes but i don't want it to piss me off so i won't spend too much time on it, i wanna focus on the doser part and check that out. i have spare probes and i'll try that but honestly thats whats gonna piss me off when i learn that expensive ass probe failed already! i recently bought two bluelabs probes for what i paid for that one from df robot.. man i got hustled!!!!

everything in your PM that you said you did was exactly what i was looking for but didn't know how to code that into it. can't wait to see how it works out!!!

So I'm not sure if I'm on the same page or not, but the bluelabs have to be calibrated in a particular order. I get it wrong every other time so I can't say whether to do the 4 or 7 first. I think 7. Maybe 4 🤣

yeah, you're correct. 7 then 4.. unless the water you're measuring is between 7 and 10. if you're looking to measure ph between 7 and 10 then you should calibrate with 7 then 10..

but this probe i'm speaking of is the POS i bought from DFRobot and i don't even wanna know how much i paid for that thing!!! somehow i messed up the calibration or it just brole but it won't recognize the 7. i put it in 7 and it fails. i put it in 4 and it thinks it's seven and sets ph4 as 7.. yeah!! POS!!!!

i'm gonna try to reset it to factory settings again and see if anything is different. if not i might get some satisfaction destroying it! my expectation level is about a point five.. in fact i had to print one of these just so i would have one to give!!!!

If i remember right i saw some funny code around the ph probe init, but figured if it's working to leave as is. given this new information i will look into that part of the code tonight. This Arduino coding is new to me, but you have sparked my love for coding again after a long hiatus.

You never told me it was c code before lol, some real nerd shit but i love c++ it's my favorite programming language

There is a lot of history behind how this language revolutionized coding, and how c++ brought OPP, object oriented programming to the masses as one of the firsts and most efficient Screenshot_20251009-070445.png
Oh man this was like porn for me as a kid lol

@Stoneyluv let me know about the probe. If you want me to dive into that initialization code or you think it's just the probe itself

I forgot to mention "hello world!" Is always how a new coding language is presented to the world. It would go from requiring a few hundred lines of code, down to eventually just 4 with C/C++ then to just one line with some newer languages, a little coding history lesson lol
