it was great and i was loving it till i wasn't. as you would say,
it was a double shit!!!! i take those sometimes too!!! hahaha
larson was back there racing with him and i kept trying to key in on the mic and say clear high.. to put that a&m car in the fence!! haha
briscoe had a great night!! his incar drives me nuts being mounted inside like that, i kept moving my head side to side trying to see around the windshield supports!!
i'm a little surprised the 1 car dirtied it up, thats a move i'd expect from the 11.. i didn't watch any after race stuff. hoping prime will let me resume if i want to later this week. no biggie if they don't.
on to nashville..
Bouncing round thru all the feeds, I settled in on Prime.
When Hocevar dropped the live F bomb and there was no apology or awkward cutaway I knew NASCAR had finally found a good broadcast partner. Fuck broadcast and cable TV, the damn cowards. Another reason I stream everything is get away from censorship.
The sound...Who knew V-8s could be piped in to make you feel like you're at the track and not muted? Great job on sound and proof that Fox has shitty equipment. The new soundbar here was up to the challenge and made us feel like we were in a suite at the track.
The comparison between production people in the TV trucks and the equipment they use was oceans apart. That really showed because Fox has been using the FS1 truck package for Cup and yesterday was like Prime brought a Super Bowl or World Series level of production package to the track. Even when Fox rolls out everything for Daytona it still comes up way short compared to Prime.
The booth. I like Harvick, Joy, and Boyer but they don't make a good booth. The dumb jokes, lame puns, friction between Harvick and Bower all the time, Harvick being a newb, Joy forgetting names and where he's at is just bad. Then they brought in Jamie McMurray as if that would help and that guy just sucks.
NASCAR on Fox straight up punishes people for watching and was the main reason I always DVR a Fox race. I wont even get into those commercials on Fox and another reason to DVR anything aired by Fox. Prime commercials were all race centric or national brands you know and not weird culty shit from Fox.
Jr and the boys up there having fun like kids, they obviously get along off track and it's not forced. The knowledge and graphic animation to explain is like NASCAR college for a newbie like me.
Edwards and Lajoie? Who knew they would be that good?! I enjoy Carl Edwards and know I woulda been a fan of his if our paths met while he was still racing.
It was also funny to see Prime get all the talent from Fox and NBC. It showed big-time IMO.
Post race was awesome! No cut away early to the stupid ass Farmer Needs A Wife or other fucking brain melting dumb ass reality TV show. Just lingering around for all the post race celebration and stuff we never get to see. It went for so long Chastain was pretty hammered on Busch lite and bloated by watermelon by the end of it.
From what it looks like on Reddit, NASCAR is gaining new fans and curious people into the sport with the move to stream on Prime. Streaming is the now and the future while cable TV is dying on the vine.
The new Earnhardt series has got some eyes from curious people interested and the race hooked them. Larson's double also got some outsiders curious even though that was such a dud in the end.
BTW you hear his interview on the radio? Doesn't sound like he wants to do the double again but did say he wants to run the Indy500 again. IDK just with interviews along the way and that beef he has with F1 guys I think just to prove he's the best driver ever he eventually goes to Indicar and maybe even F1. He's the type of guy I could see having a goal to win a race in every profession race series going. Hell I'm surprised he's not racing a top fuel dragster sometimes or has he?
