also haven't talked about this much... i almost killed that Fruity Freak seedling with my dwc bucket attempt.. back to the drawing board on that one for sure!!!! so i back to good ol reliable soil and since i have a couple bags and not enough for a full run it was a pretty easy decision..

just finished up the first week...

finally back to racing again this weekend!!!!! i find myself a little heavier in the gas when driving because i miss the speed.. went for a few butt puckering four wheeler rides, that usually scares the go fast right out of me for week or so but this week i just want more!!!

big thunderstorm right now.. came in out of nowhere and totally unexpected!! cooled it down a shit load!!! went from 98 down to 75 in a few minutes!!!

not much else new to talk about.. new season of ted lasso started.. dude makes us laugh to tears every episode!!! new deadliest catch on tonight.. On Patrol Live.. we already watched the new episode of silo last night, boothleggers get it a day early!!

slowly catching up on my RH downstairs.. with just old trusty on low and a fan i have it down to 61% right now and still lowering. i turned off that big POS stand alone unit, i can't wait to give that thing away.

everything else is growing fine.. my garden by Zen is crankin out the cucumbers faster than we can eat/give away right now.
tried my recent pickles... DAMN!!!!!! i'm impressed!! i sliced a little to thick though, i was afraid to lose crunch.. nope not at all.. to thick though and four days in and i can still taste fresh cucumber on the back end. but wowzers that first bite is pickle yumminess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cherry tomatoes are so close too.. turning red daily, and won't long... those plants are loaded with them!!!!!!!!!!!! been picking/eating the cheater plant grape tomatoes for a week or more now.

well hell look at that i found shit to talk about... hahaha

made another round of quick pickles tonight...

this time i used distilled white vinegar versus the apple cider to compare and sliced these into spears and wavy chips..

We picked up the pickling spice pack Saturday. I have two cucumbers on the kitchen island left I can try this on. One jar for each cucumber.

How long you let them rest before you think they are ready?

We have lots of white vinegar but only one of apple. I have a few apple & banana vinegar bottle I made still.

cool man!! like ya say, once they start pumping there is no slowing them down and i like to use as much as i can. i'll start canning some for the winter soon. i add a little pickle crisp additive when i long term can.

but these quick pickles can be ready to eat in 48 hours if sliced thin enough for the flavor to pickle through.. mine were thicker so it took a week. this last ones i sliced thinner so i'll open em soon to try!!

mowed the lawn for the month of august.. so far just been once a month, last time was mid june. the new motor in the mower is running awesome!! i tinkered with the tune up and got it running perfect right now. i get over two full mows now with just one tank of gas, i think i doubled it from the old engine. the rpms don't even dip now when i engage the blades and it goes a little faster speed. cuts really nice too.. couldn't be happier with it!!



even got out the edger and cleaned up the sidewalk... till my chickens messed it up again anyway!!! haha

New way to earn 50 points started this week.
Fan Rewards is doing some sort of fan wall of photos and you can enter a photo for 50 points. I sent one of me and Chase and his door but I'm sure anything like a pic of a flag or whatever will get the 50.
There's also a bucket list race contest and it's funny because COTA is on there. But I entered for 'Dega. Might be able to enter for all of them though so I'm gonna try to enter for Loudon and Atlanta too

July4th at Iowa will be nuts but that's gonna have some built in exclusivity that prices it out of most budgets. Those experiences I think can be worth it maybe once but we did Chicago and that was enough of those. It was crazy memorable but I also saw how much better it was on TV and I bet Coronado was the same.
It was even weird two years ago when they pretty much sold out Iowa before they set tickets for sale to the public so each year that's been like a $300 ticket minimum from a second party, not the track. I haven't looked to go to Iowa since.
So happy seeing COTA back on the schedule and on the same weekend too! Looking forward to finally cashing in points for a garage experience
